I will admit to patronizing several of them, but my search for a local liquor store as ceased with the discovery (and more frequent patronization) of Townline Discount Wines & Liquors, which surpasses them all. Yes, they carry a wide range of mass produced wine, beer, and spirits but they also carry some unique selections, all at competitive prices. They also have a good selection of local, craft and small batch beer (which I appreciate more and more). In addition to the selection, they get high marks from me for their customer service. The owners have always been very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, even going as far as to offer to purchase a varietal of wine not on their shelves. Now that's customer service!

The first couple of times I went to check out, I got this feeling that I was unwelcome. It was the same guy at the counter both times, and he was just silent as I stood there. I came back when I saw them listed as carrying Dale's Pale, and have never seen that employee again. Now, in the larger location, the staff is all friendly as can be. Recently, they spent a long time picking through their distributor's catalog to find a bottle of Root for me. They ordered it with no money up front, and it came in only a few days. I was definitely pleased with the experience. They have a large selection of craft beers. The last time I was in there, they no longer had Dale's Pale. It was rather heartbreaking for me, and am hoping that it just happened to be out of stock. Still, they have a great selection of other beers. They have a ton of wine to choose from, and a large selection of hard liquor. It's a huge, clean store with friendly staff. They also cleaned up the parking lot recently, fixing the rough spots. Here, all of the basics with enough options of each wine (by region), sprits, coolers with your standard brewed beverages, and a well selected local craft ales. Staff take a "not on your face approach" and let you browse, of course, if you have a question, they are nearby to assist. Now for my secret, right next door is our favorite paint store, so I always volunteer to go get another gallon of paint and a 4 pack!

The guy added that you also get a 10% discount on single prices if you buy four, and there prices were fair to begin with IMO. Don't fooled by the cooler cases and be sure to step into the beer cave to see the full selection! Super nice, super helpful, good prices, great selection--not much to say about the decor! I think I will be back in West Hartford, and when I do, this will be my shop.

Also found the Smash on the Beach drinks I was looking for, hard Sunny D, and New England blueberry cider which is also hard to find sometimes. Bottle Stop is right between the huge Avon Goodwill Store and an auto parts dealer, and truth be told it looks small and fairly unimpressive from the parking lot. But once you go inside you'll see that the store is actually quite large and the aisles seem to go on forever. Their beer section is enormous, filling both sides of an aisle from the front of the store to the back. They sell quite a few single bottles so you can be adventurous and create your own six packs. We went to the bargain wine section and walked away with a nice Pinot Grigio for $3.99. Wandering the aisles and checking out their big inventory made me pretty sure they would have whatever I might need from a liquor store.

The owner is super nice and friendly, and made excellent suggestions to us. They have wine in there that I've never even heard of, which is a super good and awesome sign. I can't believe we've lived 5 mins down the road from here for the last 2.5 years and never thought to check it out. If you want Scottish or Irish whiskey that you can't find in other places, def come here, chances are they actually have it. I also bought an amazing $80 huge bottle of Kentucky bourbon, and it's one of the best bourbon's I've ever had. If you're in the Rocky Hill/Wethersfield area, you def need to come here, because they have something for everyone.
