"Three little birds
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Sayin' this is my message to you"
(Bob Marley)
There were a lot more than three birds here. I'm not sure I've ever seen these many birds, namely geese and ducks in one place before. And even if they weren't singing, they were sure honking up a storm by the thousands.
Our visit to Mill Pond Park was excellent. It started with a pretty cool waterfall that was between the parking lot and the park's entrance.
As expected, the crown jewel of Mill Pond Park was the gorgeous pond, home to what looks like thousands of geese and ducks, happily swimming around and honking in their language. There's a wide walking path around the Pond that gives you some pretty scenery and a few bridges to walk on.
The property also has a baseball field, a basketball Court, concession Stand, football field, playground, fitness stations, swimming pool, two soccer fields, a tennis court, and some side trails.
One curiosity we noticed was that with all of the waterfowl out there, the perimeter walking path around the path was for the most part debris free.
That was a far cry from what we encountered at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain a few days ago. read more
