While the playground is geared toward the play school age child (up to 12 years old), there is a sandbox and swings for younger children. There are 2 large playscapes. One unit is smaller, for the less adventurous child. They also have a small rock climbing wall, a rope web, a sea dragon to climb, a few bouncing trucks and a bouncing seesaw. Outside of the playground, there is a walking/running track, football and baseball field and a party pavilion. Kudos to the Town of Cromwell for such an awesome, clean and kid friendly park!

They're far enough away that you aren't under direct fire (there are large water guns), but you may get a refreshing spray now and then. This would be a great spot to meet up with some friends for a picnic and to let the kids run wild!

There are public bathrooms at the boathouse and note that there are often events (like weddings) at the actual structure. This happens all nights of the year (or so it seems and by that I mean random weeknights is when I often stumble upon a wedding). It used to be PACKED during COVID. You will almost always find parking in the main lot but occasionally if there are kids sport games on the fields, and lots of kids on the playground, and boats being launched (boats plus trailers take up two spots)... well then you will maybe need to park in the overflow lot. I'm not sure if both of those lots are ever simultaneously full but there is a little parking garage a tiny way up the road by the Glastonbury library (if needed). It's a quick walk up to town & there are some little free libraries (and Poke-stops) nearby! Thank you :)

We walked through a trail which was located off Main Street and past the dog park. Then we walked towards the main entrance which was where the picnic pavilion was located. This is a fun spot that's a little underwhelming in terms of the attractions. Part museum, part…read morepark, when we went it was covered in snow, so we only really were able to experience what's inside. It's $6, and small kids are free, which was an appropriate cost. You'll walk into a few small animals in exhibits - snakes, frogs, etc. - which are fun, and then get to the fossils and stuff. They have one of those topographical sand tables, which are fun for little ones (also saw some teens playing with it, so fun for all ages). They have a bunch of fossils, mostly fossilized footprints, and one mostly complete dinosaur specimen, as well as an impressive room that must've been 100 ft wide that shows tracks that different dinosaurs made over the eons. That part was very cool. But, it's a pretty small spot, and you can walk through it really quickly, probably in 15 mins or so if you're quick. We have a small kid, so we spent probably closer to an hour and ran through it a couple times. Ultimately, it was a good stop, but not something I'd really go out of my way to do again.

There were many picnic tables and benches throughout. I'm betting this is a great spot to go sledding during the winter since there are many hills there. We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves today. We walked the park's paths that meander through its 28 acres and connect so many great entertainment and athletic options. We saw an amphitheater, six clay tennis courts, a lighted little league field, a soccer field, a Children's Forest, a huge playground, pickleball courts, a splash pad, a nice pond, hiking trails, pretty scenery, and a long boardwalk over wetlands. That's a ton of things for your enjoyment. I really didn't expect this park to be as awesome as it was, but I was thrilled to have underestimated it.

The pavilion is a big 40'x40' covered wood structure with lots of picnic tables and benches. They also have a companion building with a kitchen, refrigerator, sink, service counter, and stove. The grounds are gorgeous and I spent an hour or so wandering around the hiking trails and over the wood bridges and enjoying the tranquil beauty of the lake before my event started.
