Grass-fed options and dry-aged steaks stand out for their rich taste and are far superior to grocery store. They stock an impressive range, from beef and pork to poultry, and house-made sausages. Custom cuts and seasonal specials make it easy to find exactly what you need for grilling, roasting, or gourmet meals. The staff are knowledgeable pros who offer spot-on advice on prep, aging, and pairings without any upselling. They'll even break down a whole cuts to your specs on the spot, making every visit feel personalized and efficient.

The quality is always on point (you get what you pay for) and the process is easy to preorder. The main thing to plan for is the long wait in line to pick up your preorder. In prior years, I've usually picked up on Christmas Eve and the wait can exceed 90 mins to 2 hours depending on when you arrive - this is the case even when you doorbust at opening time. This year, we picked up on the 23rd and arrived around opening time, and it only took 30 minutes. There are also very high quality pantry goods to peruse and purchase, including pasta, mustards, spices, tinned goods, etc. Onto the meat: I preordered late this year so got 21 day aged prime rib roast (would usually aim for 45+ days), but honestly it was hard to tell the difference. I ordered the roast pre seasoned, cradled and tied for ease and it was very high quality, easy to cook and delicious. Shoutout to the very friendly and hardworking staff at Olivier's - I see yall fighting for your lives trying to control that line every year (lol). Thank you for your service!

I have been trying to support this place for years. I've lived in the neighborhood for 7 years,…read moreI've bought meat at this location since before this current owner took over the lease from the Fatted calf. But I'm going to warn you against shopping here. 1) I have bought spoiled chicken from here. 2) I have bought various bad cuts of beef that not only fail to justify the premium price but aren't even as good as grocery store meats. 3) Most disturbingly, the sticker price and what they actually charge you is different. I have caught them multiple times so now I know they do this intentionally. 4) Also disturbing, the items on your receipt won't even match the items you buy. I don't know what accounting tricks they are playing but I'm done shopping here. I'm not saying all my shopping experiences are bad. But these bad ones make it not worth it to try again.

I've been here twice now and both visits have been satisfying. At this point I can recommend the Reuben and the Ham & Cheese on the sweet roll. Both sandwiches come loaded with meat and toppings. The bread is toasty and warm when served. Most importantly, everything in the sandwich taste fresh. I think I found my go to sandwich spot near work. Price is similar to most sandwich spots in the area. It's San Francisco so expect around $15-$20 for the sandwich. Luckily both times I've been here I didn't need to wait in line for anything. Service is efficient and the workers are friendly. I will be back for another sandwich!

WORMS IN MEAT! DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE - DO NOT BUY HERE! We…read morespent $100 on meat and were horrified to find it full of worms. We went back multiple times to demand a refund, but all we got were endless excuses: "The owner isn't here". The cashier was rude, unhelpful, and refused to do anything. They never gave our money back. This place sells contaminated food and takes no responsibility. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. Avoid at all costs! GUSANOS EN LA CARNE! EXPERIENCIA ASQUEROSA - ¡NO COMPREN AQUÍ! Asqueroso e inaceptable. ¡Eviten este lugar a toda costa!

Another great option for produce near the 24th St Mission BART & right across the street from Casa…read moreLucas. While Casa Lucas has limes priced at 8 for $1 currently, El Chico is a bit more costly as limes are 5 for $1 here. Besides that prices are pretty comparable. I didn't see any organic produce available yet a great variety of fresh produce is here including pomegranate, persimmons, & papaya. They even had 3 lbs of Granny Smith apples for $1.99 which is a great bargain. This is a place to stock up on produce & yet again like Casa Lucas the soy milk is super costly as is near $5 for half a gallon. The thing that most impressed me about El Chico was they have a small bulk section w/ black, pinto, & red beans all priced at an affordable .99 cents per lb. Kudos for having this staple in bulk & feel that gives El Chico an extra star to beat out Casa Lucas.
