When his bloodwork results came in, nobody contacted us. We had to call the office ourselves only to be told his vitamin D was low and that a prescription would be sent to his pharmacy. When I reached out to the doctor, she told us to "just buy it over the counter because most insurances don't cover it." Insurance was never the issue!!! We simply wanted the prescription that THEY told us they were sending. When I asked what dosage is needed to take and what exactly to buy OTC, I received no response at all. My husband is 60 years old, 6'1, 195 pounds and 15% body fat, impeccable labs, great blood pressure and very low PSA lab because he takes HRT.
