They had goat, beef, chicken and salmon. Even for salmon the price was cheapest, though I didn't get it. Goat was fresh. At $10.99/lb, cannot get better than that. I also went for a whole red rooster which was $20. They cleaned and cut it for me. That was a real big bird. They had some drinks in the front - coconut water, hibiscus and orange juice. Oranje juice was good. There was milk, egg, fruits, vegetables etc. Saba Live in CT used to be my favorite butcher. I am happy to see that the same family runs the shop here. There is a bigger Saba Live in Oakland. Next I will try how that one is.

The beauty of shopping in Chinatown is getting things fresh. On this block alone, there are no less than four stores that sell fresh poultry aka chicken. I remember, as a child, walking along this block in wonderment as I stared at the live chickens in wooden cages. When I asked my mom, can we bring one home, I naively thought her affirmative answer was as a pet. Naïve alright. Anyway, back to the review, this place is not for the squeamish or bacteria sensitive people, not to say it isn't clean. Like any fresh food supplier whether seafood or butcher shop, there will be visuals of blood and guts in some form. My mom insists on free range chickens so I walked to the open refrigerated case to select two prebagged chickens; luckily I can read a little Chinese. I took them to the cashier window and paid the gentleman as he bagged my purchase. In and out in less than five minutes. The other stores south of here are more product friendly as there is a salesperson who helps you if you want to purchase only particular chicken parts (breast, thighs and drumsticks, wings, baby drummettes, etc.). Since my family uses it mainly for soup broth and making porridge, this was perfect for us. Glad they remained open through shelter in place.

Everyone is always very friendly, even when the store is busy. It is super dark inside. No real outdoor lighting can be misleading and have you skeptical, however it's a great market. Clean and neat aisles. Their meat market is always stocked with fresh pink meat. It never smells weird like other meat butcher shops. They have A lot of non familiar items too that other markets don't have. Very organized usually you pull a number to keep place if it's not too busy. The store is stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. Great selection of home groceries. Beverages and liquors. Super Save has everything you need, you can also cash your check. Pay utility bills. Also recently added on inside is a Krispy Krunchy Chicken shack station, always hot and delicious. They also have their own parking lot, it can get "trafficy" sometimes but is still much appreciated considering the busy main street is barely available.
