For US expats this is a great treat! Italian coffee is incredible but you need a taste of home now…read moreand again. Many "American style" cold coffees and drinks in the area taste off or overly sweet, so again, it's nice to have a taste of home. The bakery is very different, no familiar sandwiches, no cake pop, but oddly enough they have MASSIVE cake slices. The sandwiches are really good, and considerably larger than USA servings. Sadly no sous vide egg bites, but I think that's a stretch to hope for here. Imagine a fancy version of the SB cafe inside of a Barnes and noble store (iykyk ) Everything I've tried (Frappuccino, plain iced latte, black cold brew, dragon drink, caramel macchiato) were solid 10/10 A note to my American friends on the Frappuccino. It's different here, they seem to use plain cold coffee, not the frapp roast so it tastes much sweeter and is watery compare to its American recipe. Regardless, if you've been disappointed by limited menus at other locations in Italy, you'll be happy here with such a large menu with all the classics and a few surprises. Being thoughtful and respectful of the establishment, we purchased a few tiramisus and ate it sitting outside. Within a few minutes we were asked to leave without any reason - the area and establishment wasn't even busy! I'm assuming they felt our purchase wasn't big enough to warrant sitting there...Super rude staff and the tiramisus weren't even good...really ruined our visit in Genoa. We highly suggest supporting another business if possible.

A sign on their wall advertises that their specialty is caffè con crema--so we had two for 1 euro each. As usual, it's faster and cheaper to stand at the bar, order, and have your coffee instead of sitting down and waiting for service. service was efficient, if somewhat steely--the norm for Italian cafes, I think--and their English was more passable than my Italian. would recommend if you're in the area and looking for a quick coffee.

The cappuccino and red wine we selected were rather good, but I was displeased with the service. A man was trying to squeeze between our table and a table behind me, so I pushed my chair in and accidentally knocked my cup of cappuccino over, spilling it on myself and the table and floor. A waiter who witnessed everything glanced over (yes, we locked eyes) and completely ignored it ... No napkin, no word, no nothing. This would've been a decent review, but sorry, I simply can't forgive a waiter for paying a foreigner with cappuccino trickling down her legs no mind.
