Despite having a website and being TICA approved (at the time), I think this is actually a backyard breeder like the kind you hear about on the news. The cat arrived in a dirty, rusty carrier. After the cat arrived the breeder shared additional photos of their cattery (to get me to buy additional cats), and it looked a bit rough. The cats are kept in rusty chicken-wire enclosures outside year round. Before purchase, the breeder promised TICA registration papers (and even emailed me a photo of her filling the forms out) but I never got them despite a dozen reassurances I'd get them very soon. That was about 8 months ago and every month they are always "3 weeks away" from arriving. In my state it's illegal to have this kind of cat without the registration papers, which is why I purchased from a TICA approved breeder instead of adopting rescues like I normally do with my pets. When I went to TICA to file a report, I discovered Mimicry is no longer TICA approved, and another breeder told me Mimicry is unethical. So now I have an illegal cat and feel awful for supporting what apparently turned out to be an unethical breeding operation. read more
