The White Hart is a basic establishment serving superb Adnams ales. Service is fast and friendly. This pub has a hidden positive. Having a large area at the side and back they allow you to sit there with your Aldeburgh Fish and Chips (frying next door) on a minor condition that you buy a pint or two. Who wouldn't anyway? Covid restrictions are in place at the moment but that doesn't stop the marvellous service. A nice hour or two.

The pub is beautiful and cosy, the landlady was kind and cheerful and the food.....oh god, the food! We both had a starter of pigeon, not something you usually see on a pub menu and it was superbly cooked and tasted amazing. For my main I chose the steak burger with chips and onion rings, the burger was big, flavoursome and juicy and the touch I like is that the tomato ketchup on table was all homemade, not from a bottle! We will certainly come back to this awesome place if we are ever near the area again because it was outstanding!!

(Maybe it was because I am American, but I was with Brits so...might just be the way it is.) You can now see the menu online which gives you a chance to have a look at what you fancy before you go. It is the type of pub where you could just sit and drink all day in as it's nice and relaxing. It is a nice area to go walking in too so if you fancy a pint after a long walk, pop into the bar to be suitably refreshed.

The inn is 15th century and retains so many of the old features such as cut-outs in the wall to display the wattle and daub construction of the walls. The flagstone floors are lovely as well. The Admans ale is the best in Britain, hands down, although I do not recall whether this is a "tied" house. I remember, a few decades ago, watching the marriage of Charles and Diana on the telly in the bar and getting plastered with the locals. This place is as traditional as it gets. The last time I was there I saw no fruit machines and I doubt any have appeared since then. A Suffolk treasure beyond measure.
