Bark Avenue Pet Spa - Upset dog. Shaved to the skin by Bark soa ( Orleans/Ottawa) without owner consent or knowledge

My dog is very upset as well…read more There is a reason that this company gives a rebate for new customers and that their availability is wide open. I am very upset with the result and will never go back there again. There was no regard for my preferences or wishes. I specifically asked the groomer, Chrystal, tto cut just half an inch on her back, tail and ears, and she agreed to my request. My dog is a havanese double coated dog. When I picked up my dog she was hidden from me and the receptionist insisted that I pay prior to seeing her. My dog was then presented to me totally shaved, almost to the bare skin, and with nicks on both her ears and on her back. I was shocked and appalled to see when my dog was shaved without my consent, awareness or prior discussion of even the possibility of the dog being shaved (to the skin) for any reason. If this was divulged or discussed with me prior to leaving the dog with this establishment (Bark Avenue Pet Spa) I would have just left with my dog. The groomer did a terrible job and I am extremely upset as this was the opposite of what I requested. The groomer shaved my dog to the skin without my knowledge or consent, and shaving a double-coated breed can really ruin the coat. I am extremely upset. Research other groomers, I regret using this place. If you decide to take a chance with them at least insist to get and obtain your dog in your possession before you pay.

They let me book an appointment for her and they let me go back and sit with her while it's getting done. They are all so kind and sweet to my Tobey. Today Tobey was so comfortable she almost fell asleep while her nails were getting trimmed. SO grateful to the staff who are so helpful, understanding and making a difficult thing much easier. Thanks so much, Kris

I will never step foot in a Global Pets store again…read more I have been going to Global Pets for many, many years and have never returned any food there. My dog is now elderly, 15 years old and is having stomach problems. Recently I had to throw out a big bag of dog food (approx $89 plus tax = $100) because she had diahhea for three weeks. I told my story to the sales associate at Global Pets and she told me that I could have returned it as long as it was within 30 days of the point of sale. So based on her reccomendation I bought a simple diet dog food and bought a very small bag of food since I did not want to waste a giant bag of food, if it did not work out. Unfortunately, my dog got diahhera within a couple of days of transitioning/switching to this formula. I went back to return the food and they would not return it because the bag was half full. My dog is a large dog and so of course a 4-lb. bag would not be full after a couple of days of feeding. I could have bought a large bag for $100 and returned it because she would not have gone through much of the bag in 2 days. There would be 99% of the bag left. I was told that I could return the food within 30 days, but not that it had to be 75% full. I think that it was rather inflexible of the manager to not accept the return despite their policy. I was not initiallty told that it had to be 75% full. I would not even bothered, if I had known. So instead of honouring what the sales associate had told me, they lost a customer for life. Very good business practices! We have bought the largest bag of food every 3 weeks for years, not to mention treats, collars and other accessories. I just think that they should have accepted the return. It's the principle of the thing. I had already thrown out a $100 bag of food without thinking that I could return it. So to just give me $20 for the small bag would have been a very small price to pay to keep a loyal customer. They did not even bother to look up my file to see that I have indeed never returned food in all the years we have been shopping there. They knew I was not happy with this and yet they did not care. A policy is a policy I guess. They lost thousands of dollars over it. Sent from my iPad
