We came here for my daughters Covid vaccine and both doctors we saw were very nice and nurturing. Once we got in the room the process was quick but the first time we went it took over an hour to be seen even with an appointment. Asking a 2.5 year old to wait over an hour was hard but the doctor explained they double booked her and was nice once we got in the room. I had an appointment for 3:30pm for a TB test reading, which would take 1 min to read. I arrived at 3:22pm to check-in. The clinicial for that day (Miriam Lewis NP) decided to take a walk-in patient before me which took more than 30mins to finish. I had an appointment and she decided to see the other patient first, who probably came a few mins ahead of me, who had no appointment. My case could easily take 2mins max, I just needed her signature for the TB test form. Instead, she decided to make me wait more than 30mins so that she can see a patient who had no appointment, that other patient was in for a general health exam. My case legitly took a minute to print out the paperwork. She saw me by 4pm. And the print-out was done by 4:01pm. She should have seen me 1st knowing that my case would only take a minute and I had an appointment. Then she could have seen the other patient who had no appointment and take her time to do the exam for that other patient. So basically my appointment was pointless. Stay away! Stay away! Stay away! After waiting 3 1/2 hours at this 210-Minute-Clinic, my daughter was misdiagnosed, overcharged, and referred out to urgent care (which I mistakenly thought this glorified school nurse's office was @ $129 for a 10 minute visit --oh snap! "minute" refers to the amount of time you're allotted with the Are-You-Really-a-Nurse, not the agonizing hours spent sitting in CVS's hard plastic chairs exchanging germs with the other infected miserables!). Observing my daughter shivering under a blanket and complaining of classic flu symptoms including chills, body ache, lethargy, runny nose, sore throat, headache, and eye pressure, the nurse told my daughter she likely had the flu, there was no point in administering a flu test because it was too late for Tamiflu, and she had to refer us to urgent care because of the eye pain. She gave us "explanatory paperwork for the urgent care doctor to "streamline the process." Of course, we had to wait at urgent care, too. Eventually, they tested my daughter for strep and flu, ultimately confirming her flu diagnosis. The doctor brushed off the eye pain, telling us that it was one of a cluster of flu symptoms she was experiencing. He questioned why the Minute Clinic nurse didn't just test her for flu to explain all the symptoms. When I shared the referral paperwork, he laughed and said, "first of all, the only thing she wrote was a diagnostic code that means 'eye pain' and second she overcharged you." When we finally got home 7 hours later, I called corporate Minute Clinic requesting only a refund for my wasted visit. The person I spoke with apologized, agreed with me, and promised a quick resolution. Six weeks later, risk management is standing by the nurse, claiming eye pain is serious (because she ignored and failed to document much else), and the nurse was right to refer us to investigate the eye pain. They refuse to issue a refund but offered a $50 gift certificate good toward our next misdiagnosis. read more

It's sad. I rush across the Valley with a raging ear ache, desperate for help. I arrive at 5:10pm, the guy in the white coat opens the door just to tell me, "We're closed! What a disaster! I needed a TB test so I could volunteer at my daughter's school. I had them twice before at my doctor's office, but I was looking for a more convenient option. I called my insurance company (Anthem) and the rep said that Minute Clinic is In-network and the TB test would be covered. The rep also said that Minute Clinics around the country bill Anthem directly - I just needed to provide my insurance card. When I got there, the nurse said that they do not bill Anthem, but I could submit a claim and provided me with a print out. She administered the test and I was to come back in 48-72 hours. I came back within the indicated time and was shocked to learn that the test was positive. I was not exhibiting any signs nor had any of the risk factors. According to the nurse on duty that day, the area of the test was at 10mm which was the minimum size for possible positive test. Then again, she said it could be a false positive - the area simply could have been irritated. So now I had to take time off work (lost wages) to go to the doctor which I was trying to avoid in the first place. He looked at the area of the test and said it was negative - it's not the size, it's whether the area is raised or not. And he sent me off for a chest x-ray as then required by the positive test. Surprise, the result of the x-ray was negative! So, I submitted the claim for the original test done at Minute Clinic and Anthem only reimbursed me $7.50 of the $39.00 because Minute Clinic is in-network and $7.50 is the max allowable even though they got $39.00 out of me. Now I know why they won't bill the insurance company!! If I had gone to my doctor, the test would have cost me zero. PLUS, I had to pay an additional $67.00 for the chest x-ray plus the parking at the doctor's office and the lost wages for taking time off work. I will NEVER go to Minute Clinic again. Maybe it's fine for folks who don't have medical insurance (and say what you will about insurance companies!), but I will leave my medical care to my medical professionals who know how to properly administer and read tests! read more

