We were quite lucky to get our child a spot at ADZ. Akanksha has been running ADZ for years (more than a decade) now. I know a few parents who were in line to get into ADZ but couldn't, so I know how sought out this place is (See the phenomenal number of rave reviews here: http://homelydaycare.weebly.com/parent-reviews).
Once our child started going to ADZ it was easy to see why ADZ is such a favored daycare among parents. Not only does ADZ provide reliable and affordable childcare so important to working parents but also provides holistic early childhood education to children.
*Settings*: This is a mixed age group daycare with 12-14 kids.
*Care*: Akanksha makes sure the kids are fed fresh, delicious and healthy meals, spoon feeding the kids when they are young and helping them develop independence as they grow older. Our kid who is a picky eater loves the food at Akanksha's. She also takes care of establishing a set routine for naps, food and play that is so important for young children.
*Cognitive development*: Akanksha and her team of teachers read to the kids, engage the children in pretend play of real world situations (e.g., how a fire can be handled), take the children out to field trips, talk about issues (e.g, Covid), teach them how to write and count (and do addition/subtraction). They also introduce science experiments at this age! We are amazed at how they manage to introduce these concepts to these budding minds.
*Linguistic development*: Akanksha and her team of teachers introduce kids to Spanish and Hindi apart from English. Our kid introduces us to words and songs from these languages.
*Emotional and social development*: This is a highlight of Akanksha's daycare. The children at the day care form an incredibly close bond and are a pleasure to interact with. Akanksha models kind and gentle behavior, influencing and engaging cooperation rather than demanding it. Kids pick up on this and model similar kind and gentle behavior at home. Akanksha respects every kid and modifies how she responds to kids needs based on their personality. She encourages emotional expression which is so critical for young kids. This has a big impact on our kid who can talk about her feelings and work through them from a young age.
*Cultural development*: Akanksha and her teachers help children learn about different cultures, festivals and customs using play (e.g., dress up or art).
*Hygiene and self care*: Akanksha and her team help children learn about the importance of hand washing, physical exercise and taking care of their bodies. Her team helps kids exercise on a regular basis to build strength and stability. They help potty train the kids. And as a bonus, they have visits from eye doctors and dentists for health screening and guidance.
Beyond these, Akanksha communicates with parents about the developmental phases each child is going through. She is very open to input and taking special circumstances and personality types into consideration while helping the child.
We have no hesitation in highly recommending ADZ to anyone. read more
