Tight fit!
Brandon K.

Older KOA, tight gravel spots, train railway and heavy diesel repair shop just outside the fence, no cable TV and the dog park is more of a mud hole. However that being said, the absolute worst, most unwelcoming lady working behind the desk with a horrible attitude immediately had us looking for a new campground. If it wasn't for the fact that we were in town to visit friends, and no campground within 100 miles had vacancy, we'd leave. I've staid at multiple KOAs in multiple different states, and this one by far has been my worst experience. Update, in response to Owners reply: Now that we have left, I feel free to add all the issues we had. I was more than afraid that the one rude lady would have tried to have us kicked out if we posted the truth, and with me out of town leaving the wife alone, that wasn't a risk I was willing to take. I'll start of by saying all staff besides the one that "greeted" us were amazing. One staffer helped me get into that site, agreeing that there was no way I could've made the turn. Tom, the only reason we were able to get my 45' Triple Axle Toyhauler in that sight was because the site behind us was LUCKILY not occupied at both time of arrival and departure. I had to pull through and back out through the site behind mine. I'll attach a picture of the sight if I would've had to make the turn in. After we realized that we couldn't make it in, I asked if we could use one of the 30 amp sights. The rude lady said that you don't allow 50 amp campers in 30 amp sights. Well, later that night, we counted 6- 50 amp campers in 30 amp sights. Both a groundskeeper and myself walked multiple spots asking if they were available, which rude lady responded they were reserved. I've never heard of being able to reserve spots at KOA, so after we left I made a call. Apparently you can request but not reserve any sights. At this post I was beyond insulted by the rude lady, but we were able to park our rig (see above.) The wife, knowing I was upset went in to pay. She went in thinking i was in the wrong, but got the same hostile, unwelcoming attitude from that lady. After paying, she mentioned that we own a golf cart, and the rude lady said that, and I quote "We don't LIKE people to use their own golf carts as they may be confused with KOA workers." First, she never said that it wasn't allowed, second it isn't anywhere in your rules on your brochure or website. Not to mention it's a lifted golf cart and we don't have yellow KOA shirts that say staff on them. After hours, we decided to use the golf cart, as I'm a disabled veteran with a bad ankle. The rude lady once again showed her disdain, stopped us, and speaking to me said "I thought I told your wife golf carts weren't allowed!" Funny thing is that my wife was sitting next to me. I'm not her keeper, you can talk to her and nothing says we were in the wrong. But for fear of being kicked out, we parked it. We received a call the next morning saying it wasn't allowed, just to push the issue one last time. I've never not been allowed to use my golfcart, at any campground I've been to, KOA or not. It seems to me she was making up rules on the go! Let's not forget they wanted to charge $10 for 2 friends that visited us for about 3 hours and didn't use ANY of their facilities... Ridiculous rule... Icing on the cake was the rude lady saying we couldn't park in our sight, because part of the truck stuck out. Funny thing is the rude lady was camping 2 spots up from us, parking her car half in and out of the road. Tom, I can promise you that as long as you have that lady working anywhere near the front desk, receptions, I'll never return. Not that you'd care anyway.

Campground has lots of trees very nice

We visited in a small travel trailer and had one of the pull thru sites, #52. It seemed to be one of the few with no shade and will request a different site next week when we return. However, it's convenient to everything and not a bad site, just others we like better after seeing the layout. They deliver your firewood to your site for you. A small bundle at the store is $7 or you can upgrade to $10 for twice as much and it's delivered right to your site. We stayed 2 nights while visiting relatives in the area and my boys (twins age 11) loved it! The mini golf ($2/player) is clean and well maintained, though the cups are higher than the greens on a few holes leaving us frustrated on a few shots.. shuffleboard was a hit (free) and the game room with air hockey ($.75/game) was where they spent most of their time. The game goes until someone scores 7 points. The other games were $.50 each. The pool was clean and had many chairs, though on the weekend it had more people than we wanted to hang with so we didn't do the pool. Wifi is available but very slow. I don't agree that it's not a destination spot as we've been to many campgrounds that definitely are NOT.. this KOA has the nicest and caring group of people working there as well as immaculate grounds, that I would recommend it highly. Obviously there are a multitude of things to do in the area and this is a great base camp for that. My only issue with all KOA's in general is that my boys cannot pop up a tent outside our tiny trailer with plenty of space and grass. That is a KOA rule so I can't pick on this place too bad about it. We are returning again next week for 3 nights and my boys are excited to stay again

And it's quiet and calming…read moresituated among the woods of Victoria, Minnesota just 29 miles southwest of downtown Minneapolis. I absolutely loved every minute of my one night stay here! For any person, avid camper, adventurer, tourist, or simply just a local wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city or looking for a short weekend getaway...this Lake Auburn Campground is it! Alright well, although it may not have all the amenities I look for when camping out (like showers, flush toilets and electrical AMP Power), I was easily able to overlook all of those additions for the simple fact this place is so easily accessible for folks like myself who showed up randomly without a reservation and needing a simple spot to rest for the evening. I couldn't have been more pleased and satisfied with my experience here. Let me run down all the terrific details this Carver Park Lake Auburn Campground offers.... - They have 57 campsites. - Prices are $15.44 for each campsite per night and then with 6.8% sales tax it = $16.50 in total. - They accept cash or check payments. - There's Wi-Fi, though cell phone reception works perfectly. - You can purchase firewood for $5 per bundle. - Check-in is at 4pm and you can check-out as late as 3pm. - You can re-register for each additional night starting at 11am. - Make reservations ahead of time by calling (763) 559 - 6700. - Quiet hours are 10pm - 7am. - Maximum of 2 tents and 6 guests per site or 1 tent and 1 RV. - Each site has a firepit and picnic table for barbecuing. - Pets are permitted at campsites but must be leashed among the grounds. - Even beer and wine are permitted, though no kegs or hard liquor. - How cool...they rent canoes, rowboats and single kayaks by the lake for $15 every 2 hours, and tandem kayaks for $20 every 2 hours. - Dump Station is $5. Some last things I'd like to mention.... - I discovered this Carver Park Lake Auburn Campground through the amazing app on my phone called Campendium. I highly recommend it for all camping enthusiasts. - The entrance road into the campground was not paved but easily drivable on very flat ground. - Once past the entrance station, I simply looked for an unoccupied campsite, backed my car into the space, set up my tent and then returned to the front section with my written check payment inside an envelope and released it into a white drop box. - I was able to pitch my tent on nice, fluffy grass which made the padding for lying down inside my tent that much more comfortable. Ya know, a lot of campgrounds are situated along hard, dirt ground that can make for difficult night sleeps. But not here, I always appreciate setting up on the grass! - Even though it was no big deal for me, there weren't any showers and only vault toilets. I guess just keep that in mind for when visiting. - The town of Victoria, MN is only 2 miles away and has all the extra necessities you'd expect from a big town like restaurants, grocery stores and even a Dairy Queen to stop in for a blizzard dessert treat at night. And that's it. I can't say enough good things about this Carver Park Lake Auburn Campground. Had I been staying in the area longer I'd happily camp out another few nights. In the end, I just keep thinking about how it was so peaceful here among the charming woodsy outdoors of Minnesota...I hope I can return during my 2022 summer cross country road trip.

Looking forward to checking this out this summer!!! The people working there were very nice and…read morehelpful
