Pack Mule Moving was truly one of the best moving experiences I have ever had, and I have moved…read moremany times. Brandon (the owner) was exceptionally communicative and helpful, and he answered every single time that we called. Brandon came to our apartment and did an assessment of what was needed for our move. The day of the move, the team of four (Jeremiah, Andrew, Dustin, and Alain) arrived on time and got straight to work. They were very punctual, respectful, careful, hard-working, communicative, polite, and they were all around a great moving team. The team knew how to work together effectively. I could tell this team was well-trained and each person had a specific role that made the day run smoothly, which was beneficial as we had a TON of stuff and were moving from a third-floor apartment. The team took a very short lunch break, but they were there to work and never lollygagged. Jeremiah and Andrew from the original team drove the 9 hours and moved everything into my new place. They were again timely and very communicative about their arrival. In addition to their care for my personal belongings, they took the time to ensure the furniture was placed exactly where I wanted and even let me try a few different configurations in the bedroom. They were GREAT guys and I enjoyed having conversations with them throughout the move process. They were very personable and while the whole team was fantastic, they were clearly the team leaders. One of Pack Mule Movers biggest strengths include their disassembly and reassembly of furniture items. I am VERY type A person and have never trusted movers to take apart furniture, then store/transport tiny screws, and put furniture items back together. I quickly realized Jeremiah's system was very organized. He knew exactly where everything was whenever it came to reassembly at the new location. It was amazingly STRESS FREE on my end. There are three miniscule inconveniences that I faced throughout the move. The biggest downside was to avoid an additional fee, payment was limited to apps (Zelle, Cashapp, and Venmo). This made it harder for me to navigate; however, Brandon was very understanding with the issues I had making the deposit. The second challenge was how fast the moving team departed to get to my new place. Traveling 9 hours by myself was difficult in the time they proposed; however, they were very flexible, and we worked out an alternate timeline that allowed me to get some sleep. The final small unfortunate issue was the front glass pane on my curio was cracked during transit; however, Brandon offered a very fair refund for me to have the glass repaired. All of my other belongings arrived in great condition. All in all, I have dealt with many terrible movers, but that was not my experience with Pack Mule Moving and I would absolutely use them again. They may be more expensive than other movers in the area, but they are absolutely worth the extra cost.

Unfortunately, after having time to open and start unpacking boxes, the packing crew was worse than I thought. I have talked to their "service managers" 4 times and they promise "the owner will call me" and yet, we are still waiting. To begin, we were given a quote that was wildly inaccurate, the employees were not able to move our entire house and then unload it in the time estimated. We were also told that employees would disassemble furniture, load it, and unload it. There was inclement weather for a few hours, but by mid day, there was no excuse. The employees showed up without any tools to disassemble furniture -- we had to drive to our new house to get our own for them to use. What kind of moving company doesn't have tools? For over 8 hours, our furniture was left unassembled. All of our boxes had to be left in the garage because it would have taken more hours to unload them where they were supposed to be and would have been way over the quoted price! We had to remove padding and tape from our furniture and move furniture to the appropriate rooms ourselves. We didn't get a full service move. Our dining table damaged sustained multiple chips due to improper padding and moving. There was a large chip on top of table and multiple indents on each side of the table. We also had a small cabinet damaged. Because this company shows up to jobs without proper tools, they did not have proper moving equipment to move our washing machine or dryer. Our washer was damaged due to improper moving and lack of proper tools to move. The movers decided to park off of our driveway and drove off the driveway and into our neighbor's yard and left large missing parts of the grass. I would use another company, do not consider this one.

I checked after they left and the coupons were gone. Hired them again in 2022 to move into a one bedroom apartment in St Matthew's. When they got there they did not give enough time to direct them where I wanted things, they broke one of my lamps, and I lost a box with pictures and 3 small mini cameras. My last move, I used a moving organizer She used these guys. When we got to the new apartment, again I went into my bedroom and checked my two Chester drawers. Again, the drawers had clothes stuffed into drawers they did not belong in, a pair of jeans that should have been with the clothes in the walk in closet, and they spilled a large bowl of change I had in my Chester drawers. Don't use these guys. Untrustworthy and the owners / office are no help.

