The restaurant has been around for so long, and I've been going here since I was a kid. The service is amazing, and the employees have had many experiences with food in the past . That's a great start! The Mexican food is absolutely awesome. The desserts are amazing also. What an incredible meal. There is a reason places like this last for decades. Great flavored food, great prices and a friendly owner and staff. I got the large combo. Large combo is an understatement. It came with six items, rice, beans and two dessert sopapillas . The six items were cheese enchilada, beef enchilada, bean enchilada, beef taco, chicken taco and a tostada. The price was $14.50. What? I live in Las Vegas and this meal would easily be over $30. We had to take the food to go due to Covid so if it tasted so good out of styrofoam boxes, l can imagine was it would taste like on a hot plate. Thank you for the great food. Keep it up. We have been eating at the Mill Stop since I was born 24 yrs ago. They're a fantastic hole-in-the-wall authentic Mexican restaurant. You must get the papa's with green chili to start, it's so unique and delicious. Who wouldn't love fried potatoes and Colorado green chili? For your main course, you have to try the "on white tacos". Unlike your traditional corn tacos, they have the option to have your yummy fillings stuffed into a fried crispy flour tortilla. I get the chicken on white with lettuce and cheese. As a delicious end to a fantastic meal, you get sopapillas. They're light, airy, fluffy and crisp on the outside. Douse it in honey and cinnamon sugar and you're good to go! read more

We drove to the Millstop yesterday from Colo Spgs because we needed our Millstop fix. We set up our table across the street and ordered all our favorites with extra salsa and chips. It was so awesome a second order was placed for later that night. Got delivery service to the parking lot, and we enjoyed a great meal, thank you to all working and keeping us safe and well fed. This is a hole in the wall, family owned and operated place. We love being patrons of places like this. It's a small cafe so it gets crowded quickly, but the food was great!!! The staff was super friendly and efficient given how busy they were aNd that they were operating in very tight spaces. Again, our food was excellent. We will definitely be back. Portions are awesome! Family owned restaurant which is refreshing, a small cafe style venue with friendly staff. The sopapillas are one of the best things on the menu. This is a place the locals go to for good food, I don't blame them. Based on their Yelp rating I went from my hotel for a brown bag of carry out. The place is non-stop traffic of locals coming for their call in orders. Portion size: I ordered the "small" combo but it was more than I could eat. Customer Service: I enjoyed talking to the younger girl that took my order. With my hearing loss she made sure I could get what I wanted, and Hold the Onions! The guy that brought my order from the kitchen made sure it was what I had ordered (QC) and packed in the Pico and sauces I wanted. And the owner, between greeting he regulars spent time chatting with me. Take time to say Hi to them all. Looks: Well, the building is in a somewhat older part of town and the building isn't new but it is clean and well maintained. My guess is that it is called the Mill Stop is because it is across the interstate from the Old Steel Mill. They earned their stripes by serving food to the working families that made the steel, mostly locals that wanted good food. To keep the doors open, and they have been in business for 39-years, they have had to keep up their standards throughout that time. Negatives: Well, I am picky about rice and I would change this menu item. The beans were refried, I might have an option for whole or refried but there was nothing wrong with the flavor. Price: It is pretty good food and a good price. I am not from Pueblo but I definitely will be back here when passing through again and things open up so I can eat at a table or at their counter. I had a dream about Pueblo food last night and the Mill Stop popped into my head. The Mill Stop is is one of Pueblo's great places to eat. Its a fantastic gut filling place where a steel worker would come after a couple of a cold beers and a great meal. The Mill stop is another pueblo institution that does not get it's proper place in the big picture, as it's off the beaten path location hides its greatness. They have some awesome green chili. You can get it with about everything here. My suggestion is to get the pork stuffed sopapillas smothered with green chili. Or a burrito covered in some of that green goodness. Or come for breakfast and get your huevos covered with green chili. Starting to see a trend? The Mill Stop makes some damn good green chili. And the honest workingman's food here will make your stomach a happy camper. This is a hidden gem in Pueblo's pool of authentic Southwestern Mexican food joints. read more

Fabulous, casual food and service! I really enjoyed everything about this place! We came for dinner on a Friday night. They were packed and there was a wait. They sat us at the counter and brought us water and menus as we waited for a table. Another server came and got our order before we got our table. While we waited I noticed all the staff were not only cheerful and courtesious to the customers but to their Co workers as well. I loved that! The atmosphere was hospitable and joyful. After we got to our tables our drinks were refilled numerous times. The food arrived hot and fresh. I got the chicken enchiladas with both green and red sauce. I loved it! Everyone else liked their food as well. To top it all off we were surprised by the unexpected sopapillas that came with the meal. Perfection! One thing to note, chips and salsa did not come with the meal. You may be able to order them. A+ read more

I think the thrill of eating here is more nostalgic than .. ahem. Packs a crowd always. My lil one had her first sopapilla here. Chicken tacos on white. A bit soggy . Ask for the tomatillo and picadillo salsa's as the red is boring on flavor. This place is an iconic Pueblo eatery, and the staff have mostly worked here for many years. I have friends who come from out of town and always want to eat here. I like it too, but not as much. The green chili usually isn't as spicy as I prefer and seems more like a sauce than actual chili. Otherwise, the food is very good. Best of all are the sopapillas!!! They come with every meal and are the high point for me - soft inside and crispy outside. The service is good too. These are friendly people. I give only 4 stars because of the green chili, but I'm always ready to stop there! It's good comfort food, and a true icon. read more

I love this place. The service here is excellent and it definitely has that warm, small town feeling. I noticed several people come in who the staff knew by 1st name. They definitely make you feel welcomed here. As far as the food goes, the flavors are as big as the portions. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and it took up the entire plate. I also ordered a bean tostada that was simple, but good. After I finished my meal, I was pleasantly surprised with a nice, warm sopapilla and a bottle of honey.
