While the shop might not be the fanciest place to wait, they do have chairs, complimentary water, and a TV to keep you entertained. What truly makes this place shine is the incredible service and honesty of J and his team. From the moment I arrived, Jonathan greeted me warmly and made me feel confident that my vehicle was in good hands. He and his team are not only knowledgeable but also friendly and hospitable. They worked on several major issues with my truck and took the time to explain every detail along the way. Here's a quick breakdown of what was done: He replaced the rear brakes, rotors, brake hoses, and calipers. I had initially requested a brake fluid flush and fill, and to have my rear brakes and rotors changed, but the rear brakes weren't purging fluid. J and his team quickly got to work troubleshooting, inspecting the brake hoses, and discovering that they were clogged and that the caliper was seized. He sourced the parts and fixed the issue, all while showing me everything step by step to ensure I understood the problem and knew he wasn't making it up or anything like that. (He literally showed it to me) He also flushed and filled the fluids in both the front/rear differentials/transfer case. The engine coolant was flushed and replaced, and he even changed the spark plugs, showing me the worn condition of the old ones. He checked all the hoses and clips to ensure nothing else needed to be replaced and changed the serpentine belt, which was long overdue. Jonathan also took extra time to address the growing rust issue underneath my truck, showing me how bad it was and explaining a plan of action we could take to treat it and prevent further corrosion in the future, should I opt to bring it back to him. (I'm definitely going to come back for this) I was especially impressed with how honest and upfront he was about every repair. He explained everything clearly, showed me the worn-out parts, and never once tried to upsell me or cut corners. His prices are incredibly fair, and the quality of work is top-notch. Overall, Jonathan and his team provided excellent service in a timely manner, and I really appreciated his dedication to getting my truck maintenance up to date and ensuring it's safe for the road. The fact that he accepts all forms of payment.... Debit Card/Credit Card/Cash/Zelle was just an added convenience. If you're looking for an honest, skilled, and friendly mechanic who goes above and beyond, I highly recommend Jonathan and his shop. They are a full service shop that does engines, transmissions, well pretty much everything. It's hard to find such integrity and expertise these days, but you'll definitely find it here!

You know that feeling when your cars about to take a poop or you fear the worst- I call him up right away or message and he'll get back to me as soon as he can to give me his professional opinion without seeing the car. The fact that there's someone I can lean to for answers in a hurry and not feel like I'm getting the short end, makes it worth it. Sure I've went to other places that were more convenient and reputable, but always end up leaving unsatisfied and poor I've also been to the shop stressed out about how much a fix could cost where he tells me honestly that I don't need to do it right now instead of fixing something that ain't broke. I've taken my laptop and worked in his waiting room, watched Netflix shows and even been educated on fixes. So don't regret going to the other guys when you can give his shop a try.

I brought my 1969 AMX to Classic Car Factory for a repaint and a few relatively minor items:…read morechecking the charging system, a tune-up, replacing the water pump, adding wheel spacers, and later replacing the wiper motor. I was quoted a 30-day timeline and I was provided an estimated cost & a maximum cost. Instead, the car was kept for 8 months and the final cost ballooned to 3 times the quoted maximum. Because the car was fully disassembled for paint, I had little ability to stop the project once it was underway. The results were extremely disappointing. The car was returned with scratches and damage to more than 30 areas of what should have been a high-quality paint job and mechanically, the car was in worse condition than when I brought it in. Parts were lost, including rare and difficult-to-replace trim pieces such as the rear window stainless transition trim and a trunk lid. The windshield and rear windows apparently were unprotected when removed and were reinstalled with deep scratches in them.(They claim that the scratches were in the windows when the car was brought in despite pictures proving the contrary). During repairs, additional damage was caused: the timing chain cover was cracked during the water pump replacement, the wiper motor bushing was destroyed and they could not find a replacement so the replacement motor could not be installed, and two sets of stainless steel drip rail moldings (approximately $1,000 each) were damaged and never reinstalled. The hood latch was painted so thickly it was not operational. Literally none of the requested repairs were successfully completed. After 2 months of back and forth after retrieving the car, they fixed the paint problems - I was unwilling to have them attempt to do any more mechanical work but I did expect them to replace the parts they lost or damaged. They have not. This experience fell far short in terms of workmanship, care, timeline, and cost control. They advertise the lowest hourly rate for mechanics - they should hire one. Their slogan "We can do that" should be adjusted "We can do that but not well". I cannot recommend this shop based on my experience.

