No idea what the one stars are all about. Very odd to me because I delt with Kayla and she was an absolute dream for me. She was polite, professional, very patient and extremely knowledgeable. Kayla is funny and truly understanding of crazy life situations and goes above to help where she can. She made sure I understood everything even when I needed her to repeat herself. She made me feel like a human and not just a number. I've never needed storage before and with her help I felt less stressed because of her!! I have used this facility since 2009. once Mini-Mall took over management of the facility rates have had large increases each year and then this year they have now added massive fees. $3.99 payment $22.99 Admin fee $6.99 Facility Management fee if you want to pay by dealing with a staff member they will charge you another fee. plus over a $50 dollar rent increase. go with one of there competitors that won't charge these fees. i will be spending the money to move everything out of there facility as it will be cheaper then all the fees they charge and a lack of service. read more

I had stored my car on November 1st/2024. I told them I was going to take the car out on Feb. 28/25. Everything was fine until Feb. 22nd when I was charged on my credit card $227.69 for the next month. I phoned them the same day and talked to a Manager about not wanting to be charged for another month and I had told them I wanted to take the car out on Feb. 28th. He told me there was nothing that could be done. His attitude was he didn't really care! I went to talk to them the next day. I talked to the receptionist because she said there wasn't a manger available. I told her my story and I said if your not going help me I will write a bad review. Suddenly she said "Oh there is a district manager in the back and I will ask him. She went back and talked to him and she said they will give me a full refund. She became busy and handed me over to man who said they would send me a check to my home address. He added that it takes a while to get the check and I said that was fine. I took my car out that same day. So I had actually paid for another month in advance! I hadn't received the check so I went in to see them on May 3rd and I was told they would check on it and a manager would call me on the 6th. He called me and said I was denied getting a refund on the day(Feb 23) that I went in there. That is a lie! So if they didn't refund me the money and I was told to take my car out early because they would refund the money, they owe me $227.69, which they refuse to pay. They lost me as a customer and I hope this review discourages other people from going there also!! read more

Giving this business 1 start because I can't give zero. I am fully moved out of my storage unit as of Aug 27th, my lock taken off. The unit ready for rent to the next customer yet mini mall storage wants to charge me for the full month of September. They require 10days notice which they are not open weekends. For me this is ludicrous. And I refuse to pay for a service I am no longer using. When asked to speak to a manager days went on, me calling everyday, no manager ever called me while they "looked into it" it's a empty unit.. what's to look into.. is a few steps from the office! As well upon moving in to the storage unit. I had noticed the second day someone had bent the fence to get in. Along the road was a Mac truck providing the thief perfect cover. I reported this gaping whole in the fence to the office immediately. I'm was told "oh we take this very seriously" over the next few days I seen that nothing by has been done to fix the fence (looks like they tried to pull in back in place a little.. a failed attempt to say the least) and nothing done to prevent it from being simply pulled back up. I again reported that it's not fixed.... now it's 3 months later and still the fence is exactly how it was after the first report to them.. I imagine stolen property is seen to not be their responsibility and falls on the customers insurance. Overall mini mall storage doesn't give a rats ass about customer service or the safety of what is stored.. But they are happy to collect for a service they are not providing. Just another company who feels they can charge for sub-par service and hide behind a 10days notice requirement, although it serves no purpose. As the unit is open for another customer! Ridiculous! I would also agree with previous reviews and if 0 was an option, that is what I would choose. I have been renting a stall for my trailer since 2009 when the storage facility used to be "St. Albert Self Storage". The facility / staff / ownership had been amazing. Since Mini Mall has taken over, there has been a steady decline in everything but the prices. The fact that they claim the global economy has caused the increase is ludicrous when they have cut back in services that used to be offered. It's just a convenient excuse. In November 2023, I had both my enclosed and dump trailer parked at Mini Mall. Someone attempted to drill out the lock on the door for the enclosed trailer. In December 2023, I arrived at my trailer to find someone damaged the door by prying it open. There were several other trailers that had also been damaged / broken into. I called the RCMP, they investigated and during the course of their investigation, it was determined that a woman who was renting a storage unit in a different lot passed her code along to her son whose truck was then caught entering into the other lots and breaking into trailers. The son denied being responsible and claimed it was a friend, but would not provide his name. In response to this, the manager at Mini Mall assured me the woman's code was disabled and if she wanted to gain access, she would have to attend the office in person; however, if charges were not laid, then she would not be removed from the facility. Fast forward to January 5, 2024. I attended the lot this morning at 0730 hrs and my dump trailer was parked in my stall. I took my enclosed trailer for work and upon returning at 1350 hrs, my dump trailer was missing. When I confronted the manager, she advised me to calm down and call the RCMP. So much like another reviewer, if you value your property, I would not utilize this business. What I have learned from November is that only half their cameras work. When asked about disabling all the codes and providing new ones for the safety / security of legitimate clients, they baulked at this. The old owners used to have a lengthy list of people waiting to get in here, now the aisles are bare and it not surprising why. I would absolutely steer clear of this farce of a "secure" storage lot and Mini Mall in general. **** As an update, I was just called by the RCMP and was told NONE of the cameras were recording at the time of the theft. **** read more

If you value your belongings I would not put them anywhere near a Minimall storage. I rented 2 units and it was the absolute worst experience I have ever had renting anything. Never could get ahold of anyone when I called, and if I did manage to get someone, it was a representative who knew nothing and refused to give up any helpful phone numbers or assistance. I was lied to and one of my units I was told got thrown away. Even tho I paid in full and was there to get it. Bottomline. Don't ever rent from Minimall storage! read more

As a previous poster has indicated, since Mini-Mall bought out the original operators of this facility it has gone drastically downhill. The rental fees have increased dramatically -- and frequently -- while service levels have been the complete opposite. There used to be at least 4 or 5 staffers whose sole jobs were to maintain the repair and maintenance of the facility, from what I can tell now, there are none and the facility is literally falling into a state of disrepair. At least 1/3 of the nighttime security lights are non-functioning (maybe their cameras have night vision?), they removed all the garbage cans (I guess if you don't have garbage cans you don't have to empty them...), they closed the bathroom that was provided for facility users. Security used to be 24 hr. on site, now it is virtually non-existent. It appears that long termers are moving out in droves, so much so it seems like their business model is to extract higher fees from a dwindling customer base to maintain profit. I could go on, buy why bother as THEY DON'T CARE. Trust me, go elsewhere. read more
