I considered it a convenience fee, as it is the only place on my way home from work. My two most recent visits were both scheduled appointments. Both of these times I had to wait past my appointment time to be seen. I don't mind a few minutes, but when someone has obviously just started a new job moments before my scheduled appointment time I find that rude. As I'm writing this, it is 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and the tech I was scheduled with is still not complete with the person before me. I set this appointment two weeks ago, and I'm very disappointed. I even arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time just in case they were ready for me early, no such luck. I finally reach the point where I could not wait anymore, politely told them that I had to go, and received a muttered "sorry" as a response. All in all, I like the work they do, I just wish that they valued my time and the repeat business. I guess if you've got time to spare, or just want to roll the dice ,it's worth a shot. However, if you have a busy schedule and really need to be in and out, this isn't the place you want Update: Although I have not tried to make an appointment again, I have returned as a walk in customer and have been very happy with the work that was done and the way that I was treated.

Sure enough, my cuticles bled when she nipped them, which is why you use sterilized tools. She said I did it when I rinsed my hands in the back. Enough said. I won't be back.

I hadn't had a salon manicure in over 20 years when I got my first dip manicure at a different salon (not here) a month ago. They didn't do the coffin shaping correctly, but overall I was happy so I went back for my next set. This time, in less than two weeks I had two of the nails rip off-- one of which was very painful-- another that was peeling off of my nail. I called Silver Nails and they were able to take me the same day and they did an amazing job fixing me up! They did the removal process properly (soaking as opposed to sliding an acrylic up under there and popping off the dip nail), the red dip did not leave me with stained fingers like the other salon did, and the shaping was perfect. Not only that, but it was less expensive than the other salon! I was ready to go back to my press on nails before they restored my faith. I will definitely only be coming here from now on!

They've recently started charging a little less if you pay in cash. I feel like that is good in theory except that sometimes I'm not sure where I'll land depending on the services I'm getting done. I do enjoy getting pedicures there and they have great scrubs and scents. Most recently I did the citrus and it did feel like it woke my legs up. I love the part where they put the hot towels. I've been here now several times for pedicures and just had my first gel manicure. For Mother's Day the manager was so sweet, she took my photo with my mother, and then presented us with a magnet with a picture with the two of us. We were also offered water or soda or diet soda while we were getting our treatments. The massage chairs at the pedicure stations are top notch and give a really nice shiatsu style massage. Not only is the customer service great but the quality of my manicure and pedicure are top-notch. I'm very picky because the place that I go to regularly in Los Angeles is quite small and high-end. I'm used to someone who has trained for years and really takes their technique seriously. The staff at BN are super! This establishment is extremely meticulous about sanitation, including putting plastic liners in the foot spa. They have a lot of color choices. I've never asked about nail art so I can't speak to that. Plenty of parking in the area. We paid $38 each for our pedicure and $20 for the manicure. I had gel polish which was an extra $20. The tech told me it was a different technique than what it actually was, used the wrong base color, and even after I showed the photo again they kept pushing forward instead of just being upfront about not being able to do it. The manager tried to fix it, but by then I'd already been sitting there for over an hour and had to settle for something much simpler just to make it to other plans. My total came to $145 for both my nails and a gel French pedi. While I understand that's on the higher end, I would have been fine with the cost if the service matched what I asked for. Instead, it felt like there was a real lack of transparency and communication. I wish they had just been honest from the start about not being able to replicate the inspo.

I don't mind paying $35 if you had me wash that stuff off my hand, warm towels, cuticle oil, then hand massage with lotion (like the good old days). I remember Vincent fixing my ingrown toenail and reassuring me that I can come here anytime if I have a problem with an ingrown toenail. They didn't charge me for it.
