In the past, the staff had always been understanding when I was running late because of work. This time was completely different. A gentleman I had never seen before appeared to close early. I walked around to the other window and knocked, because I recognized an employee who told me to hold on. Instead, another employee I had never seen came to the window, shrugged her shoulders, and motioned "too bad" as if I were a child. I always treated the staff with kindness, tipped well, and appreciated their hard work, because I know what it's like to work in customer service. That made this experience especially disappointing. After being a loyal customer, I expected a little more courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me not to return. You can get pretty good recommendations from the employees also. This shop is small but they have a really good selection for roll-your-own tobacco and vaping supplies. Most of the 30mL bottles of vape juice/salts are 2/$25 (I've paid as much as $35 at other Vape Shops in the area!). They also stock the replacement pods I use (Smok Novo) for $12/3-pack and that's cheaper than buying online (with shipping). They keep the shop very clean and it always smells really nice. I went to Rise Dispensaries in Joliet and let me tell you how this happened. I entered the town of Joliet after several run ins with very bad guys of no integrity kicking my ass and kicking me out for no other reason than me being strongly happy in my education, religion and personality. I was told I was stupid for thinking that love conquers all. I was told that I was dumb for praying to God daily. I was told to leave my shelter simply because I chose to wear underwear on the porch. Well, I got to Joliet for shelter through a service that is supposed to help women like me and that is how Rise and I met up. I never really took the Pace bus for anything besides going to see a boy I met ...so I thought, why don't I take the Pace bus to meet some people who knows about weed and gives me a receipt for my purchase? I have nothing but receipts to represent my activity and day to day...I trust that I will be fairly treated as a consumer and citizen so I continue to patronize cannabis stores for the engagement and safe keeping. Well let's start on convenience. After being told the specific route on the bus through google, I then got on to notice that the bus gives no announcement about where tf youre at. Being new to this town, I don't really know my surroundings to truly know where I am, so an announcement of stops would be helpful. So, I missed the stop before and got off sooner the next time and then the third time, I stood near the driver and inquired about where to go. The driver was very helpful, so I appreciate that. When I arrived at my stop near the Mcdonald's, I noticed that Wendy's was near my destination through another peek at google and thought "dang, I should have eaten a jr. bacon cheeseburger instead of this McDouble"...I sighed, got up and crossed the intersection to get to Rise. Once I got inside. I was warmly greeted at the entrance where a security guard was patrolling and smiling cashier was servicing. After she received my identification, I went inside to order from the kiosk. I declined the help since I am familiar with the process at other dispensaries and order a hybrid popcorn flower which was divine. I partake in cannabis because I'm a loner...and then I partake in cannabis because I'm a friend zoner.
