Getting married at MillCreek Wilde was a wedding dream come true! We wanted an outdoors wedding with lots of room and activities for guests and MillCreek was the perfect venue! The venue is artistically designed with a bonfire, cottages for the wedding party to get ready, an old barn for pictures, and trails for guests to take walks. The MillCreek team worked with us from the beginning to design the perfect day and completely took the lead on set up and clean up. I am a bride that was supposed to be married here in August 2020 and had to make the difficult decision to postpone our 180 person wedding due to covid. I wasn't going to leave a review but after seeing Amy lying in the responses I have to. Throughout the conversation Amy and Kirby were rude and not compassionate at all. In the end, I was given three options. 1- rebook for no fee in 2020 (my wedding was in August, they close in Oct so wasn't a solution because covid is still here) 2. Rebook on a Sunday with no refund to the priority rate we paid for our Saturday wedding. Saturdays cost more and we wouldn't be refunded. A Sunday is not an option for many families with out of town guests 3. Rebook any date in the future, lose 100% of the full amount for 2020, rebook at the full (increased for 2021) rates and receive a $1,000 credit for our troubles. This option would have cost us $11,500. The only way I wouldn't loose $5,500 I paid is if I paid more for a worse day (Sunday). The management was rude and kept saying how we are choosing to cancel (they used this language during the lockdown, when we would have been legally forced not a choice), complaining about how much this was going to cost them and more. Below is a portion of the first email I got from Amy when discussing this, they added the Sunday option for no extra cost (an no refund of overpayment) after they started getting dragged online, the local news, had to delete their social media, and started faking reviews! Our current policy to help mitigate the problem is as follows: 1. We will allow clients to move their current date forward to an available date later in the 2020 season without refund of any monies. Under the current circumstances we regard every date to be of equal value. ( date are attached for you) 2. If they choose, clients can cancel their current 2020 date forfeiting all monies paid to date - then re-book a 2021 date with a a $1,000.00 event deposit and a new Rental Agreement. With a new balance due 8 months prior - Out of consideration The Barns Management will credit the new invoice a $1,000.00 discount. I'll gladly share my entire email chain with anyone who wants it, at one point they were making people sign a non-disclosure to resign a contract after all this mess. If it was about the money, I wouldn't have said anything. We are able to absorb this cost but the Amy and Kirby were some of the worst people I've had the displeasure of doing business with. Everyone is struggling right now and they approached the situation with the smug confidence that a technicality kept them from having to repay people. I don't care how pretty the venue is, run far far away. There are plenty of barns in the are and frankly you'll be better off in a field. read more

This would have been a 4 star review...except for the bathroom issue. The toilets were out of service-TWICE! The first time was before guests even arrived. There was no "plan B" as the first episode left the facilities out of commission for hours. As a guest, how inconvenient! Imagine attempting to relieve yourself in the dark woods while it's raining, holding a community umbrella. At some point, "raw sewage" was mentioned by staff working the event. Overall, lovely setting with lots of potential-just include female urinals with your party favors. read more

We held our wedding there over the summer and had an amazing time. The space is beautiful! They paid so much attention to detail. I'm not from the area but the owners, Kirby and Amy, were very helpful. I must have emailed them a million times. They were very patient with me. They had great recommendations for everything from caterers to liquor suppliers. It was the greatest day of my life and the Millcreek Barn made it that much more special. read more

We booked the Millcreek Barn for our May 2010 wedding reception and were so happy with how everything turned out! Our guests were so excited about the venue since it was so different then the other receptions they had been too. The owners, Amy and Kirby, renovated the barn to turn it into an elegant venue. This is the second barn that they have renovated in the area (their first is Blue Dress Barn). I would recommend that any bride and groom head up to Southwest Michigan and book Millcreek Barn for an unforgettable wedding! read more

If there were 10 stars, I would give them. My daughter and son-in-law chose this barn because they wanted something different and this venue fit the bill and then some. We just had our wedding there on 9/28/12 and our guests were blown away by the venue, vendors, and overall feel of this incredible space. Kirby worked with us throughout the process and was professional, dilligent, and extremely helpful with vendor recommendations. The grounds are pristine and the barn is immaculate with modern updates while still keeping a barn feel. Most of our guests said that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. My husband and I got married at Millcreek Barns about a month and a half ago and are still re living every wonderful moment! The setting is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by woods and natural greenery. It is definitely an "off the beaten path" feel and you are surprised when you drive up to a newly renovated barn that has vintage and rustic appeal. The decorations and permanent installations are great ad ins for a barn wedding. Our wedding ceremony was outside in the garden and then we proceeded to the barn for the reception where we stuffed cake in each other's faces and danced the night away while taking s'more making breaks by the fire. When we had our consultation a month before the wedding, Lynn was so helpful and reassuring about the details of the wedding. The staff worked with us on the table lay out that we wanted and had everything set and ready to go by the time we got there on the wedding day to set up our decorations. Kirby was always so prompt on responding to my e-mails and answering questions that I had. This is a very well organized crew! We couldn't have asked for anything more and we will always think back fondly on our wedding day and experience as a whole. read more

If you're thinking of having your wedding at Millcreek Barn, do your research. Pros: -Absolutely beautiful building. It's beautiful as is. It doesn't take much work or decorating to be ready for your ceremony. -The outside ceremony area is beautiful as well. -It's not outrageously priced. But beware, you get what you see. Anything extra will cost you. - Size. We had about 70 people at our wedding. While the barn certainly could have held more, it wasn't too big for that group. -Again, it's a really beautiful place. Cons: -Heaters keep the place toasty. But they do it by blowing hot air very forcefully into the bar area. It was a nuisance, but the alternative was to freeze. The heaters are an extra charge. -Dealing with Kirby, an owner, is very difficult. He's not very personable, and doesn't seem to have a problem being quite rude. We had a disagreement regarding how much work he was going to do during set-up. Even after paying him thousands of dollars, he flatly refused to work for us. I had to ask my groomsmen to get to work setting up tables and chairs the way we wanted them before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour. I was not happy about this. After paying someone a few thousand dollars for half of a day, you shouldn't have to put your own people to work. Now when my guys showed up early to set up, someone from the barn did step up and take over. But in my opinion, the damage had been done. I should also mention that after an incredibly rude encounter with Kirby, he did apologize. It was over e-mail, and not to the correct person, but he did apologize. read more
