We started sending our daughter Mila to Mimiz when she was 2 years old, first for daycare and later for preschool, and we've had a great experience throughout. Mimi, Sam, and the entire staff have been very caring and helpful with Mila's development over the years. One thing we especially appreciate is that they provide breakfast, homemade lunch, and snacks, which makes life much easier for parents. They are also very flexible with early drop-offs and late pick-ups, which has been incredibly helpful when our schedules change. The kids' schedule is always full of educational and fun activities, including seasonal celebrations like Halloween, Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Diwali, as well as special events like fire department visits. We also really enjoy the yearly parent gatherings, which give families a chance to meet and get to know each other. Mimiz was originally recommended to us by friends, and after our own experience, we've recommended it to several of our friends as well. We've been brining oldest here for three years and just started with our second. The Mimiz staff is full of attentive and caring teachers and I feel that kid one is learning well about how to behave with other kids and take care of basic needs. Mimiz helped us form good habits, starting with regular nap time at 6 months all the way to self toileting! We've learned all our letters and can count consistently, and spend a lot of time coloring! MiMiz Daycare is a wonderful daycare. Our son has been attending MiMiz since he was 7 months old, and he is now two years old. While I'd love to take full credit for him being such a confident, independent, and happy kid, I know that MiMiz has played a big role in this. This is our first child, and it's been wonderful to have the MiMiz staff to guide us on developmentally appropriate approaches to many topics like eating, nap times, and discipline. I'm so surprised at all the things our son has learned there. My first child attended from 2020-2024, my second child started in 2022 and will attend until they age out. Mimiz Daycare is the perfect mix of a cozy, family-run place with the professionalism you'd expect from a larger center. The staff at Mimiz are amazing. There's low turnover, so the kids get to build strong relationships with their teachers. The owner/operators are super involved and knowledgeable, and they've been a huge help with things like transitioning both kids to formula and potty training. It's clear that they have a true passion for this work, and our whole family (grandparents included) have felt so welcome and cared for. They strike a great balance between structured learning and play. Curriculum focuses on TK/Kinder readiness, which made my four-year-old's recent transition to TK shockingly smooth. My son has been going to Mimiz Daycare since he's 8.5 months old and he's now 27 months. I think it's time for us to share our experience and show our appreciation to Mimi, Sam, Amir, Ashkan and all the caregivers and teachers. We discovered Mimiz through my husband's workplace which is 5min away and a lot of his coworkers send their kids here and highly recommend it. We joined the waitlist in September 2021 when I was about 7 months pregnant. Then we got an email from Mimi in March 2022, went on for a tour and met Mimi and one of her sons Amir. It was very impressive because daycare center looked very new, clean and neat. I asked if they recently remodeled, but they said it's been a few years. I could tell they must have put in a lot of efforts to keep it clean and safe for all the kids (we also toured bright horizon and it was a mess). After the tour, Mimi reached out again via email and let us know that they had a spot available in September 2022 and of course we said YES! Our son's first week was awesome and he DID NOT CRY at all. We dropped him off for 1.5 hr for the first 2 days, then gradually increased to 3 hours, 6 hours and then the whole day. I still remember the warm welcoming we saw when we dropped him off the first day (Amir was a holding a Mickey Mouse doll to welcome him). Mimi also sent photos to us from time to time and put our mind at ease, which we greatly appreciated. My son has egg and peanut allergies and they can accommodate him with different food options. When he's almost 2 years old, Sam told us that they planned to let him join the pre-school class for one to two hours a day to ensure a smooth transition when he officially turned 2, and it did. Seeing my son grow and thrive in Mimiz daycare everyday is heart-warming and amazing: From milk bottle, to sippy cup, straw cup, and open cup. From tummy time, to sitting, walking, and jumping. From "bah bah bah" to "... Now I know my ABC's". These days the toddler art projects that my son finishes at daycare are lots of fun! My daughter started at Mimiz when she was 16 months old. Given the covid situation, her interaction with people outside of the family was extremely limited. Before sending her to Mimiz, every time she goes to a new place or sees a stranger, she would freeze and be extremely attached to my husband and me. As you can imagine, given this, her first days at Mimiz were understandably tough. Mimi was extremely understanding