    First let me say this is the most reasonable stables for trail riding in the area! That gets a 5…read morestar! The workers are all very nice and helpful and that's 5 star too! However you are wondering why 3 stars? My husband and I are intermediate riders and are used to certain rules. These include but are not limited to: helmets, trail leaders (bosses) take the lead, horses know exactly where to step and whom to follow, weight limits, etc. While not wearing a helmet was refreshing as a seasoned rider, usually there are helmets available and required (absolutely needed for a newbie). Maybe Covid is why but I don't think so. The trail boss was young and didn't have much control over the animals. My husband's horse was beautiful and we found out he may be a foundational horse, however he liked running people into the trees. My husband is a strapping 6'7" and despite tugging him to stop, he kept it up! The reins are really short and that seemed to be a problem for both horses. Only my saddle had a horn to hold on to. That would definitely be an issue for a new rider! I would suggest longer reins when trail riding and the shorter when teaching or pony riding. We really enjoyed our ride even if it was only in a large circle, again and again. Still great for the money and experienced riders but not nubes.
