I debated on writing this review until I looked at myself in the mirror for the third day after my haircut. I also rarely write reviews, whether it be an exceptional experience or an atrocious one. I would say I've been to around 5 or 6 barbershops in the past 10 years, between traveling back and forth between school and home. Let me tell you, and WARN you, this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a barber. I believe I am a relatively fair and outgoing person, but this experience was atrocious. I will go over some of the positive aspects of the experience, which are few. The decor inside the shop is pleasant and unique, which I really enjoyed looking at while waiting. The wait for the cut was very quick as well. Parking was relatively easy, with private parking behind the shop. That concludes the positive aspects of the shop. Now, the negative aspects. If I could give this experience a 0 star, I would, as cliché as that statement sounds. To start, the barber had spent around 25 minutes on the client's hair before me. I thought, "Wow, this barber must be the real deal, taking their time, making sure to get the perfect cut." Boy... was I wrong. They had spent MAYBE 10 minutes on my hair (a very generous estimate). I showed them a picture prior of what I wanted and it wasn't even CLOSE to what I had requested. By no means is the haircut I requested a simple one, but capable of being done by a certified barber. I would have rather not gotten my haircut at all. I always like to wear my hair long on top, stating to her, "I like to do a low bald fade, then take a LITTLE bit off the top, so I can style it." I showed her a picture of what I wanted and it was not even CLOSE to what I requested! I generally show the barber a picture of what I like, and I understand they can't get it exactly like the picture, I get that. I have not a clue what she was thinking. She took off maybe an inch and a half off the top and didn't even fade the sides and back. Also, she was not a very pleasant person to speak to. I generally like to have some conversation and small talk with the barber, some back story on how they became a barber and what not. Side-note: I am surprised this barber is even certified. She was very short with me and seemed almost annoyed by my presence. As I'm staring at myself in the mirror at the end of my cut, I think to myself, "What did she do to my hair..." Not a "Thank you!" Or "come in again!" Nothing when I left. I understand people have bad days, but there is zero reason to treat the client like that. To conclude, I can congratulate this barber on giving me the FIRST EVER hat-worthy haircut in my life. So I'll be wearing a hat for the next 6 weeks! I would post a picture of my hair, but I'd rather not be embarrassed for the rest of my life. Save yourself that embarrassment and DO NOT go to this barbershop.