of the situation, and really helped smooth the transition for her. For the first couple of weeks, she was constantly with her, sending us updates throughout the day and chatted with us every day when we picked her up. By the fourth day, my little one waved to me in the morning and said bye bye mommy, signaling that she's ready to go to school. She's now been in Mimiz for almost 6 months and around 8 in the morning, she would grab her bunny and signal she is ready to go to Mimiz! During these month, she has learned a lot and is able to sing, count, talk, eat and play by herself now. Watching her clean up/put away all her toys after playing is the funniest thing. For that, we are truly thankful to the team in Mimiz. We had our son join Mimiz at the tiny age of 6 months and he stayed with them till he was ready for Pre-K!Being first time parents, there were several things that we weren't fully dialed in on but Mimi helped us onboard our son with solid food introduction as well as adjusting him to the daycare sleep schedule. We sent our son to Mimiz when he was 11 months old and spent 2 years there. He had a blast. After the first week of adapting to the new environment, he was just looking forward to going there every day. Coming home he'd be always doing the dance or singing the songs taught at Mimiz and proudly showing us the "academic" work he's done there. Everyone at Mimiz treated him like a part of the family. Amir and Ashkan are like his own older brothers. And he LOVEs his teachers - we kept hearing about the fond stories with them ever since he's learned to speak. I had great hopes from Mimiz daycare. We went for a tour and found them to be uptight. They don't want to work with your child - they refused to take my daughter who was the 8.5 months old since she wasn't sleep trained and went on to say we charge more if your kid isn't sleep trained. The Mimiz team could teach a master class on 'How to run an incredible day care'. The impressive facilities are sparkling clean and safe, (even before Covid practices!). The entire team is exceptionally professional and kind, and has always treated our son (and us!) like family. Their menu is balanced and healthy, not to mention tasty. (I have to admit I've taken a bite or three of the 'Mimi Pollo') Their curriculum is thoughtful and engaging -- we have been so impressed at how our son has progressed socially and academically. As a first time parent, their digital methods of keeping us updated on our sons day and overall progress is so comforting. He gets up every morning asking to "go see friends!". When a two year old is begging to go to school, you know that it's a really special place. Our family is sadly moving out of state, and the absolute hardest thing about it is taking our son away from his beloved day care family. I am not sure if we'll find a place as incredible as Mimiz in our new state, but we feel so fortunate that our son has been able to learn and grow there. Mimiz daycare has been an excellent experience for our family. Both of our girls started around 10 months old and have been there ever since. Mimiz does an excellent job of creating a warm, welcoming and trusting home for all the kids. It's clear both from my kids response and all their friends that they all enjoy attending Mimiz everyday. I've seen far more kids not want to leave at the end of the day than not wanting to be dropped off. My kids have never faught going to daycare and run in with big smiles on their face everyday. I like that Mimiz is a family owned and ran daycare which has had good staff retention. The staff always seem happy to be there and they all help create a warm and welcoming environment for the kids. Over the years they have worked with us to overcome numerous hurdles that new parents have from sleep training to general transitions to behavioral issues. They always have useful recommendations and work well with the parents. They must have a good educational program as our kids and their friends all seem to be very smart and friendly little kids. They plan fun activities for the kids (Easter egg hunts, snow day, water play, cooking, painting, picture day, etc) and even have Spanish class! After 5 years in the United States we are moving back to Europe MiMiz Daycare is what we are going to miss the most. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Our kids joined 2 years ago, Kostas, the older was 1.5 at the time and the younger, Dominykas just 6 months old. They both had a blast, and they are excited to go to "school" every morning, even through their terrible twos. They made friends, extraverted and learnt to be respectful while socializing with other kids. The professional facilities give them space to play and learn and a large array of toys and materials to interact with. From a parent perspective we couldn't be happier. Mimiz offers in-house cooked breakfast, lunch and snacks every day that our kids love. The hygiene is exemplary and both our kids have been sick for less than five days over two years. The schedule has not just fun activities but also a lot of classes. Our kids learnt the alphabet and numbers in the preschool, improved their fine motor skills and our older can already add confidently. My