They have everything from full bodied red wines, whites, rosé and Champagne. You buy the bottle in the store. If you would like to enjoy the bottle at La Grande Cave or just have a glass of the bottle, corkage is €8. The light food is well presented, is of high quality and is very individual depending on the waiter. One dish can be garnished with paprika and strawberries by one and with tomatoes by another. Interesting and authentic! You can also buy wine by the glass. They have red/white/rosé of the day for about €8 with higher quality than neighboring restaurants. The winestore/bar has about 6 small tables in a steep alley located in central Villefranche. During high season there is a calm flow of people strolling by. The environment is beautiful with a glimpse of the harbour. This is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. Maybe buy a bottle, have a glass of it and finish it with dinner at home or at a restaurant nearby?

We loved it enough to want to return Saturday. My dad stopped by Saturday to make a reservation and was told they were fully booked. Shortly after, I called from my US phone number not on purpose. The moment the owner saw the New York area code, her tone completely changed -- she was thrilled, saying "Bonjour New York, can't wait to see you," and made sure we had a table. When we arrived that evening, the same woman recognized me immediately as part of the Romanian family she'd turned away that afternoon. Her face fell. She turned to her colleague and had us seated at a cramped table at the very end -- despite the reservation being for 4 and my name already written down for the good table she'd set aside for "New York." There is no version of this that isn't about where she thought we were from. The only thing that changed between "fully booked" and a warm welcome was a US phone number, and the only thing that changed between that welcome and a bad table was seeing our faces. By that point I was too unsettled to even touch the drink I'd ordered -- we just paid and left. Genuinely one of the most uncomfortable, humiliating experiences I've had at a restaurant. Do not go here.

The Barolo tasting was thoughtfully curated, showcasing the depth, elegance, and diversity of the region--from structured, age-worthy expressions to more approachable, aromatic pours. Each wine was introduced with genuine passion and deep knowledge, not in a rehearsed way, but with the warmth of people who truly live and breathe Barolo. We learned so much about terroir, producers, and vintages without it ever feeling overwhelming. The charcuterie board was the perfect companion: beautifully presented, featuring high-quality local cured meats, cheeses, and accompaniments that elevated each glass. Nothing felt generic--every bite was intentional and paired beautifully with the wines. What really sets La Vite Turchese apart is the atmosphere. Tucked right in the heart of Barolo town, it feels intimate, relaxed, and authentic--exactly what you hope for in a wine experience here. The service was welcoming, attentive, and never rushed, making us feel like guests rather than customers.

Wow, great experience…read more Stefano listened to what type of experiance we were looking for, and pulled 4 wines that lead us on a journey to explain and discover the region. He had a great selection of regional wines, with prices that were very non-tourist. He insisted his wife select a cheese to compliment the wine, great decision. His shop hasn't been there very long, but what a contrast to the mass tourist stuff we got at the wine museum. Go find this place. If you are into wine, it is worth it.

This a great place to do a little wine tasting and to pick up some wine from the Cinque Terre region. One of the wines we sampled and immediately purchased was the Sciacchetra, a dry dessert wine produced only in the Cinque Terre. I'm not usually a fan of dessert wine, but I enjoyed the Sciacchetra. This wine is not exported out of the area due to the limited production quantity, so you should buy it if you are in the area. Vineria Santa Maria was one of the few places that allowed you to sample the wine for about 9 euro. They offered a bottle for about 33 euro and I noticed that this variety can easy go up to 60 to 80 euro per bottle. You can also purchase other varieties of white wine from Cinque Terre and the surrounding regions as well. If I ever find myself back in Vernazza, I will definitely stop in for more wine from Vineria Santa Maria.

My wife and I split the Trofie Al Pesto E Fagiolini and the Pizza Con Prosciutto Crudo Di Parma. We liked both--no ragrets! (If you don't get that reference, get off Yelp and go to Yellow Pages or Trip Advisor) However, we expect to be wowed here in Italy, and while the food was enjoyable, we wouldn't recommend it.
