My daughter has been attending ADC for a few yrs. New teacher, Miss Aida, was previously welcomed this yr to teach/direct her own classroom. She definitely had taken over and exceeded my expectations. The positive vibes, comfort, trust, & dedication is what many parents rely on and I was lucky to have observed her in action. Not only, my daughter comes home and mimics her fun and motivating behavior to think outside of the box and connect with other classmates. The difference? Her vocabulary has expanded tremendously! We love this school! My son started at Amber's summer camp and is now in first grade. He loves going to school every day and is very happy there. The curriculum is very well balanced, covering math, reading, writing, grammar, social studies, science, art, music, Spanish, computer science, and PE. The school also offers a wide range of enrichment programs. My son currently attends chess, coding, 3D design, and video production (all taught by Mr. Marquez -- he really enjoys those classes!), as well as hip hop and the soccer league. All of the classrooms are well structured and organized. My son absolutely loves his teacher, Mrs. Bylund. She is very patient, supportive, and caring. She has helped him join and feel comfortable in group play, recognized his strengths, and encouraged him to try his best. She also communicates very well with parents -- posting all important information on Google Classroom and sharing classroom photos on Google Photos. The amount of homework and testing feels just right, and from his take-home folder I can tell how much he has learned. The weekly newsletter and homework sheet give parents a clear overview of what the class covered and what's coming next. Even the specialty teachers -- in Spanish, computer science, music, and PE -- send their own newsletters, which I really appreciate. For kids who don't take extra enrichment classes, the after-school teachers provide great support with homework, reading, and play. The school also organizes lots of fun community events such as Movie Night, the Halloween Carnival, Winter Wonderland, and many more. The new principal, Mrs. Hecht, is wonderful -- very supportive and approachable. She often greets the kids on the playground, and every morning my son runs up to give her a hug! She's always available if parents need to discuss anything or have any questions. The office staff are also friendly and helpful, and the parent community is warm and engaging -- I've really enjoyed meeting other parents through the parent association and soccer league. I am in love with action day elementary!!! My son has been attending since kindergarten and now starting second grade he has had nothing but good things to say!! I love that I have found a safe place for my son to learn , grow, and love attending . The office staff Ms. Madison, Ms. Leah , Coach Casey, have always been helpful when I had a question . We had started at Action Day back in May. And we were very happy. The then director Katheryn Muniz was on top of it! She was quick with answering emails, when I would pick my son(2 yrs old at the time) she was right there assisting with the after school care of the kids. We would receive thorough daily reports & pictures! We felt we had made the right choice. That all changed after a month. Katheryn was no longer the director and our experience went down the drain. We no longer received new pictures, the daily report notes sometimes said "he played in the sand." I would pick my son up and his diaper would be full. I got tired of casually mentioning it and I started changing my son's diaper there before I left. One particular day just before Father's Day I went to pick my son up and as you enter the classroom they have the children's artwork/portfolios, etc. All the father's day frames had been painted with a handprint for their child. Ours was completely empty. That's one of the things I've been looking forward to as a father was receiving artwork from my child. I understand children can be difficult to participate, let alone my son who isn't the easiest. But at the time this wasn't a full class, paint could've easily been put on my son's hand and pressed on paper. Especially considering the outrageous cost for this school, it's the least that could be done. :::Note::: Leah did make it right and mailed us a father's day hand artwork collage, so I appreciate that! Nice of her to do that. That's not the worst part of that day. I quickly got over my disappointment and went to pick up my son. At the time my son didn't say many words but he knew the basics of what to ask for(water being one of his first words). I get there(keep in mind: it's June) it's a hot day. My son runs up to me red faced, sweaty instead of saying his usual "Dadda" he says "water...water..." I immediately carry him to the classroom where they keep all the water bottles(very odd) and it's empty. I proceed to fill it up and he drinks the entire 10oz water bottle in seconds! I fill it up again and he drinks it half way. At the time of pick up(4:10pm) Ms. Nancy was watching the kids but in no way is this her fault. If it was on anybody it was Ms. Suswetta who was responsible for making sure each child had drank enough water. She's human. It's easy to overlook something when you have 10+ kids but hydration is very important, especially in the summer months. We informed new director Leah who said she was "investigate". Sure enough we are informed she spoke to Ms. Suswetta that my son was given water... she really double downed on that and said my son was given water. I wasn't looking for Ms. Suswetta