We committed to the afternoon appointment at Ivoryology to try on a few more dresses in order for the bride to be sure. Our salesperson, Bailey, gave our group zero direction on how the process would take place, she sent us all out to pick dresses only to quickly respond by telling us we chose the wrong types of dresses out of the VERY small handful we were instructed to choose from. The dresses that Bailey chose were far from anything our bride would wear but she was pushy about trying them on, which our bride graciously did even though the experience felt unpleasant, impersonal and a waste of everyone's time. Since the appointment was clearly going nowhere, and fast, the bride requested to cut the appointment short due to how uncomfortable we all felt. When the Maid of Honor very politely and honestly shared with Bailey that this wasn't working out and the bride was quite sure she had found her dream dress elsewhere Bailey's attitude quickly turned, loudly telling us multiple times that it was a CURSE to keep looking for a wedding dress after you believed you had already found "the one". She told us we were cursed at least fifteen times; we all wanted to crawl out of our skin and get out of there as quickly as possible. Bailey easily could have politely said that she understood and wished the bride all the best, but since she was not getting a sale she instead decided to ruin a newly engaged girl's wedding dress shopping experience. This store may want to try spending less time and money on its social media content and more on etiquette and sophistication training for its employees.

I was a little frantic at first being that our wedding is the first weekend in September - but Carolyn and the staff were so receptive and helpful throughout the entire wait. They called me as soon as we were able to reschedule (unlike other places that I had to call several times), and they truly made me a priority! Although my family couldn't visit from out of town as planned due to the virus, I was still able to make the most of our search, plus the options Carolyn had set for me were perfect! They see an average of about 60 brides every Saturday. Sixty. That alone tells you how trusted and loved this place is. Another thing I love is that weddings today often involve multiple looks. The initial appointment to look/try on dresses was great. Everyone was nice and felt super…read morewelcomed. We ended up custom ordering my dress length so I wouldn't have to pay to have it hemmed. They did not order it like they were supposed to and it came in WAY too long. Every appointment after that for alterations were horrible. I felt SUPER uncomfortable and the seamstress wouldn't explain things to me when I didn't understand. (I'm not a big dress wearer so all things alterations are gibberish to me). When I went to my last appointment to check them gem, I didn't like it because I felt it was too short (you could see the tops of my feet) and I was given nothing but attitude and basically told I was wrong for not liking my hem. Now I've picked up my dress, got home to try it on and show my mother, the hem is EXTREMELY uneven. Like, she just completely forgot to cut half of my dress. (We're talking a good 2-3 inches of extra fabric). The lace is peeling up I'm pretty much every spot it was re-laid (can't think of the correct word) AND I was charged not only for all the alterations (which is obviously expected) BUT ALSO the custom length order, that wasn't even done. So now I'm 2 weeks out from my wedding and i have to fix my wedding dress MYSELF because they did such a crappy job. I will never buy from here again or recommend to anyone.
