On the day of my appointment I started reading the reviews on Yelp and got a bit nervous. It has been years since I had a major service like the one I wanted on my hair and Monica has been extremely nice to me over message but I did not let it stop me and I'm glad I didn't. Monica exceeded my expectations. I had been dying my hair box black for years and wanted a change. I sent Monica pictures and she got me to where I wanted to get. All of the other employees were nice and welcoming and making sure I was comfortable being that my service took 5 hours but I didn't feel the time. I will definitely continue going to Monica for my hair needs. I had gone through a lot of different colors, I had box dyed my hair black and then red and then I tried to go blonde and I just looked awful. When I went to Millennial beauty salon I knew I would never let another soul touch my hair again, I regained my confidence, I had also never been complimented on my hair that much. I read a few of these reviews and honestly they are quite R I D I C U L O U S!!! My first priority at a beauty salon is not to become best friends with the hair stylist. My gosh people, do they really have to be a chatter box the entire time you're there and explain every single thing they are doing??? I have been to this beauty salon three times. Twice to do my hair and my youngest daughters for her Quinces last year in March (2021) and once for her to get a trim. All three times, I have felt comfortable and the vibe has been very pleasant. Never felt any rudeness. When I did my hair Dani was the one who took over for Steph and they would consult with each other in private and I did not think anything of it. These ladies are magicians and in the 35 years I've been doing crazy stuff to my hair, this is the VERY first time I honestly LOVED how my hair turned out. It was the blondest I have ever been but I am open minded and like drastic changes. My daughter's hair came out gorgeous too. Her hair dresser was Dani and Steph was the one who gave her the trim on that occasion. Beautiful cut. About the price, given the length of our hair and the length of time it took to color correct and "work their magic" I don't think it's too much. It's the average price. Try going to a salon elsewhere in a ritzy part of town and you'll pay three times what they charge here and probably won't look as good. I also wanted to mention Ylaira who cut my daughter's hair this past June. My daughter gets anxious about her hair because she's had some bad experiences. But Ylaira did such an amazing job. I can't rave enough about the ladies who work in this beauty salon. They are the real deal!!! If you are a problematic person, please go elsewhere and don't tarnish someone's reputation because of your insecurities. It's just dumb. Before I finish this review I must add that it's been 19 months since we bleached our hair and usually by now, my hair would've turned an ugly orangey color and my daughters too since we both have naturally dark brown hair BUT that hasn't happened. I have wanted to go back to my natural dark hair and so I have let it grow out and my ends are still a beautiful ashy blonde. I only used "special" shampoo a few times at the very beginning and my daughter too. We usually just use regular shampoo so this is proof that they are THE VERY BEST!!! Found Steph on Instagram and liked the hair so decided to go there. It was my first time dying my hair and wanted to go from brown to blonde. I brought inspo pics but wasn't really sure about all the hair terms so when they asked if I wanted lowlights or highlights I had no idea and they didn't really explain them to me. She ended up doing my hair exactly how I pictured it in my head though so it was great. I was happy with the results. The vibes were not great though. Her and her staff didn't really speak to me and I'm quiet so I actually prefer it that way but since it was my first time dying my hair I expected some kind of explanation of what they were doing. Also just looked like they all had an rbf which I get but as a store owner/employee I would imagine you want to come off nice and pleasant to customers but I guess not. I still ended up booking with her a second time when my hair grew out since I did like the end result of my hair and I can deal with a weird environment for a few hours. Went back in that second time and I explained I wanted my hair to look the same exact way it was so basically just fixing up top. No idea what was done but it looked very different from the first time. Also, the person who answers her texts for her told me a certain price after I told her what I wanted and it ended up being a lot more than that once I checked out. I would think that the lady answering the texts would check with the stylist first before telling a client a price but at the very least the stylist should let the client know ahead of time that the price is actually different from what the girl said in the texts. Take your money