I started craving it on toasted Naan bread as a dessert after dinner - instead of something less healthy. The flavor is outstanding - very strong, fresh raspberry flavor - smooth and silky! I just about licked the jar when there wasn't any left. My brother lives in Westfield and last summer he took me to a country store that sells fresh produce and baked goods In town. To my delight, they had some Crimson Lion products. I was delighted to find my seedless raspberry jam! The owner stated that Crimson Lion suppliers would back would be back in the Fall to stock the store with more products. Unfortunately I haven't been back yet but plan on visiting soon!

"They got a name for the winners in the world I want a name…read morewhen I lose They call Alabama the Crimson Tide Call me Deacon Blues" (Steely Dan) We were at the NEPM Asparagus Festival in Hadley and saw the Crimson Lion stall in vendor row. They had a fantastic display of salsa jars and what looked like a sampling station of 20 or so varieties. Now, I'm a salsa fiend. I use it on my eggs, mix it in my soups, and love to snack on a 100-calorie pack of Pringles and a small bowl of salsa. Salsa is pretty close to calorie free, ya know.... I had a sample of their Cherry Salsa, and loved its bright flavor, so I decided they did pretty good job with fruit salsas. I picked up a jar of Hawaiian Pineapple and Best Chopped Salsas. Both were on the mild side, because all of their spicy salsas had quickly sold out. The Chopped Salsa had a nice smoky taste, and I liked the texture of the chopped ingredients. The onions and jalapenos had a bit of a crunch and weren't pulverized into a homogeneous state. The salsas were pricey - over $10 a jar. I usually don't go that high, but I was swept up in the "support the local business" social responsibility vibes of the festival, so I made an exception.
