My mother and son were on vacation in the area. They had stayed at this location previously, and had a very good experience, so were very much looking forward to their stay. However, as they were checking in, my mother started to feel... off. Kendall and the other person at the front desk were EXTREMELY helpful, offering to call for an ambulance, and help her any way that they could. My son took her to the hospital, and it turns out she had suffered a stroke. I flew out the next day from Pittsburgh to be with them. Upon my arrival, I went to the front desk to change everything over from her name to my name and credit card. When I explained what I was doing, Kendall immediately asked how my mom was doing and my son (who was terrified but brave during all of this). He expressed genuine concern, and offered his assistance. She was in the hospital several days, and every day at least one of the staff members asked about her, and checked in to make sure we were doing ok. When she got released from the hospital, rather than rest, she wanted to go straight to the front desk to thank them and show them she was doing ok (well not 100% but she was still with us, and somewhat able to walk). We stayed there for several more days as she gained her strength back, and they treated her so wonderfully the entire time, making sure she had eaten, that she had everything that she needed, that she was comfortable. Like they had known us their entire life. This was an extremely rough time for our family, and literally EVERYONE at this hotel was amazing to us the entire time. I wish I could remember everybody's name, but honestly the entire week was a blur to me. I remember Kendall, as we had the most interaction with him, but unfortunately not the others, but believe me, they all went above and beyond what I could ever expected. The amount of sincere compassionate shown to us is something I will never forget. Please know that you have an amazing team at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Chanhassan, Minnesota, and you now have a loyal family of visitors for life (as a matter of fact, my mom and son are already planning their next trip there.... Once she regains use of her arm and can walk better. Thank you so much to this team and everything they did for us during a very dark time.

The air conditioner turned on and off at night so I found myself sweating in the evening on several occasions. The folks in the hallway were LOUD and rowdy for weeknight stay. I stayed for a work trip and kept busy enough where I really only used the room to sleep. If I had to work from the hotel I wouldn't like to stay in the room to do so.

The lake has a fair amount of motor boat traffic, but is crystal clear and allows to swim, fish, and kayak. The neighborhood is suburban, surrounded by developments, only 15-20 min from MSP. Stores are a 2 mile drive away. The house is generous and well equipped with cooking utensils, books, toys, games, kayaks, volleyball net, bikes, table tennis etc to providing ample entertainment. The master suite with the huge bathtub is humongous. The two bedrooms upstairs (a queen bed and a bunk bed in each) are generous in size and share a bathroom. The fourth bedroom on the main level is small in comparison and has more noise from kitchen and laundry room. Living room, master bedroom, and porch offer great Lake views. A gas fire place offers warmth in fall. We enjoyed s'mores and vino Rosso, generously provided by the host. The decor of the house is conservative. The kitchen and bathrooms were spotless and the grounds well groomed. A search for a lost shoe sent me diving under beds and behind couches, revealing that these areas need to be addressed by the housekeeping team. We had a wonderful time at the house. Adults, preteens and toddler loved the property and the sports opportunities. The lake is very close to the house - parents of young children must be on guard. A great place to enjoy family time.

We brought our 10 pound dog with us and across from the hotel is a large grass area for him to use the bathroom. The hotel is also VERY dog friendly and they put his name on the VIP board by a welcoming bowl of dog treats. The staff is amazing and I loved that I could text with questions or requests. They're very responsive, friendly, and helpful. The check-in process was quick and easy as well. When we arrived in our room, I had requested bottles of Aqua Panna, duck fat chocolate chip cookies, and the Oregon Pinot Noir. All items were ready in the room and we finished the bottle of wine, it was great, and the cookies were amazing with a great texture! Somewhere between chewy and crispy. Our room is very cool, like a Chicago loft with brick walls and a city view. The bathroom is very nice as well, I love the soaps and shampoo/conditioner they have. Overall, we had a great time and the property (which was renovated in 2023) is in exceptional shape. The only reason for the missed star is due to a couple of the amenities (see below). Check-In: This was a breeze. Super quick, they found my reservation (which was through a third-party), found my IHG Membership, gave me a free gift, and I was off to my room. The lobby was clean and well-kept. No strange smells like you sometimes have...just clean and inviting. The Room: My son and I got the King suite, one bed, with plenty of space, a TV, desk, closest, two side tables, a microwave and cooler. The bathroom was clean but had two things that were a bit strange. The shower door only opened one way, but it seems that it should have been reversed because ours opened at the back of the shower, so you had to reach in (or step in if you aren't tall), turn the water on and get blasted by that initial cold. Secondly, the bathroom door did not have a lock on it - maybe this was intentional since it was a single bed, but for those with kids, this could be awkward. I know even my wife wants the door to lock if it were just us, so I thought this was weird regardless. No coffee maker in the room, but you can request one if desired. Our door was not air tight but we did not have issues with noise on our stay. Fitness Room: did not visit, but looked to have several machines and weights. Nobody was there when I peeked in. Pool - Pool was indoor, not heated. There was limited seating inside (10 chairs I believe). Additional seating outside. The chairs were limited enough that while I was in the pool with my son, a group came and started moving our stuff for us. We ended up having half a sports team come in and in got REALLY LOUD REALLY QUICK. So if there are more than a kid or two, the sound will echo and it won't be relaxing at all. NO HOT TUB. Breakfast - Continental, with bagels, biscuits, bread, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, juices, milk, coffee, and tea. Pancake machine was operational and clean. Hot offerings included sausage patty, turkey sausage patty, biscuits and gravy, and two kinds of omelettes. My son and I made a pretty delicious breakfast sandwich using the sausage patty and an egg/cheese omelet on a bagel. The serving area is EXTREMELY SMALL, so once it got busy, seating filled up quick and it was difficult to maneuver through the serving area, especially with people going in different directions but all trying to pass through the middle. No bacon unfortunately, but still above average for a normal hotel breakfast. Other amenities: Ice machine on every floor, 24 hour station for coffee and tea in the lobby, multiple well-lit entrances around the building.
