Sometimes emergencies or rush situations happen and scheduling medical transport with wheelchair capability can be a serious hassle since most transport requires advanced scheduling and planning. COMPARISONS - Sadly many insurance don't cover non-emergency medical transport. Getting old isn't cheap and medical transport isn't either, compared to other similar services ANEMT rates are average to a little better. MetroWest transport is the most popular and great, but they are constantly booked at least 1-2 days out or 5-10 hours for same day. MetroWest also has stair capable wheelchairs and stretchers by request and door to door service. TriMet offers basic medical transport for fairly cheap via shuttle, but they don't offer door to door so you'll need someone to push if the chair isn't motorized and electric. Uber and Lyft have wheelchair capable vehicles, but again, no door to door service and requires advanced scheduling. Interestingly Kaiser Washington State insurance covers non-emergency transport, but not in Oregon. Above and beyond - Along with being able to respond quickly with door to door service, they helped with transferring inside the home to and from the wheelchair. Aways super nice and friendly guys. Easy pay via credit card through a tex message link or over the phone. Have questions, be sure to ask, they are very helpful and accommodating. Good service, responsive, fast and better pricing than most. Thanks for taking good care of our family.

My opinion of Wapato gradually changed over time. Having concluded my employment with Wapato, I…read moreopine that no driver should be caused to feel continually eroded as a human being by the weakest links of management. Adding insult to injury, company protocols force drivers to contact these same unfriendly, hostile and intimidating managers to report a variety of particular work issues. Compounding that reality is the habitude used by some members of management whereby they attack drivers with reverse blame when they are reporting an issue beyond an employee's human control. Eventually I concluded that given members of management seemed to enjoy the psychological abuse of Wapato employees. In my opinion the applicable actors within Wapato's management seemed to function like a cabal that operated within a toxic capitalistic environment. That said, I have moved on to a new employer. In my current position I feel blessed to work for a company that genuinely loves and supports its drivers. Continually my new employer demonstrates the higher qualities of the human being. Everyday I am now surrounded by a healthy work environment that fills its employees with positive inspiration that promotes self-worth. To my former comrades at Wapato I wish you good luck!

I reserved a ride with Five Star Special Transport on Sunday night for Monday afternoon and was worried they might not be able to arrange a pickup with less than 24 hours notice. The driver, Gary, arrived on time, helped my mother get into the wheelchair, and made sure she was very securely placed in the van. The van itself was modern, clean, and well-equipped. Both Jacqueline and Gary were kind and professional. I'll definitely be using their service again when my Mom needs it. Thank you, guys!

With traffic and appointments that go longer than anticipated, scheduling these companies can be difficult, but TKG has always arrived on time, whereas others have made me wait an hour or longer. They are always waiting for me when I'm done with an appointment. They send out reminders of the appointment, and have reasonable pickup times. Given the choice, I would never use another service again. I feel like a quietly warm and friendly face is ready to help me and always gets everything right. I highly recommend them.
