While Paradise is being rebuilt, I've joined my husband to help with his work a few times. Out in the field, we only use these porta potties. I'm truly amazed at how sparkling clean and fresh smelling they are and how they put gas station bathrooms to shame! I read the stickers inside that show the last time they've been cleaned, and they are always recent. So they're never out of tp or antibacterial foam/soap. I truly appreciate this while people are working out in the field. I've seen the devastation in Paradise, and now beautiful homes are being built, and cute rabbits and squirrels running around. The people are always friendly too. And resilient, of course. Stay strong, Paradise! Back to Johnny on the Spot - simply the best porta potties out there!

John is the owner of this company. The first time we used his company they went above and beyond…read more In July we hired them again and it turned out to be the worst move of my life. I'm not new to moving. This was move number 26 for me. It took him, his friend with a bad ankle and a high school boy way longer than anticipated to load the trailers. John called other movers who freelance to come to our house to help. John said he was going to be at our house because he is responsible for the guys he hires to help him. Here are some of the highlights of what our household goods looked like when they arrived in Texas. We have some very expensive antique furniture that can't be replaced for any amount of money. The hutch made in 1841 was scratched, gouged and is missing a piece of hardware. It should have been carefully wrapped in moving blankets, but had no blankets when it arrived in Texas. Many pieces of furniture have scratches and gouges. One coat rack is completely broken in 2 places. An antique commode had the leg completely snapped off. This doesn't begin to describe the damage to our antique furniture. There were empty beer bottles shoved into one of my wardrobe boxes. If that's not disrespectful enough, there was a bottle with urine in the trailer! The guys had full access to the 3 bathrooms in our house. We made sure the guys had water, sodas, Gatorade and tea to drink. We bought them lunch every day. We didn't feed them pizza because I know movers get tired of pizza. Then they disrespect us by drinking beer and shoving the bottles in with my clothes and not loading the truck carefully so our stuff wouldn't get damaged. One of the guys John hired even commented that we must have "deep pockets" to afford all of the stuff we have. Not exactly professional people!! You as the consumer can make your own decisions. If you want your furniture scratched, gouged and missing pieces then you should probably hire this company. If not, hire someone that's more professional.

I recently retired and moved from the Sacramento area to Chico and thought it would be more…read moreefficient to move myself with rented trucks and movers in both locations. How wrong I was. I had driven my rental truck to Chico and waited for the two movers I had hired off of the U-Haul website. In our phone conversation I was assured stairs and heavy objects, including pianos, were not an issue. When I met them, I had great hesitation as to their ability to lift, carry, and move heavy boxes and furniture. The two movers had problems moving simple items out of the truck and took numerous breaks. My teen grandson and I had to start moving boxes and items just to get the truck unpacked. To make matters worse, the furniture dolly holding my very heavy and antique upright piano had broken during transit. Moving it was tremendously difficult and when the movers begin to tell me they could move the piano down the ramp, in spite of the broken dolly, I became very upset and had no faith in their abilities. I quickly Googled movers and Sorenson Moving and Storage came up. I called and asked if anyone could come right away to help and direct the move of my piano and was referred to Rick's son, Richard. I was very upset and I'm sure he could sense my anxiety over the phone and assured me he would have help there immediately. I told the movers not touch the piano until help arrived. True to his word, he arrived with another gentleman, and basically transferred the piano to another furniture dolly. The two of them, with minimal assistance from my hired movers, moved the piano off the trunk, inside my new home, did most of the work to transfer it off the dolly and got it placed where I wanted it. Without this help, I know my piano would have been destroyed. I am so grateful for the help, assistance and expertise these two men brought to my move in spite of the hired movers. I know I have one more move in the future and when that time comes, I will call Sorenson's again, this time to take care of my entire move!

In preparation for an out-of-state move, we contacted several well reviewed businesses here in…read moreChico and asked for quotes. Three of the four did come to our location and were to provide a quote. We did ask for three-four quotes due to the complexities of our move, thank you Covid, and gave everyone the opportunity to put on their thinking caps and come up with figures that made sense and wouldn't put us into one of the cardboard boxes we were moving our things with. Rich Sorenson called prior to our appointment to get a sense of the dates we were thinking about and to be the first on the planet of cell phones to ask where we were located. That never can be a good sign when you're getting ready to hire a moving company, amirite? He showed up without a mask (smack in the middle of Covid). We gave him one of our prepackaged spares since we're a first responder family. He claims he must have left it on the ground at the gas station. Nice. Asked a lot of questions. Took measurements. Seemed checked out (this isn't our first rodeo when it comes to getting estimates and moving). And then crickets. No email. No quote. No phone call. And yes, we did check our spam. Unless he was emailing in broken English from Nigeria, nothing in the spam box was from Sorenson's. I did read another review that spoke of the same net result. I feel bad for the employees who are missing out on work because their estimator is slacking off. But I can't be bothered with making a follow-up call to light a fire under the owner's son's butt when I found some phenomenal out of state movers here locally that were johnny-on-the-spot with their estimates. If you're like us and looking to move out of this godforsaken place, you might want to check out the smaller guys who are working hard to make a name for themselves.

When I took the trailer and AC unit to their shop I asked about replacing a dead exterior USB port as well and they said no problem.
