Came on a Monday. They have a happier hour special with discounted drinks and appetizers. Had the chicken bites, cauliflower bites, artichoke dip and 1989 burger with Belgian moon. Also tried the key lime pie. Sat by the bar area. It was quite sunny and you either have to fully close the blinds or keep it open. Blinds are a solid cloth, no in between. The appetizers were tasty. I really liked the artichoke and spinach dip, however, it didn't come with much nacho chips. The burger was tasty and was a full meal. It came with string fries which were crispy. 3.5 Visited here on the first day of re-opening as part of COVID phase 2. I was a little apprehensive at first but seeing how many precautions they were taking put me at ease. The staff really take time to wipe everything down (tables, chairs, handles etc). All staff were wearing masks as well, and tables were distanced apart. It felt so nice to eat out and sit in the sun on a Friday evening after work for the first time in what felt like forever. The food at Milestones is nothing special, but it was prepared well and promptly. The plating was nice too, and the patio ambience was great. We called ahead but since it was a busy night they told us it'd be an hour wait. It gives the vibe of a classy sports bar. After being seated, we started with the asian chicken bites. Very good starter and definitely would recommend. Would I go again if someone bought again? Yes. Would I go if I had a date or wanted to impress? Likely not. It's a chain and a nice chain, but it didn't really do it for me. The hosts were friendly, but it just felt like a veneer. The waitress was phenomenal, so that made up for things. She was very attentive, very good and generally what you would want in a waitress. We had a wide variety of appetizers which seemed to me to be a couple steps above bar food. Nothing great, nothing terrible. I kind of liked the sweet yam fries the best. I had the surfside salad. I don't think I would get it again. A couple small chunks of salmon and a few shrimp of unknown origin in a bland salad. If you want healthy, this may be the thing for you. As a taste and meal, it just wasn't prepared very well and was about what you would consider average. Pro-tip: Parking is tough, so don't park where you might get towed. When this place first opened years back, a stir-fry dish I really liked was on the menu but then the item was discontinued.. I had celebrated my birthday at another location one year.. More recently, ordered appetizers for the table to share and both dishes were very filling. But for some reason last week's dining experience just didn't go as what I usually expect it to be. I took my sister out for her 20th Birthday last Thursday evening. We were seated right away but no one came to greet and take our order until about 10 minutes after. If my sister didn't ask the hostess where our server was I'm pretty sure we would've been sitting there for longer. We both ordered the prime rib in medium-rare for our dinner. Approximately 5-10 minutes later our server returned and told us that the kitchen could not our prime rib cooked to medium rare and that they could do medium. We love our prime rib in medium rare so this was VERY disappointing. It's strange because we've ordered the exact same order from the same restaurant and medium rare was an option. Since we've been waiting for so long we decided to just settle with their medium prime rib. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I was here with an acquaintance and have mixed feelings about it. The restaurant felt clean and modern. We were seated right away and the nice and friendly waitress showed up next. She was polite and trained to retain and use your name. So far, so good. The menu, however, was limited and it was difficult to find something nice and different in it. I was recently invited to have lunch here at this recently redone location for Milestones in Mississauga. Admitedly, my perception of milestones has always been a slightly more out of date version of say a Moxies or Joeys, but will a way bigger menu. Recently the top brass decided they needed to get into their buts in gear to compete as they were spiraling further and further out of touch. Across the board, Milestones has implemented a 180 and revamped the look of their restaurants one at a time, given their service staff new training and paired down their menu to serve only the BEST with some modifications and new additions. Now you experience the same amount of FOMO except over say 10 items instead of 60 (actual number of menu items not accurate). For my started I went for the new calamari dish, much lighter, crispier and served with a better dipping sauce than before. Yum. Followed up I had the Sirloin steak topped with shrimp and crab meat - it was to die for. Seriously, I recently learned that most chains are sent their steaks pre-seasoned and frozen) and I learned that Milestones is doing everything (including their steaks) made to order. For a sirloin it was cooked to a perfect medium-rare and was still quite juicy. Came here with two other people and we asked to be seated as soon as possible and wouldn't mind sitting at the bar if that meant faster service. We were seated at a high top table and asked to wait a moment while they cleaned it.... that took a good 10 minutes. All I wanted was a French onion soup and I wasn't feeling 100%. My friend ordered pasta and bf ordered a burger. My soup came out cold, I felt like they only heated the top of it for the cheese to melt as the actual soup inside was cold. I didn't need to let it cool at all to eat. When I told the waitress that she said it's not possible because it's baked in the oven. I had to take a spoonful to show her it was cold. This was my family's first trip to eat out in two years, and Milestone's was absolutely flawless. Our server, Anna, was phenomenal, dealing with my husband's picky preferences, and engaging with each of my kids (various ages). It was a fairly busy night and she was attentive with drinks and check ups, and accurate with our orders. She also took the time to explain all of the locations health and safety policies and procedures, which made me feel confident in our choice of restaurant. I know others might like it brighter but for me I like the mood. The menu was only one side of a large page. I was expecting it to be bigger as I thought the Milestones downtown had a book type menu, I could be wrong though. The prices were average for your typical franchise restaurant. I ordered the tomato sugo halibut which came on a bed of quinoa with tomato sauce, cream topping and green beans. It was $26 and was pretty good. This place was a great date night spot. There was no wait time when we arrived on a Sunday evening. Julia was a server. She was friendly and gave us great service.
