Stratford: the most expensive way to get less education…read more Stratford operates like a corporation first and a school second. My daughter attended from age three through 4th grade. We chose to withdraw because the 5th-grade campus commute would have been unreasonable. We communicated this intention clearly and repeatedly, in person, to the principal (Preethi Chadha) and her 4th-grade teacher. Despite that, Stratford charged a 10% withdrawal fee on annual tuition, claiming notice was not submitted to the "corporate" office. At no point did anyone proactively flag this requirement, remind us, or make any effort to prevent the fee--after years of tuition and what we believed was a community relationship. The result felt less like a policy and more like a revenue mechanism. Moving to Los Gatos public schools was eye-opening: materially better support, stronger administration, and none of the "tuition-with-fees" experience. To be clear, our criticism is not of the teachers--we had several excellent educators doing their best. The issue is administrative and institutional. If you're considering Stratford, go in with clear eyes: their priorities are corporate first, families second.

From day one, she has been loved, nurtured, and truly cared for. The teachers, director, and staff are wonderful. They are kind, patient, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child. The classrooms are always clean, spacious, and welcoming, and the overall environment feels warm and positive. The curriculum is excellent and well rounded, and I love that the kids get so many enrichment opportunities. They bring in music, dance, and theater teachers, and the children even get to participate in two musical productions each year, which is such a special experience. The school also hosts thoughtful seasonal and holiday events that make the community feel connected and fun. A special shout-out to Ms. Trini, the school chef and flower keeper. She is an absolute gem and brings so much heart into everything she does. We had a bit cold one weekend and Monday was ok, but I still asked her if she wants to go to her daycare or stay home with mommy, she first said stay with mommy , then thought about it and said, no to day care! I saw many preschools before we enrolled, and I think this is the best one for our needs. It's very strong academically, with the right teachers who are in this school for years not change all the time. There is specific program for each age and I can see the progress in my kids! It's all very clean and nice. Kids wear slippers in the classroom and change to shoes when eh go out to play in the nice playground divided into two age groups so that little ones will be more safe and bigger can run without worry. There is musical class with al teacher music playing piano and kids singing and dancing, every day. During nap time, kids sleep in their pj which I liked so much! I don't have to worry if they my kids eat well or warm enough. Even if I forgot to bring additional layer and teacher thinks it too cold, they will always find jacket to put on in addition to make sure kids are warm. There are many additional classes with a fee, but so nice to have all in one place without driving around and then see all theatre shows and recitals where kids perform and sow what they learn. Most kids a Russian speaking, but not all. Some have mixed parents and some have patents who don't speak Russian, but appreciate all re benefits of the school and send their kids so I if you a looking for great school with strong academical program and social skills, that's the ace for you, no matter which language you speak at home.

One other constant at the school has been the amazing celebration of diversity of the students, families, and staff.
