Had a really great time on a Friday. Music was good and the food was tasty after I built up an appetite. I could give it 5 stars if they served alcohol lol. Overall the staff are friendly and it's definitely a good time.

Went in on a Wednesday night. . So much fun. Wednesday night is for adults only and it was a real experience. It's like all the skating scenes from that movie ATL. If you know the movie then you know what I'm talking about, if not then this probably isn't the place for you anyway. Good vibes all around but keep one eye open.

Day 1 of derby training: Can I Skate? Do you know how much I've missed roller skating? Like the deserts miss the rain. Holy Solomon. Putting on those wheels for the first time in 20 or so years felt awkward, unnatural, and euphoric. I attempted the backwards-skate roller disco move...didn't fall. Courage meter = 5 I went as fast as possible around the inside track, placing one skate in front of the other, ducking and leaning into the turn...didn't fall. Courage meter = 7 I mixed up my routine with forward and backward skating, interchanging them to the beat of Lil Wayne's "Ms Officer"...didn't fall Courage meter = 9 I'm doing the "cool" bounce to the music, bobbing my head, as I signal to my friend, "watch this." I gain speed. Jump. Knees hit my chest. Both skates hit the floor. So does my butt. And so does my courage. Courage meter's back at zero, but it's all good, I'm just ecstatic the roller skating rinks of my youth are still out there. And for $8, you can't match this kind of fun.

They do not enforce wearing mask. I had to leave early because I felt uncomfortable and unsafe while trying to skate happily.

Prices are reasonable and admission is not timed so you can skate all day if you want. The rink is pretty small and gets very crowded on weekends, mostly with people who are brand new to skating. They do have devices for young children to use to help them balance, but expect a lot of slow moving people trying to catch their balance. There is also a heated tent with tables, a snack bar and an arcade if you need a break from skating. The Christmas music and fire pits are also a nice touch.

The public skating session at 8p was pretty much empty, besides two other families, so it gave me an opportunity to move around and practice on the ice. My boyfriend liked that it was quiet because he doesn't really like when places are too crowded. The staff were super friendly and allowed us to go on the ice a bit earlier than the scheduled skating time. The rink was super smooth, almost slippery at some points, so I had to skate around a little bit before practicing some different moves. After everyone skated around a few times and marked up the ice it was much easier to skate. The only thing I would change is the prices, since I had my own skates it was only $10 for me, but for my boyfriend to skate and rent ice skates, it was $13 total, which I think is a bit pricey. At the rink I usually go to, you can skate for $8 and skate with rentals for $10.

Common areas are relatively clean except for the restroom which was dirty. Parking can also be challenging here. This is also one of the coldest rinks in the Philadelphia tri-state area so if you like to stand at the boards and watch, bring your cold weather gear.

I used to frequent this place a decade ago. I went here last evening for their 2024 December…read moreholiday setup and it was not good. The decor is pretty so you can take strategic photos to give the impression of a good time but it basically has an ice skating rink, dusty arcade, concession stands with generic carnival/fair food, a merry go round (pretty to look at but I could have a better time doing jug handles in Nj), fire pit seating (one open seating and the other reserved), and there's a $20 charge to park. Now I came here on a Wednesday night. The place was practically empty. The security scanned my friend, nephew, and me. However, my nephew's gf was not scanned bc the security guard says she looks safe/fine (she's a different ethnicity and I'll leave it at that). When we walked into the empty reserved fire pit section a security guard came over to redirect us bc this was the "paid/voucher" section. Now, we didn't even sit down and I was trying to ask him what else can we do here etc. he couldn't even focused on my questions just tunnel vision about having us go over to the free fire pit section. Like sir chill out all we we were trying to do is understand the area and how to navigate it. So we walk over to the free fire pit section the ambers from the pit blow in the wind and that's scary but we say there for maybe 5 mins bc again this place looks better than it actually is. We walked through the lack luster concession stand area to the arcade. My friend played guitar hero and one of the buttons didn't work so that's a fail plus he's a hard core guitar hero fan. We exited the arcade to go to the Ferris Wheel that no one was on. It's pretty. The security guards near that were actually nice and kind. We didn't ride it. I think that's a level of insanity I haven't reached to be the only ones on a giant rotating circle in the freezing cold. Now if I wanted a great photo mayhaps.... Then we paused realizing like a bug at a bug light in the summer this was a bad idea so we left. If you have tiny children under 11 they might enjoy the lights. If you're an influencer great place for holiday themed photos. If you're trying to show people new to Philly a good time..... then it's a no. It seems to be some construction too. The occupant space is small. I will say other summer or other festival types might be better. This Christmas holiday winter city thing is a hard pass. :( not happy
