Also, Karia took x-rays and assisted with the cleaning process too. They were all very pleasant and professional. I also had a dental procedure on Thursday, April 2nd to fill 3 cavities. I was given Ron Davidson and told he was their TMJ "specialist". I came into this office with pre existing conditions/details about my dental history that were crucially important in assessing an overall treatment plan. He over zealously spoke of one of his "inventions" the designed to treat TMJ/TMD issues such as pain and sleep. I explained that I was just out of Invisalign treatment on my top teeth and he said his "invention/retainer" would also take care of keeping my top front teeth aligned while the bone healed around them and they became more stable. I had spent $4000 on Invisalign. For the next several months I came into this office no less than 14 times with problems due to his "retainer/invention". During this time the top tooth that has the Invisalign treatment went back to its original position rendering my $4000 spent worthless. Davidson had to make a second retainer because he never could get the first one to fit correctly, even after multiple grinding sessions of both the retainer and my teeth, which are now hollowed out and sharp to the touch of my tongue. I clearly told him that the most important thing going on in my mouth was my front teeth as they pertain to my Invisalign treatment but that was not on his mind. He seemed obsessed with the idea that he would be able to put an additional notch in his belt in favor of his invention so he could get his pat on the back. I stopped going after, 14 visits, and grinding my teeth, he s=could not get my bite right. on my last visit, I came in and told him he needed to adjust my bite because on one side of my mouth only 1 front tooth was touching the opposing lower tooth and it was actually making any TMJ I did have, WORSE! He brushed me off and continued on with his inner dialogue about how wonderful he is and how he loves to solve PUZZLES! He also gave me pricing on not 2 (as requested) but 5 upper front crowns and 1 implant crown at (excluding temporary crowns and other "potential" costs) @ $24,000. Outrageous! In the beginning of this awful experience, Davidson said he would reimburse me for the retainer ($1100-very expensive for piece of plastic that never fit). I requested reimbursement weeks ago and I have heard nothing back from anyone in the practice). I went back to the orthodontist and my periodontist to confirm what I thought about his "treatment plan". He had ruined my Invisalign result, left my front teeth unstable and hurting, and ruined my bite. My periodontist sent me to a new dentist who had to fix my bite so I could even close my mouth. I don't leave reviews often, but will if I think I can help someone else out by providing inside information about the character of the people in this dental practice. Since Davidson is a principal/owner, it is only logical that he would tell his employees how to respond and deal with problems that inevitably arise when dealing with patients. I don't blame any of his employees, but I put the blame squarely on Davidson and his self aggrandizing behavior. Reimburse me the money you owe me Davidson...

The ladies up front and nurses did everything they could to help me with surgical scheduling issues due to school testing still going on with my 7yr old granddaughter and Pediatric appts for pre-op physicals for both. Those ladies went above and beyond. Dr P. Did exams on 2 of my 3 grandkids. Turned out they BOTH needed dental surgery. Dr.P did my 4yr old grandson and when I say he did SO good with my boy it was unbelievable. His mouth looked SOOOO good when Dr was finished! Dr P and the staff at the hospital kept me updated the entire surgery from start to finish. When my granddaughters turn came up Dr.P wasn't available so he intrusted another dentist from Lincolnton to her due to pushing surgery back for school to be out. HE was JUST as good. Kept us informed every step and put GOD guiding his hands and my granddaughter as priority. It was SO refreshing to know he is a praying man, doing everything he could to do a great job and each patient is his TOP concern. Unfortunately bc it was our first time meeting him, for the life of me I can't remember his name but if you EVER need help and for whatever reason they can't get to you there at happy teeth ask them for their surgical partner in Lincolnton. My granddaughter ALSO did wonderful and for once she didn't flip out when trying to be treated by dentist or hospital staff! I wish I had known about them MUCH sooner! And MEGANAWWWWW SHES SOOOOO freaking SWEET! She is awesome! The PATIENCE she has with my brand of crazy was the best lol I had a stroke so I tend to repeat myself and babble but she was patient, understanding, caring, funny and and most of all extremely helpful! All of them are, but MEGAN REALLY put my mind at ease today with my questions on our call when they called to check on my babies. So now I'm setting an appt for my 3rd baby to have something done about her thumb sucking that my granddaughters surgeon recommend before HER perfect teeth become a bigger, MORE expensive problem than JUST braces he advised she may need in the future if she doesn't stop sucking her thumb right NOW. ALL I know is hopefully nothing major happens again, but even if it's just general maintenance HAPPY TEETH HAS CLIENTS FOR LIFE with us! Or at minimum till the kids age out! I WISH they did adults! They have taken care of my son since he was 2 yrs old…read more Collin had a tooth enamel disease and everywhere I went in the Mooresville area they wanted to removal all of his baby teeth and replace them with veneers. This was a very expense proposition. Dr. Rankin and team were a god send because he said we could work with his baby teeth and make them strong enough to hold until his permanent teeth came in. Collin is 14 now and has all his permanent teeth that are very strong and healthy along with a great outlook that braces will not going to be needed. Again a blessing!! I would not trust my children to anyone else!! We love going to visit them twice a year and always enjoy our visits.