Husband and I could not be happier having our son at MiMiz. He is so happy and developing so quickly. We started at MiMiz when he was six months old and as new parents, we felt incredibly supported and that our son was being taken care of so well. We were and are so impressed with the facility; it is immaculately clean and thoughtfully planned for the kids as they grow and go from class to class. They were in constant communication to make sure that we were comfortable and also to make sure he was hitting milestones and adapting well to day care. It felt like we were all on the same team to do what was best for our infant. Who could ask for anything more? We were so sad when Covid hit and the daycare was closed, but when it was safe to return, we were very impressed with the precautions that MiMiz took to ensure the safety of their kids and of their families. We have been sending our children to Mimiz since June 2021, and we are so incredibly thankful to have been welcomed into the Mimiz family! Our children were 3 and 6 mos when they joined, and they have flourished under the care of the Mimiz staff and teachers. Our 3 year old had been home during the first year of the pandemic, so she had some catching up to do from a social perspective. Her teachers have been so attentive and thoughtful about individualizing their approach to her needs across the board (i.e. motor skills, academics, potty training). As a result, our daughter has truly caught up and seems well-prepared for kindergarten. Our younger one has also thrived at Mimiz; he continually surprises us with what he learns from his teachers and peers. In addition, he had some dietary concerns during his first 2 years, and Mimi and Sam were very accommodating and empathetic to the situation. Other quick notes - the facility is spotless and has ample room for children to play. The children love the meals at Mimiz, and they make accommodations, as needed. They make holidays special for the children, going all out with celebrations and decorations. They also include a wide variety of cultural holidays which is inclusive and educational. Mimiz communicates regularly and efficiently regarding the children's needs; we are always kept in-the-know, both about daily activities and ongoing development and focus areas. We went through a few daycares/preschools for our older child before finding Mimiz, and in hindsight, we wish we found them from the very start. We will be sad to leave Mimiz once our children reach kindergarten age, but we are so happy to be with them now! read more

You know that feeling when something just feels right? Had that feeling upon our first visit. After our extensive research and visits to over a dozen home and institutional day cares out there, we found a safe, clean and nurturing environment for our children with Mimi. Mimiz Daycare has a wonderful mix of academics and play amidst a great location. The curriculum content is developmentally and age appropriate though most kids are learning and exceeding far above their age groups. Besides the fundamentals of languages arts, the curriculum also includes arts and crafts, music, science, and foreign languages. The outside play area is large and has plenty of shade while the interior has A/C and dedicated areas for learning, sleeping and eating. Lunches and snacks are delicious and healthy. I would have given them ZERO star if I could... They planted a deep anxiety in my child's unconsciousness that we have not been able to get rid of it after so many months. I will not forgive you mimiz and I hope no other parent makes the mistake of trusting you as we did. My daughter was about fourteen months when we tried mimiz. In our first day of leaving her alone, they let her cry for straight 2 hours without giving her any comfort; without calling us to let us know. They made a decision to let her cry without us knowing it. They are in no position of making any decision for any child independent of the child's parent, They have the philosophy of the child should cry until the poor child accepts it is what it is. This is what their management and their teachers told us. My daughter was afraid of closed environments/ indoors for so long after this experience. I don't know what they did to my poor baby :( Words cannot express my sadness and the frustration; Writing is a reminder of the root cause of the long lasting separation anxiety my daughter is suffering from. It is so hard to write the details. I just want to write this to make sure other parents won't make the mistake of trusting mimiz as we did. read more

