They even have a hair dresser to cut his hair on site The staff is excellent. They all go above and beyond. My favorite part is the activities. Each day they have a schedule. At first my father stayed in his room and did not participate. However the folks kept trying and coaxed him out. He participates in the activities. Singing, games of all sorts He has fun. I find myself staying and participating in the activities. They have had an antique car show, a BarB Q. They even take them out for lunch and to out side activities.I would highly recommend this facility.

From the employees to the residents, everyone was so warm and inviting. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! There was a band and several speakers uplifting all the veterans there, it was a very heartfelt, happy time for everyone. By the time I left it felt like I had gained a few new friends for sure! The next morning, I received a phone call from Pike Creek stating that my mother woke that morning and complained of pain IN HER SHOULDER then became unresponsive and they could not get a pulse. My mother should have been sent back to Christiana hospital when she was sick. Instead, they put her in bed and did NOTHING. My mother was scheduled to stay at Pike Creek 30 days for physical therapy. An investigation should be performed every time a patient dies unexpectedly in any nursing home. How much money do these nursing homes get paid to KILL patients? I am seeking legal counseling.

They made the reentry of one of their long term residents back, on hospice, smooth, and easy. She loves it there, and they are working to keep her there, til the end. Update: they DID keep her til the end, right where she wanted to be. After she passed several workers came in to say goodbye, and they even let the family give less notice to save some money. The renovation made the ace look new. Classy and updated, a very pretty place. There was always a cluster of residents hanging out by the door, greeting, and judging. Lol, as we walked by. A very nice place, all the way around.