to be punished or lose her job. I wasn't looking for anything except and apology and a "we'll do better" comment. That's it, but we couldn't even get that. No ownership. I'm not the type of person to ask for a refund if my meal is done wrong. But to sit their and just deny it happened was beyond disrespectful. How do they not have the water bottles outside? How are they not enforcing hydration? I've been there plenty of times to pick up my son and saw other kids in their sweaters on hot days, pretty insane to me. Everyone makes mistakes but instead of denying them, learn from them! I just hope they read my comment and do better! The company that employs the aides told me that they service other Action Day's and other locations provide water coolers outside. My daughter is in first grade and has had a great experience here. Ms. House was her kinder teacher. Her classroom was very structured but also very fun. My daughter loved her and still goes out of her way to find her and give her a big hug! This year she is in Ms. Callejas class. Ms. Callejas has so much patience and really connects with the students. She creates a great classroom community and focuses on their social development as well as the academics. She has really challenged her and helped her make huge jumps in her reading and math abilities this year! She has many qualities: compassion, enthusiasm, and excellent communication skills. My son has ADHD and Absence Epilepsy since he was three years old, and for so many years, we have struggled to find the correct medicine and doses for him. He went from being aggressive to other students and unable to sit and work in class to being a happy, kind, and lovely boy who now participates in school activities just like any other student. The support Mrs. Hogue provided us was a blessing for us. She supports us with accommodations in the classroom to help our son and work with us and the aide to achieve our goals. As a father who has sent two children to Action Day Amber School for a year, I would like to write a review. Initially, I was surprised by how different the school's scenery was from that of Korea. The fact that all buildings were single-story was momentarily confusing, but I think it's better for safety reasons. Also, the vast grassy fields seem almost too large for the children to play in. It's great that I can send both of my children, who attend Kinder and Pre-school, together. The teachers here seem to focus on education that respects the autonomy of the children, and it's beneficial for fostering inclusiveness as the children get the opportunity to interact with peers from diverse ethnic backgrounds. My child in Kinder couldn't speak English at all initially, but now can communicate in English and read sentences. Additionally, the availability of separate classes for physical education, music, and science provides varied learning opportunities. I was a bit apprehensive when I first visited the school, but Leah Kidger, who is in charge of the Elementary School, offered a warm welcome and helpful explanations that eased my concerns. Action Day Amber, what can I say but all great things! I have 3 children that attend, and have been with the program now going on 13 years. All three of my children have excelled in there studies and are learning quite a bit ahead of themselves by 1-2 grade levels. The teachers and staff are all attentive, and make it a point to get to know your children and find each of there niches. I love the small school setting - it's as if everyone knows everyone. You want to go where everyone knows your name. Well- this is the place! One well seasoned teacher in particular (2nd grade) Mrs Hogue, has the most patience in the world. She has had all three of my children now and I can't say enough about how she has taught each one of them. I would highly recommend this school if you are thinking about making a change. read more

Great staff, very devoted teachers, great parent-teacher interaction, nice campus, good enrichment opportunities for students. Their summer camp is also great. The only thing I didn't like is the amount of sugary snacks kids are given. Cupcakes, cookies, candies, donuts etc. In addition to allowing kids to distribute these during their birthdays, teachers also reward kids with candies for a job well done which I found very disturbing. My kid's food habits went for a toss and we had a very difficult time. I do wish they'd implement a policy of no sugary snacks for birthdays and stop giving them candies to appreciate their effort. How do I review in elementary school I started going to over 47 years ago? I think I start with my memories some good and some bad, the teachers I had and the friends I had some are living and some are dead. The punks..now called bullies. The cute girl that broke my heart. The friends that are still my childhood friends...and yes we still hang out ;) the memories of all the classes singing on stage for Christmas. As my son's first year of school is coming to an end I am just so thrilled with our choice to go with Action Day Elementary Amber. I recently shared the following with them. "Everybody knows my son's name. School feels like a second home to him. He doesn't understand why Ms. Kendy and Mr. Andres aren't at our house on holidays. I absolutely love that he has STEAM and PE every week. I love that he has extra curricular classes that he loves and I'm not driving everywhere. First and foremost though is that my son has learned so much in class. Not only academics, but how to be a good person, I mean, " How was your day today Mommy?" kills me every