I dont love shopping there as it feels cramped compared to other local supermarkets. The isles are tighter and shorter than asda or morrisons. The fruit and veg section always annoys me. Keep the fruits toghether and the veg together!!! They have fruit down one isle mixed with veg and other fruit/veg on the other and you cant seem to find what you want the first time round and end up doing a couple of circuits. Think it could be better arranged. They have a large health beauty section which is quite good and the usual home, albums, clothing etc. Handy if you live in milngavie but not worth a trip out to milngavie if not.

I absolutely adore the lady at the bakery, she always lets me know what's freshest and the best deals on at the store! The checkout can be a bit slow because people in Milngavie tend to be quite chatty, but that is part of the experience! Yes, prices are definitely higher than Tesco, and few things are what I would call a bargain. However, the quality is definitely superior than most stores especially when it comes many of the pre-packaged ready to eat food...I love their 2 for £3 salads! My current favourite is the zingy, seasonal salad with broccoli, cilantro (coriander), and chipotle-lime dressing! These salads are always fresh and much more ingenuitive than most pre-fix salads! Don't buy dog food here, no selection or large bags, and mostly only that slimy kibble for small dogs.

This isn't the nearest store to me, but browsing the shelves I was overwhelmed with the variety of products on offer and soon was having to resist the urge to go into a complete shopping frenzy. I realised that it felt like I was in an American supermarket. So much choice! So many new things to try! Must... resist.... As it was past lunchtime, we started off in the cafe and ordered a fish pie and a falafel wrap, with a couple of coffees and tarte au citrons (or lemon tart as they called it, clearly not trusting the erudition of the Milngavie residents). The coffee wasn't bad at all for a supermarket cafe, the experience only marred by the half-hour wait for the food to arrive, by which time it had gone cold and I was in need of a second one. Yes, it was rather busy, and they did apologise for the delay, but it would have been nice if they had warned us that it was going to take so long, whereupon I would have saved my coffee order until afterwards. However, the wrap was very tasty and came with a generous dollop of tzatziki on the side. The fish pie (Herself assures me) was also tasty, although the green salad came without any dressing, necessitating a raid on my tzatziki. Had we not had the delay in the cafe I would have given the place 5 stars. As it was, we came away with more purchases that we'd intended and considerably poorer than we'd planned; but then that's the main aim of a supermarket so they certainly succeeded there!

There is ample parking also and a good number of parent and child parking spaces. The store is bright yet warm and welcoming with lovely friendly staff, who are happy to help. There is also a Community room which hosts parent and toddler groups, exercise classes and can be used as meeting venue... All in all this Waitrose is a very welcome addition to the East Dunbartonshire area. Top marks from me for the lovely cafe!

I mean literally 3 of the 4 isles in the store are made up of freezers. If you need quick frozen hors d'oeuvres for a party, or you simply like frozen potstickers, stir fry etc, this is your place. The prices are also extremely reasonable. They also have a limited selection of other house hold items (basic produce, meats, dairy, home goods etc). The customer service is always very friendly, but that may also just be because it is in the small, friendly town of Milngavie. I am not going to lie, the only reason I usually come here is for ice cream and the large selection of frozen pizza :)

It was much bigger, cleaner and the staff were more attentive. The shelves were stacked tidily and the cafe sold the most delicious hot chocolate. You don't know what you've got until it's gone. A board at the front of the shops is filled with photos from the "Make a Difference" campaign detailing the work the supermarket does to benefit the Drumchapel community.

I have found it very handy to be able to post items on Sundays and on some Bank Holidays. This is a fabulous good value little supermarket, part of the Lidl chain which is so cheap on most…read morethings that your socks will be knocked off! They do all the usual supermarket stuff, except mostly their own brand goods, which is why it's so cheap. They are great for things like biscuits and confectionary and tinned goods, but the alcohol section is also great value (and quality) and the fruit and meat are surprisingly good too. They have recently started doing more papers and magazines and a better range of toiletries and cosmetics, so you could conceivably do your whole shop here, if you didn't mind foregoing top brands for own label products. The best thing about this shop though, is the great value nappies, and in this branch the friendly helpful staff. Be warned though, you need to bring your own bags or purchase a plastic one, so actually they are doing their bit for the environment too, as well as our pockets!