elsewhere. Also, I had seen all these bad reviews before booking with her but I also followed her on Instagram and on there she always seems super happy and peppy so I figured that the reviews were just not accurate. Hey All, Just wanted to start off by pointing out that this place is very unprofessional. First, they are very quick to advise that they will charge a late fee of $35 if you are 7 minutes late. I arrived to my appointment on time, and they had ME wait because the hairstylist I booked was busy with her appointment that she had just booked that morning (The reason I know this is because they offered me an option to come earlier due a cancelation but them retracted the offer since they filled the spot!) Finally, My stylist ("Steph") sent her assistant to look at my hair and ask me what I was looking to do. I showed her some pictures and my hair etc. (not sure what her name was even, but seemed nice. (Still no idea who I was dealing with which sucks and left me with a sense of lost hope!) The assistant then walked over to the stylist 5 feet away (whom still had not greeted me and had me wait) and they exchanged a conversation whispering...(awkward and rude?) At this point, Im already irritated. The assistant walks over to me and says "that though its not what I was told when I booked" they would need to do a strand test (an extra $75) and then see if they can do what I was requesting. I guess the whole purpose of request fotos and 2 years of hair history was not enough for them to advise prior to booking that a strand test would be necessary (I think not!). So not only did they make me wait, they didnt properly greet me, I was never greeted by the so called Stylist, not by the person who booked me by phone and took my $50 deposit, but now that Im being quoted something else, I lose my deposit!! Wow lol just wow. Feel badly for them so let them keep the $50. There are literally SO MANY wonderful hairstylists in Miami. So not concerned in finding one that can do my hair and treat their customers professionally and be courteous. Gross! Its the principal guys... Dont go here! LOL!! PS - Dont be so full of yourself just because you got lucky and landed a few clients and think you will be set because you are selling Monat hair products (a pyramid scheme lmao). Don't lose your sense of humbleness sis! You ain't all that! I don't know, it could be that I've been working in Real Estate and Hospitality for over 15 yrs. When I first arrived my stylist (Steph) barely even spoke to me, she pointed me to a couch to sit and said they'll come get you. Her assistant came by and did the consult, again my stylist didn't acknowledge me. Finally when she came by my chair she was no friendly or nice with me. I have never met her before, but figured it took her a while to warm up to people. I tried to strike up a conversation, but again it was shot down. I didn't want or needed her to be my best friend, but at least be polite and somewhat friendly. I went in the salon to get a balayage touch up, and ended up leaving with a "color correction" that was not needed. They charge you fees on top of fees and are not upfront about it the first place. It's not about the money, but about the principle. I felt that they took advantage of my situation to make extra cash. The worst part about it all is that my hair ended up so damaged/ burnt after the service. I literally saw my HAIR BREAK before my eyes as it was being blow dried. The stylist even tried to cover it up, by putting product on my hair to smooth out the broken hairs. I was so unhappy and disappointed I could have cried, and to add insult to injury my bill came out to be $500!!!! At this point all I wanted was to leave and, paid my bill and got out of there as soon as I could, and vowed never to return. Since then I have been cutting my hair to get rid of any trace of the over-processing mess that Steph did. I want to be clear, I never asked to go lighter, or have any process done that would damage my hair. This was 100% on the colorist, she should have mentioned that this would damage/ burn my hair, but wanted to get PAID so she didn't say anything. Save your money and time, do your research ladies. This is not a top salon in Miami, and I wouldn't recommend it al all. Terrible customer service, and terrible work. read more

