I had a great time learning about all of the native plants! My favorite was making the seed balls to plant later!

Called multiple times no answer. Needed help navigating their website. Left a voice message and…read moresent an email. Apparently no one will call you back. So if you want to talk to someone, don't count on it. They responded with the following message a week later: I want to be very clear regarding our process. Smash RX does not, and has never, provided booking, pricing, or availability information via phone calls or email. This policy is intentionally designed and is communicated consistently throughout our website, voicemail, and email responses. Our website explicitly states: "We are unable to process bookings or provide availability details via email or phone calls." While our voicemail invites guests to leave a message, it does not imply that bookings or availability will be handled by phone. If you wish to move forward, you are welcome to visit our website to view real-time availability and book directly through the online system.

Want to start by saying that I have never written a negative review on Yelp. It's not something I…read moretake lightly, especially because my family has owned a small business for over 40 years. I truly understand how hard it is to run a business, which is why this review is difficult for me to write. Unfortunately, our experience with Smash Room RX has been extremely disappointing. I was planning an event for a group of 10 women and had several important questions before finalizing the booking. I called multiple times and sent emails in an effort to get clarification. I received only one brief response. Despite not having a complete understanding of how everything worked, I moved forward and put down a deposit in order to secure the date. After placing the deposit, I continued trying to reach someone for clarification, as several women in our group also had questions. At that point, my emails and phone calls went unanswered. While the website does state that they generally do not answer questions by phone or email, it also mentions that you can reach out with specific questions. Unfortunately, when I did exactly that, I received no response. In the end, we decided to forfeit our deposit rather than risk moving forward without clear communication. Losing the money feels like a better outcome than taking a chance on what has so far been a very unprofessional experience. I truly hope they improve their customer communication, as it makes a big difference when planning group events.

Did you know macarons are gluten-free?…read more I took a macaron making class at The Gourmandise School, and it was quite fun & informative. Seeing the process on how those delectable treats are made, gave a greater appreciation each time I wolf one down. Clemence was a great instructor, patient with newbies, explaining things simply & gracefully. I thought creating the unique fillings would be the most daunting task, but they came out great. Located on the 3rd floor of Santa Monica Place, the classes at The Gourmandise School are the perfect opportunity for those intimidated by pastry-making & cooking. I had an absolute blast, and recommend everyone scheduling a future class at The Gourmandise School.

My partner and I took this cooking class as a date experience. While our chef was truly wonderful,…read morekind, welcoming, and very professional, the overall class didn't meet our expectations for the price. The class structure made it hard to learn honestly. instead of cooking step by step together, all instructions were given at once and we were left to cook independently, which was overwhelming and difficult to remember details like which ingredients to add/when, how long to cook things for and proper technique, especially for beginners. A power outage that required sharing burners added to the disorganization. We were also surprised to be required to share ingredients (including raw meat) with someone we didn't know across from us, which felt awkward for an expensive date experience. There was no clear wrap up at the end, and people began eating and leaving without much direction. Again our chef was great, and we enjoyed the stories and history behind the dishes, but overall the cooking lesson experience didn't match the cost or the hands on learning we were expecting.

Super patient and kind especially with a group of 20 girls who were hungover and hangry when we first got here. Our event started at 12pm and went to 3:30pm and we made fresh pasta from scratch! We made the following: 1. Butternut Squash Ravioli 2. Spinach Ricotta Ravioli 3. Fettuccine with a bolognese sauce We got a hands on experience making the pasta dough, kneading it, rolling it out and making both ravioli and fettuccine! Kitchen was beautiful, the lessons were informative with history and common cooking faux pas sprinkled throughout the class, and I can't say enough about the Chef's professionalism and how he was able to capture the attention of our giant group for 3 whole hours. He was so thorough in his explanations and was so encouraging even as some in our group (aka me) had severely limited cooking experience. Last, but most importantly, Chef Gregorio made us the BEST TIRAMISU everrr! It was light, fluffy and reaaallly frickin good. Thanks Chef!

It was the weekend and walking 'round my hood I didn't want to wait a long time for food. CTC had a…read morefew people seated but wasn't so crowded that I would faint from hunger before being served. The concept is quick Italian. With pasta dishes and different main dishes along with sides. They run a deal if you build a full meal and it runs about $15. The staff were nice and I could tell they really wanted to do a good job. The problem really was the food. It lacks fresh flavors and reminded me of an airport restaurant. Everything is clearly pre made, which in itself isn't awful. It just really tasted reheated. Risotto: what was touted as "yellowtail" was canned tuna. Very fishy smelling and even worse tasting. I thought it was a bold special and imagined a seared sliced fish over the risotto. What I got was akin to cat food. I couldn't even choke down a small fork full so I did something I freaking hate doing, I complained to the manager. He did end up taking the dish off of my bill which I appreciate, especially since I honestly found it so awful I couldn't finish a bite. When I gave my reason he did say something troubling. He said the chef uses fish stock in a lot of his dishes which A) should be noted for those who are allergic and B) still doesn't account for the canned fish overwhelming the dish. Hopefully he saw I wasn't being difficult and giving honest feedback. Anyway, I'm happy he did the right thing. Mozzarella sticks were free with yelp check in and average. Roasted potatoes were good but are more like potato wedges and not fingerling are small whole roasted potatoes. Which is fine but unexpected. The tiramisu comes in a cup and tastes mostly of whipped cream. The set up and outside are cute. The staff work hard and really tried to give a great experience. The problem really is the food. It's bland at its best and inedible at its worst. With more restaurants opening in the area soon I would not bet on CTC for the long haul unless they start to put better food on their plates.