time. When he got in trouble for talking, he explained it to me through tears. He has a relationship with his teachers and he was sad that he disappointed them. I toured the infant/toddler room. The staff was nice and the room was acceptable. CONS: The outside front area of the infant building. They had all kinds of random junk that they were storing. It appeared trashy, needs to be removed, and they need to maintain order and cleanliness. This review is for the Preschool program. We used my husbands backup care as our usual daycare was closed for holiday for the week. We planned to attend the preschool program hoping it would be a wonderful experience for my 2.5 year old. I honestly was looking for a great place to transition him to and was excited to try ADPP. Unfortunately, it was not. Upon arrival on our first day the teacher did not seem very warm and seemed more irritated we were ruining her usual routine. We arrived on day 2 and my son began to cry uncontrollably. He said he didn't want to stay. I thought surely it's anxiety being in a new place, and I brought him in anyway. My son asked me to stay and play with him. So I did in an attempt to help transition him to the new environment. As I was there I watched how the teacher spoke to the children without any respect. Her tone of voice was very condescending and rude to the little 2 year olds. When the director came in he changed the environment of the room. He was so friendly and happy he lit up the room. So again I thought it was ok to leave him. Day 3, I go to drop him off he cries again and says he doesn't want to stay. I bring him into the classroom and the teacher promises myself and my son that she will play with him outside. I walk away and hide around the corner so he can not see me. He continues to cry for over 5 minutes and no one comes to his aid to make him feel better. He was just left standing at the gate alone to cry. At that point I removed him from the school and canceled the backup care for the rest of the week. If you are using backup care be prepared for your son or daughter to be treated like a second class citizen. They didn't even take the time to spell his name right on his lunch box, cup, art work etc. You think someone would have noticed. I wasn't going to write this review thinking perhaps I was being a crazy mama bear, but my son woke up having nightmares and referring to the teacher and his experience there. I think parents should be very wary especially when using backup care. read more

Our introduction to Action Day Primary Plus was with the El Quito campus. Coming from a previous place where she panicked and melted down whenever we dropped her off, we were relieved when she actually looked forward to going to school and excelled. Moving her to Amber for elementary was not in our original plan. Because we live in South San Jose we were going to give the public school a try. The try lasted one week and we realized moving her to Amber was a complete no brainer. She was still playing sports and was on the WVDK dance team. Between my son and daughter, our kids have attended the ADPP Amber School for the last six years (1st through 4th grades for both kids). I am so sad this is our last year at such a wonderful school with the faculty and staff we have come to know and care so much about. We were so grateful to be able to send our kids to school in person despite the pandemic this school year. After attempting and completely failing to conduct virtual school with my kids at home, while my husband and I tried to do our full-time jobs at the same time, we knew that if the kids could go to school safely that we would send them. The Amber School was able to be open for summer 2020 with state guidance and approval, so when we had the all-clear to send them back in September, we felt quite comfortable doing so. Looking back over the past eight months, I can see how unbelievably lucky we are to be a part of the ADPP schools during these unprecedented times. My daughter, who is now in 4th grade at the Amber School, has not stopped learning or growing because of the wonderful work of her teacher, Mrs. Alanen, and the amazing staff and administrators of the Amber School. The amount of work the faculty and staff do every single day to keep the kids on track and continuing to learn and thrive is amazing, and all of this is done while the school does absolutely everything to keep the kids safe. Mrs. Alanen basically has two jobs as a teacher, as she not only teaches the kids working from home (the "Zoomers"), but she is also teaching the kids attending in person (the "Roomers"). She is an absolute star and has never complained or passed her challenges onto the kids. Instead, she has adapted and modified and worked to make sure that every child walks out of 4th grade a success. We have been an ADPP family for 12 years now and are even more grateful today for each day our kids get to attend their schools. read more