And I went back this year because I was tired of the blond and wanted to go brown for my birthday, I got my hair done and after washing my hair once it was back to blond. I paid over 600 for it. First time walking into a salon where everyone stares at you the moment you walk in like if you're some kind of alien. Literally, everyone stared at me and no one even said hi or smiled. A minute later, someone walks up to me and asks for my name and who I have my appt with. I said Steph and then noticed she was doing someone else's hair and she just stared at me. I arrived on time and waited a good 10 min before her assistant told me to go to the bathroom to get a robe. Steph later came up to me to ask exactly what I was looking for. She got the colors and her assistant was the one who did all the work (simple dye). After the dye was in my hair, I was told to sit in the chair to let the dye sit in. A couple minutes later they told me to put a 30 min timer on my phone. Almost 50 min later was when they finally washed the dye out. The only time Steph did anything to my hair was when it was time for a cut. Oh and that's another thing. When I was texting Steph for a consultation, she told me a hair cut would be $35. So when the assistant asked if I was going to blow dry, I asked her how much would it be. She didn't know. She had to ask someone else. So she then tells me, well the cut and blow dry is $85. I was like .. Steph told me the cut was $35, how much is the blow dry? She then tells me the blow dry is $35 but if I wanted both, it would be $85 .... I'm not sure where she learned math but I've never paid $85 for a simple cut and dry. This isn't Coral Gables. I did like how my color came out since it wasn't a single color but more of a mix, but I definitely think the customer service and pricing should improve, therefore rating them 3 stars. I appreciated how a pre-evaluation was done by the junior stylist and how Steph cared about my hair! Not only do they prep you for what to expect but she gives you full direction for at home care ! I have been coming to Millennial Beauty Salon since they first opened in Kendall and from the beginning of my journey to present day they never disappoint. I went through quite a couple hairdressers trying to find that one place I could trust with my hair eyes closed and when I came across Steph and her team I finally found them. I have been white bleach blonde, copper, burgundy red & back to blonde and my hair has never been compromised. Steph the owner is very knowledgeable about the process of using bleach and mixing colors and shares her knowledge with her team. At any chance I get I am always recommending her to family and friends because of the amount of trust that I have in her. Not to mention Steph and her team are all so welcoming and humble and being in the salon with all of them gives you a sense of security. Let me start off by saying I really didn't want to have to leave a review , I always try giving this business the benefit of the doubt.... but it's gotten to the point where I'm in complete shock and disbelief... so where do I begin? I spoke to the person who makes the appts and I let her know I wasn't happy with how she handles scheduling appts. I'm constantly having to reach out to this salon 24/7 to try to schedule anything, & I'm not that type of person to have to spam someone a million times before a service or for even TRYING to make an appt. She told me she was sorry yet it continues to happen, I'm constantly having to follow up with them because no one ever cares to respond to you. That didn't even bother me as much because I was sorta used to it at that point... it just made me not want to do business with them. A day or two go by and someone FINALLY responds back to me and tells me Stephanie can see me at 1:30pm on a Saturday. At this point I gave them yet again another opportunity to make it up to me so I agreed to go. Saturday comes along and Stephanie texts me maybe 40 minutes before my appt asking me if I can come an hour after 1:30 because she was running behind. I know the salon could get hectic so I wouldn't have minded, expect that I couldn't be there at 2:30 because I had an event to be at at around 3pm. I texted her back letting her know I couldn't make it at that time and if I could still go at 1:30... ofc.. NO ANSWER. I had to know this because I live about 20-25 min away from her.. the LEAST she could do was simply be attentive to her phone & say yes or no (especially considering the fact that she's the one who was behind?) surprise surprise NO answer yet again... I wrote back again asking her if I could reschedule and again NO ANSWER. At this point I'm soooo over it and I laugh at how easy it is to simply respond for the sake of a bad reputation.. she finally responds at night HOURS later telling me she can see me during the week. I proceed to tell I could only on Monday and then responds A DAY LATER saying she can't see me on Monday's only her assistants can.. she didn't even care or tried to make up for her un-professionalism . Also, Funny because I dont think I'd go to these lengths to see her assistant... I understand what it's like working at a salon but it's her job to be on top of messages especially if it's her own fault that she's running behind. I literally pushed all my plans for this appt and she disregarded it without a single THOUGHT of how that might affect a client. I'm in utter disbelief. I'm not upset, I'm just over it. I sent her a message letting her know my thoughts and I wished her luck with her business. Guess what, she read my message and didn't even respond!! HA disbelief is an understatement.
