He was a PHENOMENAL guide! He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and just straight up, cool as hell. From the first few minutes he had us on fish. He also had us bring our EURO rod so we could learn to use it and fish some faster sections using it. He taught us so much about the Euro rod and techniques to use with it. My girlfriend caught the biggest German Brown of her life! I know for a fact he used his own personal flies even though we got 24 flies included with the trip. Really appreciate him. The one drawback of the trip was they forgot to pack the meat for our sandwiches! Fortunately chase brought a ton of pasta and was kind enough to share it with us! Would never book anywhere else other than Three Rivers if i return to Idaho for another run on the snake. Will double check for the meat next time though!

My brother in law (thanks Tate!) took me for the day to float the river and learn to fly fish. Upon our arrival we met with guide Chad who gave me a quick lesson on the lawn out front of the fishing shop. This 10 minute lesson was so effective that it set the tone for the rest of the day. The fishing shop is beautiful with couches, a fireplace... and more flies (artificial fishing flies) than your local dump. I purchased my fishing license and we were off. Chad ( and as I can assume all of the guides ) made me feel like a pro even though it was my first time out on the river. We got a TON of bites and it was clear that this ranch is located in the heart of trout country. It is important to note that I was there as a family friend for the day, and did not experience the full overnight cabin experience.... and I am truly sad I didn't get to see this ranch's full potential. The cabins were beautiful and surrounded a common clubhouse with a full kitchen (and chefs of course) full bar, old style piano, and the feeling of good 'ol fun. I can imagine how relaxing it would be to come back from a full day of fishing to have a nice dinner and a drink while relaxing in the clubhouse. A night of quiet cabin sleep, and then back on the river with a guide the next morning. A MUST for any fisherman (or woman) in the area. Make the trip, stay the night and prepare to mount up some amazing memories.

We had two guides on a four day fishing tour and each day was a different experience. We were pairs with a new guide every day and they all really knew their stuff. The area, weather wise made each day different but each guide made the best of it. I would say, overall the pro shop was well kept and clean and full of different items for purchase but getting down to the nitty gritty for fishing, exploring the areas best spots and each guide knowing their way around the area and really giving us the gold standard for treatment, I really felt it was a place I would want to return time and time again. Even if you just want to get a1-2 or4-5 day trip in, you can't beat Henry's Fork Anglers guided tour.

Even with wild winds, we were able to get close to big fish and see a lot of action because our guide knew what he was doing. The first question he asked us was how long we had been fly fishing and what we wanted to do. Then he delivered. He was very enthusiastic and knew how to fish in the conditions that we were dealt. I have been fly fishing for 20 years. With what I learned from Pierce, the next day on the ranch I was able to get seven (7) large fish in one hour. That is the best I have ever done on Herriman Ranch. Next year when we come back, I will ask for Pierce. The attached photo is one that I took of my fishing partner and Pierce. The young fellow behind the counter was the least helpful soul I have ever encountered in a fly shop after several decades fishing. I mean that's why you go to a fly shop right? Get advice and buy flies. He wouldn't leave his chair in spite of about three requests to come over and show us what he'd recommend. We did get there about 15 minutes before close and he was counting the till but we were willing to, and did stand by while that got done. Get your advice and buy your flies somewhere else. Lastly, the chironomid patterns we bought fell apart way too soon. Poor quality flies.

Both my wife and I are extreme novices when it comes to fly fishing and Marcelo was a great teacher and very patient with us both as we fished all day. He guided us to great parts of the river where we were able to get into what seemed like constant fish. One of the guides was struggling with the horse he was on. It was doing circles while he was on the highway waiting for others to cross. Once everyone had crossed and he was on the dirt, he proceeded to hit his horse several times in the neck, which appeared to be with a lot of force. We were appalled and this type of abuse to this horse should never happen. I suggest you terminate this employee or take any necessary action. What we witnessed was awful and I hope this isn't typical of the way your Ranch treats these beautiful animals.

We had 5 little girls on the trail ride trying to impress our guide, Tukker with "dad jokes" lol and he was great with everyone. The girls also loved learning how to "rope a steer" (on a log with horns) and the young man who showed them how was the grandson of the owner! So fun - don't miss this family friendly event.
