My appointment for a Covid Vaccine was for 3:50pm, at 5:00pm I still was not seen. The staff member could only see 2 people an hour--but they scheduled 6 people per hour. I finally left without a vaccine. This was the second time I have had problem. The first was for a Covid Test that was scheduled for 12 noon but wasn't taken till 2pm. The person said they had to got to lunch, which is great, but don't schedule anyone if that is the case. Horrible system, and no a waste of time. NEVER GOING BACK read more

If you can't get in to see your doctor, or have no health insurance like a growing number of Americans these days, then CVS's Minute Clinic is a good option. I perused their website to find out how much a visit here would set me back. It states $79-$89 for an exam. I was charged the former. There are no doctors on staff, only Nurse Practitioners, and maybe a PA at some locations. Stephanie, the CRNP I saw was great. She didn't rush through with me. She asked a lot of questions about my symptoms, and explained things well. Turns out I wasn't dying...but had an upper respiratory tract infection. She explained why my usual Z-pack wouldn't work, and suggested I buy Mucinex D (the type kept behind the pharmacy counter and away from drug dealers). Four days later, my cough is gone, but I now have a sinus infection. Maybe the Z-pack wouldn't have been a bad idea...certainly cheaper than the Mucinex. The only drawback is that you may have to wait to see someone. The website said they take a mandatory break from 2-3 on weekdays, but there was a sticky note on the sign-in computer (at 1pm when I arrived) saying that after the next person that was on the list they'd be on break until 3:30. Oh well, I put my name on the list, left, and came back around 3:00. I didn't have to wait until 3:30, as Stephanie took me about 15 minutes earlier, and at that time there was no one else waiting. So, I guess it is a crap shoot as to whether or not you'll have to wait. And if you're feeling crappy and can't get an appointment with your doctor, this beats going to the Emergency Room. read more

DO NOT come here for a covid test. I took a covid test on Thursday (11/12), called before hand and they said to expect results in 2-3days. After I took my test they said to expect results in 5days, it's now day 10 and I still do not have results. Update: finally received a call on day 11 with results, however still no email or document loaded to My Chart. Update2: 13 days after testing and after over a dozen plus phone calls I finally received a copy of my results. read more

Terrible experience to get a Covid booster. There is no one to check you in except a kiosk and the providers do not engage with anyone sitting in the waiting area. I had to interrupt them as they called out someones name whose appointment was scheduled 20 minutes later than mine. The place is dirty and once inside the patient room, it was a disorganized mess. Took 20 minutes to get the actual shot once inside the room and my total time was 60 minutes even though I had an appointment. Its Chaos, very poor customer service and not clean. Go somewhere else. read more

I took my mother to Minute Clinic for an infection that was still pretty mild but had the potential to become a big kidney infection with a hospital stay. She was miserable and I was pretty worried about her. It was after-hours, and there was no where else to take her. I don't trust a lot of the other "Doc-In-Boxes", but I know Minute Clinic follows health care treatment and testing guidelines. Patricia, the nurse practitioner, really took time perform a thorough history and physical. She was also very good about including my mother in treatment planning. She took into account a lot of factors that could complicate things for my mother. That's a biggie, since my mother is of a very different culture and elderly. There is also the added convenience of the pharmacy on site. It would have been pretty crummy to drag my mother to yet another site just to pick up antibiotics. My mother is feeling so much better now, as am I. The only downside is that there is no bathroom dedicated to the Minute Clinic - so if you need to provide a urine sample, you have to leave the Minute Clinic area, find the bathroom (which is very dimly lit), and find your way back. A dedicated Minute Clinic bathroom would be nice if one has to provide a urine sample. Now would I go there if I were bleeding out? Hell no, that's what the ER is for! But, for something like an infection that needs a same day sick visit and your PCP office is closed, Minute Clinic is a good alternative. read more

Utter incompetence. Very simple symptoms and should have been an easy visit. Told me I had no fever. I had aches, chills and was trembling. She said it was98.7. Got home 10 minutes later and took my temp and it was 101. Worst throat culture of my life. Came back negative. I am not convinced she even did right. She had no clue. This place saves no time or expense. Go see a real doctor or NP. I will never return. read more

This Minute Clinic saved me when I came down with a raging, nuisance infection for which I needed antibiotics. No appointment necessary, I was in and out within 15 minutes. Though I did have to wait nearly an hour, it was better than the alternative, ie waiting for the next day. Their hours are 8 to 8, with a lunch break from 2-2:30. If you get there before 8 and manage to sign in, they WILL see you, even if it is 8:25 by the time they are free...yeah. Cannot emphasize how appreciative I was. Go here when desperate. You won't be desperate any longer. read more

I had to go in for a woman infection and the nurse was amazing. She took me even though it was her lunch and listened and helped me with my needs. She even sent the culture to get more information for me. read more

