So, starting off at Spruce Brook Road, (keep a sharp eye out for the "park closes at sundown" sign, that looks like it's actually located in a private driveway) the blue blaze trail is initially well marked; but, that quickly changes as you progress. If you find yourself hiking down the middle of what seems to be a small stream, you're on track. Eventually, you reach dry ground, if only for a time, and the blue blazes reappear. The blue blaze trail intersects with the yellow, Berlin Land Trust trail; which is far better and more consistently marked; so, I chose to follow it, eventually reaching the summit, where again I connected to the blue trail. Along the way, there are moderately interesting views of crevassed, cliff faces and rock formations. All in all, this was not a remarkable hike, excepting the presence of the endangered Lady Slipper Orchid; so, keep an eye out, watch where you step, and by no means pick one if you see one. Be prepared for muddy, rocky, terrain.