I don't like negative reviews but this is a HEALTH issue. My teenager went in 3 weeks ago for a bad sore throat- including "white" spots on her tonsils. I was alarmed to hear by the nurse practitioner diagnosed "allergies" and nothing was done. She went back 2 weeks later feeling worse - she got the strep test at my insistence but no meds, and again was diagnosed with "allergies." Today, much sicker- she went to a REAL doctor - she has full blown tonsillitis, infected tonsils and is in dire pain. I'm furious. What kind of allergy involves infected tonsils!? Buyer beware. I was foolish to allow 2 diagnosis that I instinctively felt were wrong. I did a better job diagnosing it myself! Very nice experience here. I needed to take a TB test for a job. I made an appointment/reserved my place in line online. I showed up, checked-in, and hardly waited because of this feature. I truly appreciated that feature since my time is really limited right now and being able to know what I was getting myself into time-wise was extremely helpful. I am reporting Fraud/Unfair Business Practice with CVS Minute Clinic, 19353 Victory Blvd, Reseda,CA on October 1, 2019 visit for a flu shot. The Nurse Practitioner claimed my insurance, after careful review on her computer and because it "had a GREEN light", and claimed my insurance would therefore cover the flu injection. Based upon her vehement claim that my insurance would cover the flu shot, I agreed to proceed. However, then she also had me a sign a document, along with a Credit Card, to cover the costs. This seemed inappropriate. She assured me, however, that it was something all Minute Clinic's were asked to do and nothing to worry about. I felt pressured, but agreed. Well, it now turns out, based upon a conversation from my insurance company with your Minute Clinic Billing, that the Nurse Practitioner saw something else in the site that she accessed: it said "we need further records to the benefits of the patient." What did this mean??? It meant my insurance would not cover the cost of the injection. She did NOT inform me of the issue and proceeded with the injection. Was she new? It doesn't matter. These folks should be more equipped to handle situations. THIS IS FRAUD and UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE!!! Just to get more money. It is disgusting that CVS would scoop to such actions. And it is unusual, and I am appalled. In 2018, CVS in Tarzana, 18441 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, CA, the Pharmacists provided me with a flu injection and my current insurance covered the costs. This fraudulent action was not always the case with CVS site. They were accountable and honest when one year I went to CVS at the very same site, 19353 Victory Blvd., Reseda, CA for a flu injection at the Pharmacy (not Minute Clinic). The Pharmacy customer service person advised me that my insurance would NOT be covered. This was honest. On October 1, 2019, the CVS Minute Clinic as this site, 19353 Victory Blvd, Reseda CA was not accountable and dishonest. Money Money!!! Process wise they are not at all good. We paid $129 for the visit. They said we will call you back to see if there is any improvement or else will prescribe antibiotics. Thats all.. I wont be in touch with that Nurse ever again. Then again another Nurse called after 3 days. When I said no improvement then they are asking to visit again and pay $129. Because this is new nurse and she wanted to check again. This is ridiculous. Why the hell we should pay $129 again and again.. it is supposed to be economical when we go to Minute Clinic but this seems to be costliest one.... I went to get a tetanus shot, my appointment was at 2:30pm, I showed up at 2:15pm, I got in at about 4:10 pm, the people before me had the 2:20pm, after me 2:40pm, so that means they schedule appt in 10min intervals, why do they do that, it is insane to wait in line for 1 1/2 hours just to get a shot, and the doctor? Inside sort of rude too, did not want to hear my explanation about why I needed a shot ( she was running late with 3 more patients at 4:30 pm and closes at 5:30 pm. Went in to get a very sore throat checked out since I needed to travel the next day. Arrived just after opening, was seen right away. Turns out I had a sinus infection (thought so), both ears were infected, and the sinus drip was causing bronchitis.
