It as good to learn that Sub Zero could help me out with that wish, and also Little Calf Creamery in T.O. and Westlake Village also can oblige. The good news about Sub Zero is that you also get to enjoy the magical experience of watching the creation appear before your eyes, with the added high drama of the liquid nitrogen "show". I was able to customize to get a plant-based milk base, with the addition of mint flavoring and chocolate chips. It was delicious - creamy and flavorful. Perfect to sit outside with on their patio space in the late afternoon sun. Their building overlooks the hills to the south, which offer a pastoral view. It would be even lovelier if large power lines didn't run along Cochran at this point, but what can you do? The staff member behind the counter was very friendly, and super helpful when I told her that it was my first time to visit. Dear Hubby had been there once before. I believe he tried their Halo Halo, which is one of his favorite desert treats, and not easy to find in Simi. We will definitely be back, and I can't wait to take Sweet Granddaughter (just turned 7); she'll be blown away by the whole experience!

It tasted incredibly authentic, and the portion was huge--definitely enough to share, though you may not want to because it's that good! I couldn't remember what I had ordered the first time, so she helped me pick out two different drinks to try -- the Sandy Blonde and the Maui Latte. I ordered them half sweet, and they were still a little sweeter than I normally prefer, but honestly, they were amazing nonetheless. I'm usually a black coffee/Americano kind of girl, but every once in a while I get a serious sweet tooth and want something fun and indulgent -- and Makenna Coffee is PERFECT for that.