We joined Mimiz when our daughter was 6 months old and she is now nearly 2. They are so incredibly professional and organized, but at the same time maintain that family and loving atmosphere that is so necessary for early childcare. This review is long overdue. Mimiz Daycare is a true GEM. They are everything you look for in a daycare and more. Mimiz is professional, clean, honest and personable. We enrolled our children at 6 months old. At first we were hesitant leaving our children with someone else but Mimi and her team made that transition so easy. They would send us pictures, messages of their progress and give us updates throughout the day. This gave me peace of mind that Mimi and her team truly cares about the children and they are in good hands. Mimiz goes above and beyond when it come to care. My son has been at Mimiz for a year now. Starting a few months before he turned two it was hard as a mom to have him start daycare. Mimi helped ease my son in her home as well as my own nerves. Mimiz daily schedule & the structure she brings to the kids is absolutely amazing. I tell everyone I know how impressed I am by her. I am a mother of 3 and the 4th on the way (who will also go to Mimiz). I was a stay at home mom with my older 2 and I can honestly say my older two didnt know the things my son does when they were his age. Within the past year, Mimi had my son potty trained before he was 2 1/2, he knows all his letters, sounds, can write his name clearly as well as the alphabet (Upper & lower case). He knows his shapes, colors, days of the week, numbers and he learns them in Spanish & English...he's not even 3 yet! They do say children are like little sponges at this age and Mimi feeds those sponges with a wealth of knowledge. My son comes home so excited everyday to show me the projects he did (the coloring & cutting), the letters he wrote. She gives these kids confidence & independence, such a great thing to have at this young age. Since we have been at Mimiz, there have been a few kids who have "graduated" and started kindergarten. The parents of those children have said, their children are in advanced classes doing 1st grade work because of the skills they already had from Mimiz. I am so thankful to have found Mimiz & Im so happy my son has this upper hand so early in life because of her daily program. We first started our son at Mimiz Daycare when he was 1 year old. He is now almost 3 and we could not have found a better daycare for him in the southbay area. Mimi (proprietor/owner) has created a fantastic set up for kids there. There are now 2 locations (Los Gatos and Saratoga), both beautiful facilities and very self sufficient. Mimi is very knowledgable about child care and development and not only does she oversee everything in the minutest of details but also trains staff to meet daycare standards. They have a full schedule of activities both indoor and outside. My son`s learning curve has grown exponentially as Mimiz is always teaching new things every day. The homecooked wholesome meals and snacks (which I have sampled) are a big plus. It is made fresh every morning in the daycare kitchen and they have a separate set up for kids like mine who are vegetarian. In addition Mimi and her staff are very loving. The kids are taught to be polite and disciplined from a very young age but with a nurturing attitude. Our friends have commented on how well behaved and friendly our son is and I feel he definitely has developed a lot of good social skills at the daycare. My son got potty trained few months back. There is a very small one time potty training fee which is totally worth it as the staff take a lot of effort to potty train (taking him to the potty every 20 minutes for few weeks, teaching hand hygeine etc ). For first time parents like us, it was completely hasslefree at home. I feel that during the hours that our son spends away from home, he is in a loving and stimulating family like environment where he can thrive. Most importantly, I know he is really happy there. My 2-1/2 year old has been with Mimi since she was 18 months old. I have a 6 year old as well and all I can say is I wish I had sent my 6 year old to Mimi as well when he was younger. Mimi offers the perfect balance between play time and learning time. My child can already recognize shapes, colors and count! Another added bonus is Spanish. They teach them songs in both English and Spanish and my daughter can now count up to 10 in Spanish as well. The thing I like the most about Mimiz is that she offers a structured curriculum, emphasizes on discipline and at the same time provides an environment that makes the kids feel extremely loved and secure. She provides nutritious and healthy food and my daughter absolutely loves it. Sometimes if she is fussy at home about dinner I don't stress out cause I know for a fact she has eaten really well all day long. Another thing that impressed me was the quality of the art projects they do and send home with the kids. They are always so neat and well thought. Mimi is also very cautious in employing other teachers and helpers. She has high standards and ensures that any person who is going to interact with the kids lives up to those standards. My daughter has been going to Mimiz daycare for a year now and I can't express how glad I am to have found Mimi. I started working when my daughter was 2 years old and was really nervous about finding a good daycare for her. I expected a few weeks of crying every morning but it was the opposite of that. Mimi provides such a warm environment that she felt safe and enjoyed going to school from day one. She learned a lot in the last year. She can write her name, recognize all the letters, shapes and knows many songs. As another reviewer mentioned, potty training was so easy. Mimi got her so excited about using the toilet that we didn't have to do