They kept me in the loop the whole time, explained things in a way that actually made sense, and did exactly what they said they would. No runaround, no surprises--just honest work and solid communication. You can tell they genuinely care about the cars they work on and the people they're working with. That's not something you see everywhere anymore. Overall, I'm very happy with how everything turned out and wouldn't hesitate to go back or recommend them to someone else.

I've used Bill White's C.A.R. Hospital several times this summer. My car is fun to drive, but at 15 years old, it always needs something. My greatest concern is an unanticipated breakdown, and that's exactly what happened the first time I visited the C.A.R. Hospital. Usually, there's a clear view from the shop area to the waiting area/service desk--where I anxiously crane my neck to see where my car sits in the line of work. Usually, the waiting area is cramped and unclean, a place for stale coffee and man-picked TV. Usually, I find myself on the receiving end of vague terms with hens-and-haws, until I prove my cursory understanding of a fuel combustion engine and the ABS system. Here's what it's like at Bill White's: complementary beverages if you need to wait; free local pick-up and drop-off when requested; always friendly and polite service counter assistance by Rachel, Joy, and Bill; absolutely clear communication about diagnosis of problem and solution to problem, clear communication about the reasonable price of service or repair, and clear communication about exactly when work will be completed; lastly, there's a thank you card or coupon in the mail--real savings, not just some stupid systems-check, on something a car really needs. Did I mention that I'm an uptight freak about car repair?! If Bill White's C.A.R. Hospital can make a vehicle repair neurotic like me happy, I'm certain everyone should choose this business.

Used to be a Good Service Shop... Now is a $$ shop. Sorry folks but the reason oil drain plugs get…read more"worn out" or "stripped" is two things 1) overtightening from a tech in a hurry or doesn't care 2) cross threading the plug. If properly trained technicians use appropriate tools and sense the drain plug will be fine for life of car. Also, not too long back I was told the front control arm bushings needed to be replaced. This is accurate and a good thing to do. But, I was then told they would need to replace the whole front control arm assembly to do this, and the cost around 900 dollars. Again $$ not service. Front bushings can be replaced easily and cost is around 20 dollars each side. Considering 1 hour labor and costs should be approxiamately 100 dollars total. Would have been willing to pay for that honest service... No need to change out the full front control arms. So... this WAS one of the last strongholds to get honest service. New management with new plans...unfortunate. I am sad to see them go down the drain as with so many other places seeking $$'s rather than to provide honest service. People will pay for service if you don't try to pull the wool over their eyes. Especially when you are trying to do this with someone that knows as much as you do about cars. Heck I LOVE supporting my local business people, and am one myself. Very unfortunate. I usually give a few more times to see if maybe just a bad day for the shop... tried this... But this is seeming to be a norm for this shop now too... Off to shopping again for a trustworthy shop. Good luck folks. I will add that after having to make a phone call and discussion... no agreement. Apparently oil drain plugs wear out between 50 to 100 thousand miles....I disagree...as do many of my other fellow full time mechanics... they DID NOT charge my son for the drain plug. Still the bad news is I will probably now have to change the oil pan in my garage at home.

I suggest no one use them ever, as they are fraudulent, they are liars and I am out the money because the Visa company took their word for it and like an idiot I didn't look up Yelp to see that this is not the first time they've done this nor will it be the last. So unless you want to be charged double or triple for what you're quoted as a firm price I would stay away from this company there absolutely committing fraud. The next day, we were told there was nothing mechanically wrong with her vehicle and we could come pick it up. When we got there on Monday afternoon, we were greeted with a $400 bill - $170 to tow it less than one mile, $130 in storage fees and $100 for labor and administration fees. $400 for them to tow a driveable car one mile, let it sit in a garage bay overnight and to look at it and tell us it was ok to drive. When we questioned the charges, they told us the HPD sets the fees. When I called the HPD, they could not give me any information stating fees for towing or storage. I would highly recommend you look for another towing company, not have mechanical work or any body work done by a business owned by Jim Olson in Harvard or Woodstock IL. Very crooked business practices.
