The staff, specifically MARY and some other bimbo were incredibly RUDE! Would not help me with a prescription, she was TALKING OVER ME, and even HUNG UP ON ME. When I was trying to explain to her the situation on my prescription. I will NEVER use this doctor again, unless he fires that rude, disrespectful employee that claims she's been there for "5 years". BEWARE! Dr Minas Kochumian pled guilty to Healthcare Fraud and also had to pay over 9.5 million dollars for falsely billing Medicare and Medi-Cal for services and tests never performed. Dr Kochumian is one of the best doctors we have had. He is like family. He cares deeply about the wellbeing of his patients. He is highly competent and very analytical. He does not push medication first, he strives to understand the cause of the problem and not just treat the symptoms. We have been going to him for more than 10 years. His office is in Northridge and we do not mind driving for over an hour for an appointment with him. His specialty is geriatrics. I have seen him interact with seniors with the utmost care and patience. His front office staff is also very nice. His RN Maral is just as patient and competent. I have even showed up at their office without an appointment once or twice and they were able to accommodate me without giving me a hard time. I cannot recommend Dr Kochumian enough. read more

My aunt spoke very highly of Dr. Kochumian, so the next day I gave the office a call to schedule an appointment. I was asked if I were a new a patient, I said correct then I was put on hold for over 12 minutes. I'm so glad that I chose Dr. Kochumian as my primary care doctor. Every visit to his office has been a pleasant experience since my initial intake. The staff is all very nice and helpful, and the gentleman who is his assistant that gets you ready to see the doctor is awesome as well. The last time I needed an appointment his staff got me in the very next day and it was only for some minor wrist pain. Dr. Kochumian is a very kind and compassionate doctor. He takes his time with you and makes sure to explain things thoroughly. Every time I see him no questions go unanswered, and I leave feeling like he did his very best to care for me. The Doc first examined me while I was unconscious in the summer of 2000 after suffering a stroke and being admitted to the hospital in Glendale. My experience with doctors generally, is that the best time to meet them is while you are unconscious so you don't have to listen to their B.S., which generally provides little or no relief to the problem you are suffering from. I was 55 yrs. old at the time, and have been around many, many doctors in my life given my medical condition. That evening, after waking up, my wife and I met the Doc. For the rest of that week before discharge, I saw him at least once a day, and sometimes more. He continued to treat me for several months after I went home. I attribute much of my full recovery to the Doc's efforts. Over the years that have followed, the Doc has continued to take care of me if I needed it. The thing that separates the Doc from the crowd is "he genuinely cares about his patients." You are not just a file or number. Not long ago I was in a doctor's office who was talking to one of the nurses. He was bragging about seeing 48 people that day and still taking a lunch break. The Doc has built a great practice and has many patients. But, unlike the doctor the other day, the Doc takes the time necessary to try and diagnose the cause of the problem and then figure out the appropriate treatment. He is truly compassionate, a quality that is very hard to find. So, if you are looking for a doctor that is intelligent, experienced, trustworthy, a tireless worker and will "treat you like a person," give the Doc a try, you won't be sorry. read more

Dr K is great and always friendly. He takes the time to listen without rushing and is detailed in asking questions and providing his analysis. I've found that he is very busy and that regular appointments do need to be scheduled well in advance, sometimes up to 2 months, however when I've truly had an urgent medical need, he and his staff have been very accommodating. Also Maria, his registered nurse and especially Noe, are just as great. Dr. Kochumian's staff takes rudeness and incompetence to a new level. They cannot seem to get even the simplest of tasks completed without error. Common requests such as a change of address or phone number, a prescription refill, and getting a referral to a specialist are all beyond his staff's capabilities. An annual wellness exam, free under most insurance plans, such as mine, is surely to get miscoded and a collection notice is certain to arrive months after the exam. If they were simply incompetent, some of these things could possibly be forgiven, if the mistakes were corrected and it became a learning experience for his staff, but they are also just about the rudest bunch of people one could have the misfortune of having to deal with. read more