much at home. It is a big relief for me to know my daughter is in a warm, nurturing environment while I am at work. My son has been attending Mimiz since May 2012 and has loved every day. We can't believe how much he has learned and accomplished in two years and are sad to say that he will miss Mimi and all of his teachers, as well as, peers when he enters kindergarten this Fall. My daughter has been attending Mimi's daycare since December 2012 (when she turned 1)... To be honest I can be categorized as the paranoid mother who just can't get satisfied with anyone taking care of my child... I must have visited close to 15 daycares and finally came across Mimiz daycare... I loved that it was a home daycare but it was completely separate from their actual home... In the beginning, Mimi was very understanding of my feelings and kept updating me on how she was doing through calls and text messages. It was so nice to see that they let her take her time to settle in... and trust me.. in a place like hers the kids settle in so fast. Food: She sent home samples of the food that she would give the kids and wanted my approval on it (or she would have made changes for her). I totally loved the food she sent home. So nutritious and wholesome! Events: They hold quite a few events in the daycare and involve all of us in it. Its so nice to see them grow up and show us what they can do... I loved meeting other parents who were just as happy as we were. Education: I have to say... I cannot ask for more individual attention. They know everything every child can do and is capable of. They make sure they talk to you when necessary to get help from us. They send us homework to make sure that they do not lose touch over the weekends or long breaks. My daughter is now 2.5 and she can sing pretty much any song I sing without me having to repeat it more than twice. Thats a skill that they showed me she had... if there is any trouble with a specific activity, they make sure they talk to you right away so you can help in it as well. Discipline: They let the kids grow up in their own terms with some boundaries. They do not force things on the kids but at the same time try to teach them the difference between right and wrong with simple methods. I seriously look at how they deal with things and it reminds me of my own parents playing "good cop/bad cop" One person disciplined verbally and the other person stays close to them and reassures them that its just a small issue and they can get out of it. Its so nice to see that... I feel at ease working full time and never even have to worry about how she's doing during the day. That is all thanks to Mimi and all the lovely teachers there. read more

My son will start Kindergarten this fall. He started at Mimiz school when he was just over a year old. He had stayed until then and we were looking for a daycare that would be as close to a home environment as possible while providing a safe place for him to socialize with other kids. 3 years later, he found that and more. Mimiz daycare provides a warm, friendly clean place with a well rounded routine which includes class time, activities and indoor and outdoor playtime and great food (regarding the food; we recently got back from a vacation and on the way to Mimi's my son said "wow, I'm going to get Mimi's food today"; that in itself says a lot coming from a 4 year old) . He was potty trained here, he learnt to read and write numbers and alphabets here and he has made wonderful friends here. He starts kindergarten this fall and he is going there very well prepared, thanks to Mimi. Mimi is a very warm, generous person whose kindness extends not to the kids who go there but also the kids entire family. We have had such a good experience here; I would recommend Mimiz daycare to all my friends. read more

We absolutely love Mimiz and feel so fortunate our son was able to spend two years there. Our son joined Mimiz right before his first birthday. Mimiz is a perfect hybrid between a home daycare and daycare center. The facility is spacious for indoor and outdoor play, but still feels "homey." He always came home happy, singing songs in English and Spanish. We knew he loved school and that he was loved in return. When I would pick him up, he sometimes wouldn't want to come home and I would embarrassingly have to chase him around the yard...that's when you know you found the right place. This is a family run business and the pride and joy in ownership shows in how clean the place is and the children's characters hand painted on the wall by Amir. Sam greets the kids each morning and always makes sure your messages and questions are communicated. Mimi also threw the best and elaborate parties (Halloween, Christmas) for her kids. Also remarkable is how happy the teachers are. And did I mention most their food on the menu is organic? Our son is now a happy, inquisitive, expressive, and musical 3yr old and we are certain it was because of the well-rounded and nurturing experience he had at Mimiz. We were sad we had to switch schools because we had to move for my job. He still asks about Mimiz on some mornings. We will always think fondly of our experience at Mimiz, and happy to call them family now. read more
