Visited this park for the first time this past weekend - huge open space, off leash and no land mines!

We happened to be in the area so stopped by Mill Valley Dog Park to let our pup run for a bit, and I'm so glad we did! It wasn't a fenced-in park, but the grassy area was large and flat enough to easily keep an eye on our dog while enjoying a beautiful sunset. It was very quiet when we went (maybe 3-4 dogs), but it's possible we went during "off hours". Either way, beautiful spot by the water with plenty of room for your dog to blow off some steam.

A dog park with a view? - How fantastic is this! While much of the hills surrounding Mill Valley are a huge dog park in themselves, this is the perfect place to come to when you want to play fetch with your dog or want them to socialize with other dogs. Most of the time when I get here, there's a group of dog owners standing around and chit-chatting while their respective canines are playing hide'n'seek or catch. There's plenty of fresh water and bowls as well as heaps of (empty) poop bags.

My favorite place to romp with the pooches. People are generally friendly and helpful. Bags available and fresh water for dogs. Close to sewage plant which has a public bathroom. Lots of beautiful birdies too!

Really an ideal location for a park! Plenty of parking whether you park in the lot or along the road. It gets quite busy as a number of kids extracurricular activities happen here on evenings and over the weekend. I like coming here to walk with our pup, as there's plenty of grass and space to sniff. Some other dogs we see are off leash, but most people we see are good about keeping their dogs on leash. There are plenty of trees along the park, and a cute path that leads to the neighborhood further up the street. Also, the grounds are kept quite clean, and I seldom see any litter on the ground. Definitely appreciate people keeping our local park clean!

Two tiny picnic tables are under a partly shaded canopy. Benches are dispersed throughout. When we went, there were ample porta-potties and portable hand-wash basins just outside the fences, and there are permanent bathrooms at the tennis courts nearby. Besides the fenced-in playground, there's a larger park with ample grassy areas, tennis courts, a baseball field, I think a soccer field, picnic tables with barbecue (BBQ) pits, and a small pond with a walking path around it. There's ample parking for cars and a couple of bike racks too. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!

Although we can't play social sports for the time-being, we can still go outside for a little R & R. Thanks God for Brickyard Park. This property (which is owned by the Strawberry Rec. Dept.) is a hidden beach, children's playground, picnic ground, all rolled into one. For me and my dog, it's our own private oasis. We'll walk here, sit on a bench, and soak in the sun and serene bayside views. It's a great spot to watch seals playing in the water and paddle boarders doing their thing with glorious Mt. Tam in the background. It's picture perfect. In challenging times like these, beautiful spots like Brickyard Park give me solace and hope. This place doesn't draw tons of visitors, nor does it exist to make money off admission or parking fees. It's just a lovely park whose sole purpose is to bring joy and peace to folks in the area. What's not to love about that? So if you're looking to commune with nature, type Brickyard Park into your GPS and reward yourself with some much needed moments of zen. You'll thank for me it later.

The playground is well-kept with two slides and a fun boat motif. There are two swings for children under 5. No dogs allowed. There is a surprisingly clean handicap accessible port-o-let (easy for a parent & child to go into together). The only real downside i can see is that the park is open to the waterway, with just a mini stone wall separating the playground with the beach. The kiddos listened and didn't go past the wall... but the wall certainly wouldn't have stopped them. Logistics: when driving to the park, you have to keep your eye out for a small walkway that heads down a cement path to the park. Not a far walk from the car!

The ocean isn't bright blue like postcards, it's deep gray-green, powerful, and constantly moving. The waves don't gently roll in... they crash. You feel it in your chest before you even step on the sand. The sand is darker and softer than most beaches, almost cool even in the sun. Behind you are tall grasses and weathered driftwood, not hotels. In front of you is nothing but horizon. There's a small creek cutting through the beach and a wooden bridge crossing it, which somehow makes the whole place feel more like a nature preserve than a tourist stop. People aren't blasting music or playing volleyball, they're walking, breathing, taking pictures, or just sitting quietly watching the water. If you want a loud beach day, this isn't it. If you want to slow down and actually feel the ocean, this is one of the most peaceful places near San Francisco.

There are places for BBQ and picnic which are nice. The beach is so huge that finding a spot to sit or having lunch is not hard. We took many nice pictures and hike to the top of the beach.
