He appeared to be very knowledgable of the selection, letting me know the percentages. I took a seat in the lovely rustic restaurant, browsed the fine selection on the menu and enjoyed their free WiFi. I was after a steak (£23! A little pricey if you ask me), so I went for a Tuns Burger instead (around £10). After a 10-minute wait, my food arrived and it looked delicious. The fries and onion rings were already salted which I found a little odd, the portion was a little small for my liking but overall, the burger was gorgeous and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. A lovely pub, generally reasonably priced and would definitely return!

It's a lovely looking place and has quite a comfortable and cosy feel to it. The menu although not huge offered a big enough for variety for your average customer. We both ended up going for meals of the specials menu which sounded particularly yummy! We ordered our food and a couple of drinks and sat down to chat while we waited for our food to arrive. Having a catch up we had much to talk about and didn't notice the time at first but the rumbling tummy helped remind me the food had been a while. In fact it had been about 40 minutes! There weren't really any staff about and then somebody appeared with food, popped my order in front of me and then my friend said that it wasn't what she ordered so took it away to get hers. Luckily I didn't start eating, as 2 minutes later he was back to take mine off me and tell me that both dishes were for other tables and mine was still in the kitchen! Eventually 10 minutes later I complained and mentioned we'd been waiting an hour and still had no food! He apologised and said we're busy - there were/had been about 15 people in there max, 4 of which had eaten and left in the time we were waiting! Food arrived 5 minutes later, it was quite tasty, value for money but I'd advise you only go there if you want to work up a hunger as you wait for your food! The staff were actually very friendly and certainly very relaxed - I can probably understand the other comments on slowness. We ordered food which came out in reasonable time but then had forgotten the roated peppers on my goats cheese and roast pepper jacket potatoe. To be honest it was not a big deal at all and was soon rectified once I pointed it out. Overall it's a really nice pub.

I flagged down a server and was told to sit anywhere not marked "reserved". Inside was so noisy and hot that we chose to sit outside where it was cool and the patio is very pretty. Unfortunately, nowhere did it say that the patio was self-serve-only so we sat for 10 mins or so before flagging down a server inside who told us to go to the bar. BTW, self service also includes grabbing your own menus and silverware off one of the tables inside. I went to the bar and ordered our food and drinks, the bartender asked we what table we were sitting at and then looked at me like I was an idiot when I said I didn't know. He told me the tables are all clearly marked (they aren't) and that we were table 100 for future reference (that I will never need since I won't be back. Maybe this is all standard for brits but as an American unfamiliar with the "standards" I found it all quite off-putting. I will never understand how British servers get away with being surly or rude, don't they know they're in the hospitality business? I had the chicken tikka masala which was fine except the pappadum barely touched the oil and was like damp cardboard. The naan was good and piping hot and the Chardonnay was quite nice. The outside seating area is very inviting and has lovely hanging baskets of flowers. Too bad they don't actually want to serve guests out there.