From the front office staff to the dentist, everyone was pleasant I encountered. I had an emergency and had to have 2 teeth removed and they completed the entire process from check in to walk out in less than 2 hours! No pain, no aggravation, no problem!!! She has been his patient for a few years so I already knew her past trauma with them. I am mom's caregiver. She is elderly and wears dentures. Cox fitted her about 3 years ago but it took 4 tries over the course of 6 months to get it right. Mom was in constant pain from sores because the denture didn't fit right. The sores had to heal so she couldn't wear the teeth at all between the multiple mis-fittings, and wasn't able to eat solid food. She dropped weight as a result and having no teeth affected her self-esteem, so it was a difficult and stressful time for her. Finally Cox got them fitted right and all was well until a recent cleaning when they insisted she needed them adjusted because she lost weight. Mom did not request this and even told them the dentures were comfortable. She was apprehensive and didn't want to risk it or go without teeth, but Cox's office persisted. They called our house and left messages for weeks, promising everything would be fine. Mom finally consented after many times saying no and telling them she was worried. They made the adjustments and she described to Cox how one side felt higher, but was ignored and they sent her home saying if you need anything just call. When she chewed, the edge of the denture was sharp and cut her. I found her in pain on the sofa holding the side of her face and her denture had blood on it from the cut, and she couldn't finish her meal. I went to Cox's website to make an appointment and indicated an emergency, stating details about the sore and needing to be seen right away. Mom couldn't sleep last night for being upset and in pain. Before daylight she woke me up that she was in A-fib for 1 hour. We went to urgent care and the doc confirmed the main cause for this A-fib episode was her stress and anxiety from this situation. He said there is a bad ulcer in her mouth and told us to go to Cox and tell him HE said to fix the problem NOW. Those were the doctor's words verbatim. We got home at 10:30 a.m. and expected Cox's office to have called about the appointment but nope. So I called and explained how mom's denture caused an ulcer and that Dr. G** was sending mom to them today to have the denture fixed. When we got there mom sweetly explained the entire situation to the receptionist who said she was putting the notes on mom's chart. Then mom sweetly explained it to the hygienist and asked for something to put on the sore like Orajel but the hygienist didn't acknowledge mom's request and showed NO empathy or compassion. When Cox came in, he first asked mom if she slept in the denture and mom said no, that she was trying to eat. He said, "You never want to sleep in them, make sure you take them out before bed." I confirmed to him "She takes them out before bed but she wasn't able to sleep last night at all. This happened when she was eating, she says she felt something sharp back there cutting her." He ignored me and started grinding the denture, telling mom there was nothing sharp on it, that maybe she had just felt a pinch, that he only sees a tiny sore, and talked about how all of this is perfectly normal anytime you get an adjustment. Completely dismissive. I told him we didn't understand why she needed an adjustment and how it brought on anxiety and trauma for her to the point she had a life-threatening emergency. As a healthcare provider he needed to know of her past trauma and how she had been scared to do this adjustment when Cox became furious at me and snapped "Do you think I just do this out of the kindness of my heart?" He defensively said he had nothing to do with her A-fib and took his mask down from his face, visibly very angry at me, berating me right over my mom's head as she laid there in pain and with a heart condition. He told me to "get out" and waved his arm. I said "She told me you guys have been nice to her and I appreciate that but I don't want her to come here anymore after all of this." And Cox said, "Neither do I" and he got up and totally left my mom laying down there helpless. Then the hygienist handed me the denture and I said "My mom is your patient and is your priority so you need to fix this (the denture)." She smirked and said with sarcasm, "We're done, bye" and she left too, and we could hear them down the hall laughing while we sat there in tears for this awful day. While I was in the bathroom, my mom found Cox and crew and they had the nerve to tell her they were offended by me and thought I was accusing them of causing her A-fib. She had to explain it all over again to them and then they acted happy and finished her denture. How dare they dispose of her like that and try to get sympathy from her that they were offended, instead of focusing on how to keep her safe and healthy.

I did ask before our appt, but when they filed our bill to our insurer, we owed over $300 for a basic exam and cleaning. We usually pay nothing and when I spoke to their rep, they said that are not a part of any network, so our share was over $300. Lesson learned on my part, but be careful if you have insurance and use their office in Hickory!