The Minute Clinic was one of the worst medical experiences to date. DO NOT use the minute cliinic located in Cabin John Shopping Center, Potomac, MD. During the July 4th weekend, our house guest had a fever, severe sore throat and sinus infection. Since our doctor was out of town, we tried Minute Clinic. Because our guest did not test positive for Mono or strep throat, the nurse would not prescribe an antibiotic. She told him to take motrin, and then charged a fee. She was also very rude, and it was obvious she did not want to be at work. To say the least, this was a very disappointing experience, so I called Minute Clinic to complain. The manager, Alexis Blount told me that they are unable to diagnose a sinus infection or anything other than mono or strep. I wish they had told us this information when we went to Minute Clinic because we would have gone elsewhere. read more

Do not go to this Minute Clinic. I was in town for work and had a sore throat, which I was sure was strep, since I get it pretty often. I went in and waited for over 45 minutes, while Natalie, the "doctor", was more concerned about getting antibacterial soap refilled in her office than any of the waiting patients. When it was finally my turn, I told her that I thought I had strep and she immediately put on a mask, started wiping everything with antibacterial wipes and told me to "not breathe her way" in case it is strep. "She doesn't want to catch it." She did a test and told me that it wasn't strep, but couldn't tell me what it was and gave a super thick liquid to "gargle" with and sent me home. This "mouthwash" was like molasses, I couldn't even get it to drain to my throat, let alone gargle with it. I went to see my doctor when I returned home and he immediately told me that I had strep and needed antibiotics. And he gave me real mouthwash to gargle. It was real unfortunate, that I could've treated this two days before. Now I know that I will never go back to this Minute Clinic. read more

The nurse practitioner who saw me at this MinuteClinic was horrible. I came down with severe symptoms four days before my wedding and went to her desperate for help. She did a strep test that was negative but even when I explained to her that I was leaving town in 24 hours and wouldn't be able to get treatment or medicine at my destination wedding and honeymoon, she still wouldn't prescribe antibiotics as a precaution. I am all for being conservative about prescribing antibiotics but it seemed unfair given the extreme circumstances - my wedding date and the fact that I was going on an expensive overseas vacation that would potentially be ruined by being sick. She basically told me to take cold medicine and rest. She also wasted a full hour of my time and I was the first one there when it opened that morning. I had a feeling this wasn't the best I could do so I asked my Dad to set up an appointment with his Doctor the same day. Sure enough, his doctor was very concerned and not only prescribed me an antibiotic but also ordered a blood test to rule out mono - he said he wouldn't normally do that but given my circumstances he wanted to take all precautions. I appreciated that since the MinuteClinic woman didn't seem to see it that way! To add insult to injury, I got a call later the same day from the MinuteClinic woman. She wanted to thank me for letting another person go ahead of me in line.. because she was confused about who I was. I told her she had the wrong person and she got really confused and flustered. I will never go to this MinuteClinic again! read more

An experienced, knowledgeable Nurse Practitioner, computerized sign-in, and relatively short wait made this visit to Minute Clinic far better than we could have imagined--and much easier than trying to see an MD on short notice. Hopefully the other Minute Clinics are this professional and efficient--we're glad we chose this Bethesda location. Thank you CVS, for providing this valuable service to the community, and for utilizing the best people for the work--the NP on 2.1.14 was exemplary. Highly recommended. If CVS continues to grow in this market, I'd recommend making more space for the Minute Clinic--that was the only thing that was missing! Keep up the great work. read more

My daughter went to Bethesda clinic for her periodic UTI. Bill for visit was $100 and later bill for urinalysis was a whopping $213.50--Hey, say that again--$213.50! Why was the specimen sent out at all when CVS prescribed her usual antibiotic right away without waiting for the test result four days later. Moreover, I understand there is a simple on-scene test. I like CVS but I feel ripped off. read more

Poor quality of care! I was having fever and pain near my lower abdominal area. There were only nurses running these clinics. There were no physicians on-site. I asked if any doctors were supervising these nurses and they said that one was off-site and could be called should there be any complications. The nurse diagnosed me with UTI and prescribed me antibiotics and sent me home. I was still having pain so I made a same day appointment with an internal medicine doctor. He was a DO. The physician did a much better history and physical. He ordered an abdominal X-ray and ordered labs which were available at his office. The X-ray showed signs of a kidney stone which they later confirmed with ultrasound. He could have just done what the nurse did but he was suspicious and ordered the appropriate tests. Now, I know why nurses are nurses and doctors are doctors. The physician was far better trained and more thorough. I will never use one of these clinics again. It's one thing to save 50 cents on a carton of milk but my health is not something I'm willing to compromise. These clinics are unsafe and should be discontinued read more