Our son has thrived at Primary Plus Elementary. He's attended the school since kindergarten and is just wrapping up third grade. The staff are friendly, compassionate, and helpful. My son's teachers have been excellent (Mrs. Brown in K; Miss Dietz in 1st; Mrs. Hogue in 2nd; Mrs. Rivas in 3rd), and I really appreciate how they take time to know him and his interests. Primary Plus has been a great fit for my son as the teachers have been responsive and helpful in adapting teaching methods to suit his style of learning. My son is just finishing his first academic year, Jr. Kinder with Primary Plus and we couldn't be more pleased with everything! He has learned so much over his year here and he absolutely loves his school. It's so special to me that almost the whole entire staff knows my child and greets him by name when they see him. There are always extra activities going on like dance, karate, Lego camp, tennis ect. Which is a huge plus when your child spends so much of their time there during the day and late afternoons. We moved to the Bay Area in 2005 with our two children, who were one and three years old. After doing some research, we found an Action Day center location in Mountain View and enrolled my kids there. After having experienced some poor daycare providers in the past, I knew we hit the jackpot when my kids looked forward to seeing their teachers each day. We switched locations after a couple of years as my oldest son was ready for kindergarden. We enrolled them at the Amber campus, which has both preschool and an elementary school onsite. The care the teachers continued to provide far exceeded our expectations. My husband and I became a part of the community and enjoyed working side by side with the staff. My kids formed strong bonds with both other students and teachers. I also get many compliments on how start my kids are...and that's not just me being a biased mother! :) Both of my kids have tested at least one grade level above average in reading! In 2010, we moved to Seattle. Having to say goodbye was difficult, but we promised to stay in touch. During visits, we often stopped by to say hi and the teachers and staff were always genuinely excited to see my boys. We ended up moving back to San Jose in 2012 and never once considered enrolling my boys anywhere else. It was as though we never left. Their friends were there, the friendly faces of the staff were there...it was great seeing my boys so happy to be back in school. In June 2013, we had another baby. He's now five months old and is thriving at the Phelan location, which is on the same campus as West Valley Middle School (where my oldest son now attends). Ms. Sophie is FANTASTIC! I love seeing my baby's face light up when he sees her. I have referred people to Action Day/Primary Plus in the past and, without any hesitation, will continue to do so in the future. read more

School is only good for pre-school and as a day care. Their academics from K onwards is very weak.

My oldest son is 5.5 and he is attending the kindergarten program there, I wouldn't be happier his teacher is Excellent , yeah I mean it Excellent . The academic program is very rich, and the enrichment program is one of the best , they do computer lab, science , music . They do have a library that they can use and also iPads . The staff is amazing from the front office to the teachers and the assistants. A great professional team, very helpful . I drive everyday from north east Santa Clara to south San Jose and it's worth it. I feel very confident with a peace of mind leaving my son there. At Amber school you get more than education , my son is learning how to be confident about himself , how to be a good citizen in the future and all this in a fun way, infact everyday what I picked him up , I asked him " how was your day?" he replied " a lot of fun Mom" what a wonderful answer. And the best off all is that before getting him to this school, his old school was action day "Phelan " They make him visit the school twice, in a purpose to introduce him to his futur school where he is going to attend his kindergarten year, both times they make him do some crafts , read some books,visit classrooms , so my son was very well prepared to attend this new location. And in addition to this we had about 3 conferences that we attended as parents ( with free child care of course and a hot dinner served to the kids , Action day think about everything ) to learn about the program, so we had chance to meet the teachers, talk about their program.that's what we call Action Day "plan ahead , stay ahead". Amber staff is very professional , they know how to deal with kids, From the Director to the whole staff, they make you feel that they are family and you are part of it, they care about everybody. If you are looking for a school that have a very rich program with a wonderful staff , this is the best place, I wish I can rate this school 6 or 7 stars . The hot lunch is my favorite part, so everyday they have a very healthy meal to serve for the kids, and the best is that you have the option to choose either hot lunch or you pack a lunch box for your kids, and on those days when you are tired and you don't want to prepare it for your kids, don't worry Michelle luncheon will take care of it. Most of the teachers are Moms ,so you don't feel like you are dropping your kids with just employees at a private school but you feel like you are leaving them with their second mom, and that's true I call my kids teachers their second mom, in fact my older son calls me from time to time with his teacher's name. the team is awesome and with a lot of experience.in fact I referred 3 of my friends and they are very grateful that I make them know this place, and their kids are eager to go to school everyday. I left the best for the end, usually when we talk about private schools we never know or meet the owner, sometimes it's just name on the official paper. But this is not what happen at Action Day, the owner is at the head of the Administration, and I met her so many times, and she is awesome, very humble, down to earth, you feel like you are part of her Big Family, yes that's the truth, and I feel that way. Excellent school!!! My daughter is excited to attend and even