I did have a bill of lading from one of the big boy moving companies so he would have an idea of the size of the load. I was able to give him the weight of the load as well as the cubic feet of the load that the national moving company had in their truck. I did explain since i had been in Louisville I had purchased new washer and dryer, a new couch, a new chair and a new table and chairs for the kitchen. He walked the house and saw what I had which most of it was still boxed from my previous move in October of 2022. He stated that a 26-foot box truck would easily accommodate my household belongings. At first he quoted me an hourly rate of $50/hr for his people to pack and load then unload. Then he quoted me a hard number of $4,300 to pack, load a 26 foot truck, drive it to Indianapolis, unload and assemble items like beds, tables and such. I received another quote from a local mover which was a little lower but since Corey seemed more professional and seemed to know what he was doing I chose Alpha Moving. The three guys showed up pretty much when scheduled, one was a little late but we all got into packing the boxes I had saved from my previous move. I was working and packing as much as they were. I bought the three of them lunch and we got back at it. Afterwards I gave them all a $20 for their efforts. On the moving day they were supposed to return between 9 and 10 AM. Robert, one of the other owners, called me at about 9:20 to say that U-Haul did not give him any blankets and that he would need to return to the U-Haul store to get some. (My thought was, wouldn't you notice that before you leave the store and not while you are driving to my house? How does that happen? Did he stop for breakfast and look in the truck? Why didn't he notice when he was there?) Robert finally arrived after 10 AM and the guys started loading. As they got closer to the back of the truck there seemed to be more close conversations between them. They came to me and asked if I can take some items with me in my SUV which I reminded them that I had two large dogs that have been wandering around the house that I will be taking with me. Then they decided that they would place some items, as much as they could, into one of the employees cars. They finally came back to me and said that everything would not fit into the truck and they would either need to rent a trailer or they could have another employee drive his personal pick up (Ford Ranger) and fit as much as they could in that for another $300.00. I told them that I was ensured by Corey that everything would fit into a 26-foot box truck with ease. I told them that I work in an industry that when you give a price you live by it. Well Corey and Robert did not and were charging me the added $300 to get my belongings to my new house. Before we left they were sliding a glass tabletop to a desk into the truck and it shattered into over a million pieces. There was glass everywhere! It took them forever to sweep it out of the truck and on to the driveway and then pick it up off of the driveway using my broom and dustpan. We finally got all loaded and ready for our trek north at around 2 PM. I knew this had the makings of a very long day already. They offloaded the furniture first so I was able to direct where each piece was to go without issue. When they began offloading the boxes that was a different story. They had some boxes that were not labeled so they inevitably ended up in the wrong room. When they finally got everything unloaded we were all standing near the front door and I thanked them for their efforts. I gave them each a $20 again and told them I wish I could give them more but that I was still upset about being charged an extra $300 for Corey underestimating the size of the truck/equipment need to move my belongings and I was going to give each one of them a $50 bill but that they would need to see Corey for it. At that time Robert told me that it all most likely would have fit in this truck but he noticed early on that when they had started packing the front of the truck there were "pockets" and open spaces and the truck should have been packed better and "tighter" than it was. At this point one of the more seasoned employees turned around and walked out the door. I believe he was upset that Robert had just thrown him under the bus in front of a client. So we ended up settling on $300 for the cost of the glass tabletop but they charge an extra 3 or 4% if you use a credit card so they charged me $150 so my total bill was $4450.00 all in. As I have been unpacking I have noticed that one particular box is missing from my many boxes. I have texted Corey to see if either of the two Alpha employees have found the box in their vehicles but he has not responded at all in well over 72 hours which is very bad business.

The supervisor at the call center who called herself "Jana", then changed her name to Melissa was the worst! I had a contract for services, paid a deposit and was canceled with no explanation. At this point this is a breach of contract however I accommodated this company by accepting the additional labor but keeping the schedule timeframe the same. Here is where incompetency takes place. My daughter recently moved her furniture to a storage unit after selling her house and looking to buy a new one. Since she is single, and I'm retired, she enlisted my help getting moved. I was the primary contact for all moving issues. We used a different company (not Clean Slate) to move from her old house TO the storage unit. They were "decent" but I felt a little used and abused by their add on charges after the fact. I started looking for a different mover when it was time to move from the storage unit to the new home. All communications were via text. Clean Slate did meet another movers price and since they had so many 5 star reviews, I decided to go with them. There was one problem, they showed up an hour late.
