A great pub with accommodation (six rooms). I stayed here with a group of guys in October 2008 as they offered twin rooms and were close to two local golf courses.
The bar is very good offering a good range of beers/ales and very good food (from the a la carte menu) which although expensive for a pub was worth it. I guess you could call it a gastro pub with a variety of dishes including all the usual meats and a fish dish. The lounge bar very cosy indeed with a feature fireplace and library type setting. There is also a skittles alley which we did not see.
The service was excellent and probably made the whole evening. The landlady/manager was particularly friendly and nothing was too much trouble - she really understood the business and her clientele.
They also offer a full English or continental breakfast for those staying over which is was pretty good.
The rooms were adequate with ensuite facilities (baths rather than showers though which is made clear on their website). read more