Dr. Kouchumian has been my mom's family doctor for many years and after going through a recent scare from another doctor I went to, I went to Dr. Kouchumian for a second opinion as it turned out I am perfectly healthy. I saw his wonderful nurse practitioner Jorgette who is so kind and caring just like the doctor. I feel so safe in there care and they always want to take the least line of horrible test until they are absolutely sure that other tests may be needed. They must have a new staff at the front desk because the ladies I spoke with were so kind and caring. f'ing brutal experience. I came to Dr. K as a new patient because i had been sick for over 6 months and my previous physician could not figure out the cause of my illness. after testing positive for coxsackie virus, EBV and lyme disease, instead of discussing treatment options Dr. K grilled me about anxiety disorders then referred me to an infectious disease doctor who dismissed all of my positive test results without explanation. he then allegedly told Dr. K to send me to a therapist. i received no treatment over the course of 10 months except for 4 weeks of ABx which destroyed my gut so i had to discontinue. my condition progressively became worse, then i ultimately suffered a severe attack which prompted my family to call 911. after my attack Mary (office manager) called me to inform my family that Dr. K would no longer see me as a patient and that i should go see a therapist and never return. WTF. after extensive testing my current doctor who specializes in integrative medicine determined that i had developed toxicity of the liver/gallbladder/kidneys, global chronic infections, lymphatic stagnation, thyroid issues, anemia, compromised immune system (low CD57-NK) and food intolerances. Dr. K did not address any of these problems and he did not take my list of symptoms seriously even when i complained of severe abdominal & chest pain that had persisted for over a year. i am generously giving his office 2 stars because the nurses were nice albeit unhelpful. one of the front office employees was consistently rude to me for no apparent reason. most of the staff in the front office were generally helpful until Dr. K instructed them to refuse me care. i am deducting 3 stars b/c i am very disappointed with how Dr. K unceremoniously dumped me as a patient after i was hospitalized 12 times in one year and he never offered a diagnosis or treatment plan. they were also negligent by withholding information about my test results which led to months of unnecessary suffering. they also refused to make me an appointment on multiple occasions and my insurance company had to intervene. i would not recommend this office if you suffer from a serious illness or disease b/c if your affliction is beyond the scope of Dr. K's expertise he will probably gaslight you and play games with your mind and your health. overall impression, his staff seemed interested in helping me get well in the beginning but when the test results revealed that i was chronically ill Dr. K and Mary made an unethical and despicable decision to abandon me as a patient when i required urgent medical care... read more

This office is all about looks, social class, and race. I went to this office based off the positive reviews, but these reviews couldn't be further from the truth. I never got to see DR. Kochumian maybe me have medicaid is not to his standards. The office manager was not professional or courteous. My over all experience wasn't positive. I was not treated fairly. Had i been Armenian or been rich i would have been treated better like i observed other were. The breaking point was Np Georgina leaving the office. She was always helpful. They no longer are taking any medicaid plans. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Kochumian and his staff! I have been a patient here for over 10 years and would highly recommend this doctor to everyone. I have been so well cared for here. As a patient with several health problems, I can honestly say that Dr. Kochumian has saved my life. He caught many of my illnesses very early on and always referred me to a wonderful specialist whenever necessary. I would not be alive today if it wasn't for this doctor. Whenever an outside referral is necessary, his staff always helps me schedule an appointment before I leave the office. Most doctor offices just give you the referral and expect you to call multiple places to get an appointment with another doctor or imaging center. This is not the case here. My appointments are always scheduled for me with the time preferences I request so I never need to feel overwhelmed. I am very well taken care of here. Dr. Kochumian is an amazing doctor who is knowledgeable and kind. I never feel rushed during my visits. He listens to my problems intently and tells me what my symptoms mean. He has given me several shots for my arthritis and this has helped diminish my pain immensely. I also cannot say enough good things about his staff. I am always greeted with smiles and warm wishes. All the nurses are fabulous and great at what they do. Whenever I require a shot or bloodwork, I never even feel the needle injection because they are so skilled. I am terrified of needles and hate it when I bruise up after blood tests. This has not happened to me here. The nurse (all of them are sweet!) always finds a way to calm me down before inserting the needle, and before I even open my eyes, the work is done. Every time I call the office because I feel unwell, I am always given an appointment. I always recommend Dr. Kochumian to my friends and family.