more to learn. The teachers all truly care about the children. The parents are so friendly they become a extended family and aid in the child's support system. The extra curriculum events are wonderful. My both sons have been with Action day / Primary Plus for several years and we have been very happy with the school. They both attended Allen campus, but this year my older one went to the Amber campus for the 1st grade. He adores his teacher Mrs. Fawal and writes love letters to her. We are very happy with her approach, since she is very structured, academic oriented and - as we can clearly see, wins the kids hearts. We could not wish for a better teacher. We have been with Action Day since my son was 1.5 year old. We have gone to two other day cares throughout the years and have always found our way back to Action Day. With our son turning 6years old we have decided to keep him in the Amber Action Day School as long as we can provide to do so. The teachers, staff and fellow parents are A++. My youngest daughter started pre-school at Primary Plus Amber campus last year. We were so impressed by the quality care and attention my daughter received that we moved our 3rd grader from another school to Primary Plus this year. The small class size has made a positive impact on our daughters ability to excell. The small campus has given us the opportunity to connect with the teachers & staff. The teachers are serious about academics but they find ways to make learning fun. My daughters look forward to going to school each day because they love their teachers! I have 3 year old twins who have been attending the preschool at Action Day Primary Plus on Amber Drive since last Fall. We LOVE the school, the facilities are beautiful, and the teachers are amazing - all thanks to the wonderful preschool director, Mr. Richard Fuentes! He is involved in all his classrooms, knows all the kids by name (and there are a LOT of them!), and consistently organizes awesome events that our kids love! We love, love, LOVE Primary Plus! Our oldest daughter attended all through elementary school and our son is currently enrolled in Kindergarten at this campus. The quality of the education that is offered is exemplary. There is a real sense of belonging when you attend this school. Relationships are built, not just between the students, but between the parents and teachers, too. The class sizes are small which makes individualized attention feasible for the teachers. Many of the teachers that are currently teaching at Primary Plus have been there for 10+ years. Their love for their job and the genuine care that they feel for the kids is very evident in their lesson plans and classroom activities. My daughter has attended Primary Plus Action Day Care this school semester. The office staff, her teachers are Wonderful!! They are so good to my daughter and me. Action Day is excellent! My oldest attended for two years before transitioning to public school. Now my youngest is in the Pre-School program. It was the best thing we could have done for him. He was originally at a home care environment until she moved out of state in October. I was very fortunate that they accepted him with open arms after the school year had already started. In just about two months, we've seen a major transformation in his attitude, personality and capabilities! He's such a big boy! It's a relief to know he's adapted easily to his new school, loves his new teachers and new friends! The teachers and staff really care for the well being of their students. What a great school. My son has been with Action Day Primary Plus since he was a baby, first at the Lincoln Facility and now at Amber. With our public schools having over 25+ kids per class, they are able to keep class sizes small!!! Such supportive staff and GREAT Teachers that can work with our kids in stead of just trying to keep control of a large class. They have everything there, music, sports and dance. Great after school programs and summer "Camp Tiki" are the best. My son loves going to school. We have found our second family there. Where shall I begin about this place? First off, this is not a private school like you may think. It is not a Challenger, Harker, Academy, Stratford or any of those. The teachers are mostly teachers who did not finish their schooling. Some of the teachers and staff have no background in education at all. I have heard that the teachers get paid very little. In fact, they are some of the poorest paid teachers in the area. They also are extremely pricy for what you get. They have hardly any new computers or electronics such as LCD projectors, and they want parents or the ACC to donate alot of this stuff. They have a very high turn around- many teachers leave every year. I gave them one star because the classroom sizes are are small which benefits the kids. The problem, however, is that most teachers just assign work and do not practice new educational strategies. From what I have heard, they can be very crooked with their business practices too. I would not send my sons there if you paid me. Do not be surprised if they respond to this posting with raving reviews. They'd go that far, and create great reviews of themselves, trust me. read more

The teachers at this school are excellent and give the students excellent guidance. I have 2 kids here and they love this school and their teachers. They are approachable, easy to reach, and listen to a parents concerns, to help the kids. I have a daughter who graduated this year and was accepted to 3 of the top schools in Silicon Valley, with their help. read more
