On September 14, 2026, I visited Monarch Jewelers while shopping for white-gold tanzanite jewelry. I specifically told the owner that this was what I was looking for. The owner personally showed me jewelry that I understood to be consistent with what I had specifically requested, and I proceeded with the purchase based on those representations. After the transaction, I reviewed my receipt and the documentation more carefully and discovered that there was a discrepancy between what I understood I was purchasing and what was reflected in the transaction documentation. This was not a minor issue to me. The type of metal used in jewelry is a significant part of the value and description of a piece, particularly when a customer specifically requests white gold. I immediately contacted Monarch Jewelers and requested a refund and a resolution to the problem. If they continue this kind of behavior, they are going to hit someone's else's nerve who doesn't have the same restraint that I did. So if the same happens to you and your child if you do come here, know that what they're doing is wrong, and absolutely fight back if not just for yourself, but for the rest of us this has happened to. To gain some perspective as well though, hundreds of cruise ships with tourists visit this store regularly. They have probably had incidents where kids mishandled and broke some items, so they are very defensive about it. But here's the thing - if you're in this business, you should also be educated enough to know how to deal with this respectfully with customers. Put a sign up saying "Children not permitted. Thanks for your understanding". Or you say, "I'm so sorry, we've had some incidents before and prefer children not to handle the merchandise. Thanks". That's it. Anyways, I hope this is a lesson in customer service to this store because they do carry a lot of very nice items. But many times it's not what you're selling that determines how good your business is - it's how you treat your customers.

It indicated that my 5 year warranty would cover all the work. I sent it directly to the repair shop and received it back in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately they used lower quality stones (even though they had the original pics of the ring ). I contacted Lincon again and agreed with me and contacted the repair shop. He gave me the option of money back or an additional repair or a new ring that was basically identical to my original. I went with the new ring. All this with no cost to me. Lincon always called be right away and explained my options. There was no avoidance of the issue, no attempts to get to take an inferior product.
