Downtown Furniture is my new favorite furniture store-and it should be yours too. Joshua was incredibly helpful when my wife and I wandered in looking for some very specific items. He jumped into action (literally-he's got so much energy!) and showed us a few pieces and clearly explained the pros and cons of each. We decided on a couch, a bed set with mattress and night stands-all to be delivered the next working day, which happened to be Labor Day. On the date of delivery, we got a phone call at the anticipated time and the movers arrived to deliver our purchases. Not only did the deliver, but they assembled the bed too-a chore I was not looking forward to, and was much appreciative of them doing. They were professional and took care to not damage the doorway with the heavy items. Our new furniture looks terrific and I'm so glad that I didn't settle elsewhere and continued my search into Downtown. I'll be back!

Outstanding "customer service" !…read more I was in contact with JOE for several months re: carpet for our new home. Because of scheduling, we had to make MANY phone calls back and forth (i.e. playing "phone tag"). But NONE of that deterred JOE! When I finally met him ... he had "samples" available for me ... and I chose one that day. Once again, because of scheduling, I had to CANCEL the first installation date and set another. Not to worry .... JOE was very accommodating and understanding! Carpet is installed ... and we Iove it! As others have said, "Great quality, for a great price." But the great "P.R", CUSTOMER SERVICE and "KINDNESS" of JOE is the reason I've taken the time to review, and highly recommend this business.

Requested install references & was told would be sent to me, never got them. When they came to remove existing carpet had guys who had never done it before, was told laminate would be done by 4 p.m. and guys were leaving at 7:30 pm, did not put 1/4 round on had to do it myself. Glue used to secure transition pieces was cheap and after one year of having laminate floor transition pieces are loose and planks have spacing between them. Would not recommend to anyone. Lesson learned.

This was going to be a good experience, right? When I went in, the consignment lady was so rude when I asked a few more questions and kept saying, "Well you didn't talk to me about this! I don't answer the phones on Saturday." Dropped off several things, she rejected almost all of them. I hope the 1 or 2 items she kept sell quickly, as I will never do business with her again.

I contacted Urban Renewal on February 23 about consigning several high-end pieces from a home I am…read moreclearing out for a deceased family member. I do not live locally and was only in town for a short period of time handling the estate, so timing and communication were important. The home contains quality furnishings, including a Taylor King sectional, a custom Vanguard dresser, a large Restoration Hardware rug, and other high-end items. After nearly three weeks of back-and-forth communication, they finally were going to come out on March 13 and picked up only two items--a sideboard and a rug. To my surprise, after our conversation with the driver on his way, they then declined the rug. I decided to tell him not to even come, and I would not be doing business with them and that their business structure was extremely unprofessional and excruciatingly painful to deal with. During prior communication, they asked what price I hoped to get for the rug. I suggested $800 for a $3000 rug as a starting point, fully acknowledging that I did not expect to recover what I originally paid. I specifically asked for their professional input since this is their business and they know the resale market. Instead of providing guidance, I was simply told my price "wasn't their happy price." That was the extent of the explanation. The entire process was unnecessarily frustrating. Communication is routed through a receptionist who acts as a gatekeeper, making it impossible to speak directly with the person actually making the consignment decisions. Everything is filtered through short emails or secondhand messages, which creates confusion and delays. For a business that relies on consignors bringing them quality merchandise, the lack of transparency, poor communication, and inefficient process is surprising. Clearing out an estate is already difficult, and this experience only made it more frustrating. I would not recommend working with this company. Their communication structure and overall business approach are not consumer-friendly.
