I didn't anticipate to even use public transportation as I planned on walking to/from the train station anyway. I ended up giving in and bought a bus ticket from the train station to the hotel because I was tired and had a heavy suitcase. I validated my ticket and less than 10 minutes later, I was at my stop. I left Perugia less than 2 days later and had with me somewhere in my purse or backpack my ticket that I believed I could use since I didn't use the 2nd entry anyway. Know my bad luck? At my last stop the bus "cop" came on and questioned me. I couldn't find my ticket and was running late for my train. He took me outside as I tried to find my ticket. He spoke zero English. Honestly EVERYONE I met in Italy that deals with tourists knew some conversational English especially those that work in transportation. Eventually I found my ticket and showed him. He got out his pretend cop ticket bag and fined me 30 Euros for an expired ticket.... I tried reasoning with him but he wouldn't listen. A nice woman at the stop was trying to help translating but he wouldn't listen to her either. Saying I was leaving and that I'm an American and not coming back didn't help. Guy was a jerk and took 3 days of my dinner budget away from me. He told me if I didn't pay him he would take me to the police. Keep in mind that the bus pass is only written in Italian and his "pad" didn't even state what the fee was for someone with an expired ticket..... I think I was conned.

We couldn't have been happier with the service. Both taxis were waiting for us when our train arrived. June and Frederico were very friendly and helpful. A bit of a splurge price wise but well worth it.

After reading so many horror stories of renting a car in Italy, was a little apprehensive before…read morethe pick-up, even if the general online consensus being Avis and Europecar are the 2 most reputable companies to use in the country. The pick-up went smoothly with the automatic car I reserved waiting. There was a little cosmetic damage on the car which was already noted in the paperwork. The agent was friendly and spoke fluent English. The car was fine. It was diesel which isn't great but it's still normal in Europe. During the rental I got stopped at a random Carabineri checkpoint and they cop checked my reservation on my smartphone with the license plate information and they found no issues and let me go. Upon returning there was no hyperbole or attempted price add-ons. The price reserved was the price I paid. The only issue was parking at the train station Avis office is rather difficult. I found a nearby space that didn't seem exactly legal and quickly ran in to the office and informed them where it was. They had no problem with it as it seems to be customary for cars to be temporarily in not-legal spaces or double parked just outside. This is Italy of course. Remember to fill up the gas tank. Overall I would use this office and Avis in other parts of Italy again.

The owners were very kind and offered us rides to and from the town and that worked out perfect! They also gave us a ride to the bus stop the last day! My husband was very excited to try their farm fresh eggs and they even let him cook them his way! We highly recommend this cute farm bed and breakfast!

This was my first trip to Europe and I traveled with my adult daughter. I booked my tour far in…read moreadvance, and Irene was very accommodating and helpful. She answered all of my questions quickly and completely, and tailored our experience to what we wanted to see and do. My daughter and I booked a pick up from the cruise port of Civitavecchia and tour of Rome. Andrea was there to pick us up promptly and it felt like we had just reconnected with an old friend. He was very knowedgeable and personable. We were able to see all of the main attractions we wanted to see, and he utilized our time well, avoiding traffic. Andrea made reservations for us to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where we sampled local food and wine. We were also able to go shopping for souvenirs and learn about the history of the area. We ot back to our cruise exhausted but happy from all we had seen and experienced. The following day, Andrea met us at the Naples port and we headed to Pompeii. He had arranged a private guided tour of Pompeii for us, which we thouroughly enjoyed. We then headed to Sorrento for lunch and shopping. It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely utilize their services again when we are able to return to Italy!

Assisi's pretty little train station was built in 1866. The historic signage and original decor…read morewelcomes you to the beautiful town of Assisi and the peaceful surrounding Umbria region. I also love this little train station because there is a human in the ticket office, a pizza restaurant, and a coffee shop/bar that sells homemade local artisan treats. There are monitors that clearly identify trains and the corresponding platform. The taxis are outside but it is €15-18 to take to you to the basilica and hilltop town...it is robbery but it is too far to walk. There is a city bus but I don't know if or when it stops at the train station.
