If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. The RailYard is hands down one of the best…read morerestaurants I've ever been to, and it's right here in Bluefield. From the food to the drinks to the service, every single detail is outstanding. On my first visit, I tried the fried green tomatoes, the famous chicken & waffle nachos, and the Bleu Monday burger with sweet potato fries each dish was so good that I found myself planning my return before I even left. Sure enough, the next day I was back and had the ridiculously delicious smoked Gouda shrimp mac, maple bacon Brussels sprouts, fire-roasted tomato soup with grilled cheese, and the chimmied fries. Absolutely phenomenal. The fried green tomatoes have officially become my standard nobody else compares now. The Samurai Jack salad so fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. The drinks deserve their own spotlight. The Breakfast Club with a Sidecar is a must try, and the Basilto All Flavors series (strawberry, blackberry, blueberry) is out of this world, blueberry was my personal favorite. Creative, refreshing, and perfectly crafted. The RailYard is the kind of place that makes you excited to come back again and again. The vibe is cool, the staff/manager Brad is friendly and attentive, and the food is truly next level. Whether you're a student at Bluefield State or just passing through town, this place is an absolute must. The RailYard sets the bar high for food, drinks, and atmosphere in West Virginia. Worth every single visit and then some.

Set in an old bank building, features a full bar with ~30 beers on tap including many local selections and IPAs as well as half a dozen wine choices. That said,The Railyard is more of a restaurant than a bar. The food and service from the staff are definitely the star of the show. Davey (ask him about his previous career as a guitarist for a metal band) and his team did a great job taking care of us. Menu offers a wide selection of burgers, wraps, and salads (including vegan selections). Also try the Devil Arse dip with chips and or crostini (toasted bread). Loved it , great place for lunch.

Just Like How I Brew it Up…read more We're usually pretty good about having our spots to eat lined up when traveling but occasionally we'll have a "fuck it let's see where we end up" kinda day, and this was one of them. I literally spotted a wooden sign along the 19 advertising for Freefolk Brewery and--after seeing the positive Yelps--we headed straight there. Established in 2018, this is the OG location for Freefolk Brewing, which has since moved their brewing operations to larger digs in Hico, WV. But this location stands as a taproom for their suds, as well as operating a small kitchen. The Good: *Love the location in the middle of nowhere. Really captures the essence of WV. *Décor is also really great with lots of paintings, murals, and other fun things to discover indoors. *Great dog-friendly outdoor space that hosts live music on weekends. *Small but strong menu that leans heavily on Greek/Mediterranean grub. *Nine of their beers on-tap (they do have guest taps as well) that features everything from IPAs to gose's and even sours. *Service was friendly and fast *Fast-casual as you order at the counter, get a buzzer and then pick up your food when ready. *Baklava cheesecake was out-of-this-world great. I loved the crunch from the Filo dough and pistachios and the taste of the thick, rich honey. *Food was surprisingly very not bad. I enjoyed my Traditional Gyro and Greek Salad, and everyone else did, as well. Nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible, either. The Meh: *While a small menu is fine by me, it might limit certain pickier folks who aren't into Mediterranean food. The Ugly: *Remote location is great during the day but might be a lil' sus at night time if you smell what I'm cooking. TLDR: Great spot for some Greek bites and tasty suds.

They were setting up for live music, but unfortunately we were there too early to see it! They have a nice stage and a spread out area for people to relax and enjoy! The food was fresh & tasty! I love that it wasn't your standard greasy bar food, but was actually fresh & a healthier alternative!

The first stop on our West Virginia road trip was the carefully planned out stop: Dobra Zupas ( I…read moreresearched this trip for months). I would say this was as solid as it comes for any restaurant. Pros: - The building. As a Savannah, GA native (more or less) I can appreciate a historic building. Absolutely love the vibe inside and out. - Their fries are top notch. Great Greek seasoning on these bad boys and very hot coming out. Some of the better fries I've had in my life. - Grilled Chicken Sandwich. There's a spot in Savannah, GA called "Clary's" that had a grilled chicken sandwich and they took it off their menu a few years back. One of my favorite chicken sandwiches; Dobra Zupas is pretty close to that one. A perfect "diner" style chicken sandwich. - Wait Staff. Top Notch. After having a rather bad wait staff for my last review, this one made me feel comfortable and not rushed nor in the way. - Fried Goat Cheese was amazing. I've never had anything like it. Cons: - Pizza was so-so. You really don't go to a Greek restaurant and order pizza, but it was alright. Definition of okay. I really enjoyed my stop through here. You can tell they put a lot of effort into this being a great restaurant and it comes through. The building and how unexpected it is to come across (you Google Map a restaurant and are kinda shocked when you come across it) is cool. Well, my unnecessary hours of researching restaurants for West Virginia was successful for Day One because Dobra Zupas was a fun find. Very glad I came and would definitely recommend it.
