There's also a tourist area in the back with brochures and a staffer ready to assist in case you need some recommendations for attractions and activities. A restroom is available nearby too.  The Depot is, fittingly enough, located in an old historic train depot. It has a small parking lot attached to it, though I observed some people parking in there and walking across the street which didn't seem too kosher.

Now that life is finally back-we can venture out and play. This gallery is warm, inviting, and full of electric energy. I visited this weekend and their two shows are: First Nation Australia Laura Josephine Snyder Second Street Gallery has introduced me to Australian art and culture, for which, I'm grateful. I'm looking forward to the next show! The museum is free and has great hours. We had our friends and family paint mini canvases for our future home, and we could not have asked for a better space. The coordinator, Courtney, was very helpful in finding us the right seating arrangement for everyone to fit and still have space to paint freely. She was also very responsive and answered all our questions before we booked. This is definitely one of the most affordable event spaces in town and offers great vibes for any occasion. When we arrived, Courtney had all the tables and chairs set up and ready for us to lay out supplies and food. Everything was clean and well lit. There was even a speaker to play music over. The booking process was pain-free, and I feel the space was worth every penny for the experience it created.

We came a long way to a week-long event and we stayed in Harrisonburg both on the way and on the way back (halfway). I had found the store through Yelp and was eager to visit. We missed the business hours the first trip and got there at 4:50 on the way back. The clerk was so kind to stay open nearly an hour longer so the five of us could shop and see the art and studios. (All of us are artists). She was more than gracious! I'm in a power wheelchair which got caught on the rug at the check out and she was completely unfazed and kind about me thrashing about, causing her to move many things. The prices were a bit steep on many things but that didn't stop me from buying a lot of goodies I've searched for a long time. I left very happy, and so did my companions! We will all gladly go again next year if not before!

I first bought some non-gmo honey. I asked how they determine if their honey is non-gmo, which is a trick question of course. The nice lady in the store said the bees can only travel within a 2 mile radius (they don't go that far or they die), then they go back to their base camp to make honey. Within that 2-4 miles, there should be no gmo plants (like gmo corn) they could come in contact with or else the honey wouldn't be non-gmo, of course. The pottery and artwork are something I would want to display in my own home. If sky is the limit, I would buy that $400 salad bowl carved from a tree stump. Also, I love those pots that look like it was inspired by Gustav Klimt, in my opinion. I also love the handcrafted jewelry. During my first visit, I thought I would be able to find their merchandise somewhere else or online, but I found myself coming back. It's a wonderful and creative shop/boutique. Almost like an art gallery, without being pretentious.
